- DAY 2!! I have been told by far too many that this 1979 Pontiac Firebird can NOT be a daily driver. I've heard it all, "It's too old" and "Old cars aren't reliable". Out to prove really nothing to nobody, but if anything this should be a fun week driving the old Firebird the way it was meant to and keeping these old cars on the road!

My '90 Pontiac Firebird hasn't driven since the beginning of Corona. Most cities here ban old cars so almost cannot drive anywhere.

Nice 👍 I drove my 78 Caprice as a daily from 2012 to 2017 and no A/C as well but larger cities more stop and go put a hurting on mine. Another thing with the gas tank the contour of the lower part of the tank is smaller to streamline with the under body so it may seem to go quickly after a half tank.

Im willing to bet you will get 28 or better. Same set up as my 88 iroc. Only difference is i had a 3600 stall . Same 2.77 gears. I think mine was around 24 mpg.
