A 1985 bare bones F-150 was my daily driver for many years. No factory a/c, crank windows, no cruise control, inline 6. Unfortunately I wrecked that truck then bought a 1988 F150 XLT Lariat with cruise control, a/c, headliner, power windows, 351W, automatic C6 transmission, etc. I much prefer the luxury of the 1988. But I am 72 now and not quite as tough as I used to be. One thing I really love about most of the older vehicles is the vent window. Except for on the hottest days, that vent window is almost as effective as a/c. You can buy one of these older trucks for a few thousand dollars, put another 5 to 15 thousand dollars in it and have a truck that is just as comfortable and useful as a new 40 to 70 thousand dollar truck.

I have a Ford F250 from 1984 and i love that car. I imported it from the US to Germany in 2018. In order to get it road legal I had to invest quite some work and still do. I will never get my money back but it is my favourite car. I pull horses, my motorbikes and use it for any kind of work. It never let me down. You find a short video on my channel. What I love the most is that young guys really start to admire these cars. I get so many thumbs up. But here in Germany these cars where never really been seen a lot. Today a 460 cui V8 engines makes every little human smile. 🙂

Funny you say that because my buddy picked up one all jacked up King Ranch 140k miles, thought it was badass, not even a day of driving it, loud clanking from the valve cover area, found out it needed a Crankshaft sensor, bud drove it to the gas station, motor locked up. 🤣

Back in 1997, I bought a 1980 F150 with the 300 and C6 auto. Drove that thing over 100K miles till a piston skirt broke, and the engine made a horrible rattling noise. Drove a couple more years with the noisey engine, then swapped in a 5.9 Cummins and NV4500 5 speed. Still driving it today..
Yeah, I'd say they are still worth buying.

Bought my 86 two toned F250 super cab almost a year ago now. I’ve had my eyes on that truck for about 4-5 years and the owner finally decided to part with it. Newish 351W crate motor, AC/heat and the cruise control works. Paid 4500 bucks for it. Didn’t think that was too bad considering that was probably the cost of the motor alone and I got a whole truck lmao

They are very much still worth buying! I'm not even a Ford fan but these Bullnose and Bricknose Fords are the last of the affordable Classic Trucks, I mean you can't even look at Squarebody/OBS Chevy or a Frogface Dodge truck for less than 8-10k, You can go out find Bull-Bricknose Fords all day long that are running and driving for 3k or less, Why would you not want one?

YES! these are absolutely worth investing in while they are still cheap! take us Australians as an example, a short time ago these "Bull Nose" were very cheap then over night prices exploded! a rusted out non runner now will set you back 10k a good one goes for 50k, i brought a rusted non runner just before prices exploded for $1500 and now I'm in a unique position where it's too expensive to fix and too expensive to sell (meaning if i sell i'll never be able to afford to buy another one ever again)

My brag time: '85 F-250 w/ 460, T-19, limited slip rear 4x4, 8600 GVW (F-350 chassis with a F-250 title for reduced taxes and no factory catalytic converter or F.I.). I am currently replacing the brakes myself with all new parts. I rebuilt the 460 with forged Autotec pistons (.030" over) and Eagle rods; my crank went .010/.010; engine balanced to 6k and can handle 550 hp (builder claims); heads rebuilt with hardened exhaust seats and new valves/guides (NEVER knurl the guides!); and on a dyno has 250 hp and 350 TQ at the rear tires (uncorrected at 4,200' elevation) with Lunati 10340101 cam; 9:1 CR. for el cheapo regular gasoline. Eddy AVS-2 off road carb which is the best carb I have ever used. Fantastic smooth low end TQ from idle with instant throttle response when wheeling with the 1,800# camper; go slow and stuff does not get broken. With carb and dizzy then I can work on it myself. Set for long range off road with 18 gallon front and 38 gallon rear tanks. Spare tire on Roadmaster hitch carrier Did I mention it is a High Boy chassis. About 11-12 empty and 8 mpg loaded with camper. Max TQ at cruise of 2.5k rpm and hp ends at 4k rpm. Rubber mats so a garden hose takes care of mud and desert dirt. Can tow my '03 jeep Rubicon with ease (Jeep set up with Invisi Brake to be legal when towed). Love this truck.... it is NOT for sale and is well guarded.
