I had the original stock issue of this truck in 2000, and it is a very impressive kit similar to the 1950 Chevy that came out in the mid 1990s. This custom truck inspires me to build it again. What I particularly love about Round 2's reissues of these kits is the full decal sheets; the first issue had three license plates and that was it!

Nice 80s color. Don't let the model building police see you sprayed laquer paint over enamel primer and enamel clear coat over that. 😂

That Torino looks amazing

Just joined your channel, been over 20 years since i built a kit. Have 65 plus built and stashed away. your videos make me want to restore them all, because I never had any luck getting a gloss finish with spray products. Looks to me that the Duplicolor & Rustoleum do well for you. Which one is better? I know that airbrushing also gives the best results, but it is way too time consuming. Also I have the same kit in this video, painted it maroon, but no high gloss shine.

I had back luck with this kit back in the day. I ended up buying it twice and both models suffered from the cab being warped/out of shape in the rear, making gluing the back wall difficult

Another cool build, Louie. This kit actually dates back to 1978 when it was the Ice Patrol and later the Billy Carter truck. I have several of those. This verson was the Hot Rod Magazine release from the mid 80s.

They also made the 1977 Chevrolet pickup also as a towtruck
