Fantastic build Louie. I wish Jo-Han would have survived, their kits (even the "snap-together") were amazing in detail. I love your paint and detail, spot-on perfect. (the silver Sharpie has to be one of the greatest inventions to us modelers).
There was an article in one of the model magazines in the ‘80’s on how to make a limo out of two of these kits. I tried it, it turned out decent. I had that model for years, it was eventually lost in one of our moves.
I had to dig mine out of the stash. Someone in my neighborhood had a black and silver one that I always liked. Pretty much why I bought it back in the day.
Great build, Thank You for sharing. always liked those Jo-Han kits. They were simple but really fun to build and they look great on the shelf. Hope you have a great week. Take care, Tony
I remember back in 1988 when I was 12, I bought this at a local hobby shop (long gone now sadly) but it cost about $12 I remember. I could find a bunch of JoHan kits for $10 to $12. Miss those days.
Yep me too. You’re my age, 48 in a couple days. I bought mine at Checkered Flag hobbies and Schaefers hobby shop in St. Louis. Would ride my bike there. Good times
That was a neat build of a REAL Cadillac! I grew up with those 70’s and 90’s Caddys. My next door neighbor owned a light blue and white one and I had the pleasure of riding in it! Talk about an amazing experience as a kid! 😊
Great job. I had a 77 deville in high-school. Very cool cars. Just a tip that i like to do, and may help you out with paint control on your bresh, instead of dipping your brush in the jar, use whats on the lid. If you run out of paint on the lid, just put it back on the jar and shake. Now not only do you have fresh paint, but its properly mixed as well.
I wasn't even aware there was a kit of this later model Cadillac that was completely stock - I only recall seeing the Revell/Monogram one that is a lowrider and I would have liked if that had had in the parts to make a completely stock car. These are the kinds of Cadillacs I grew up seeing so I had to take a look at this video to see how it turns out. Jo Han seems to have had some good kits of subjects other manufacturers did not necessarily touch.
Love it love it. One thing - name rhymes with hand (jo) Han; founder was John Hanley. One day I'll have the nerve to glue together my old '70 Sox & Martin 'Cuda from Jo-Han...👍🏻
nice work i remember seein these at trost hobbies in chicagoland for 6 bucks in the 90s....shouldve grabbed a few needs too be reissued id buy a few i found the johan 75 olds box in one of my boxes car is long gone though your right these were made too be build thats whats im doin goiin thru some of my dads old models seeing which ones i should build i did the 67 69 and 72 impalas so far
What I remember most about this era of Caddy was the back bumpers always leaned back making a giant gap between the rear quarter and the tailight bezel. Every single one 😂 Nice work, man.
That really looks fantastic Louie!!! Amazing how great a simple kit can come out with the right details. Loved your comment building it, after all its a model. It looks like you apply alot of paint. But when I watch you detail the body I don’t see any crazing why is that? Nice job!
HI, I A FAN OF YOUR VIDEOS AND MODELS YOU BUILD,I A 70 YO AND A CAR MODEL BUILDER,THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR BUILD MODELS,IN EACH ONE I LEARN SOMENTHING NEW, LIKE THE WAY YOU MAKE YOUR VIDEOS,LES BLA BLA AND POSITIVE ACTION,HOPE YOU STILL BUILDING MORE MODELS ,THANKS A LOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice build. It is reminiscent of the old days when AMT was starting out, back in the ‘50s. Just body, bumper, wheels, tires and interior. You didn’t an excellent job of accurately all of the characters on the Cadillac.
The box art shows a 1977 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. However, Jo-Han was cheap in these years and didn’t update their box-art, so even though the box shows a ‘77 Cadillac, in the box could be a ‘77, ‘78, or ‘79. The only differences are the grille and taillight styling.
Pardon if this question has been asked but is that just a Sharpie marker you’re using for the wheel opening and windshield trim? Or a special paint pen and by whom is it from? Thanks
love the dash just amazing 👍👍😅
thats neat , thanx for sharing

I drive my 79 sedan deville every day with Hanks 8 track blaring. thanks for build
This was Johan's last new tool they ever did. Very nice job.
Great build Louie! Thanks for sharing and actually building these rare kits 👍

Thank you so much for the kind words!!! Happy modeling

Beautiful work ❤
Awesome video. I like what you said about building, models were meant to be built.
Very nice job on the Caddy

Another beautiful build, just shows what you can get out of a simple kit with some work. Love the color, thanks!
I would love to find one!!!!❤
interesting kit!

That came out beatifully! Thanks for sharing..👍🙂
Back in the day, I took two of these kits and made a limo out of them, I wish I still had it.
Excellent build. I agree with the color change on the top, looks much better.
Great job. The tan roof sets the hole car off.
Nice job, I had a 73 Cutlas right out of high school😮
Those gaps between the body and the bumper always broke..on all Gmail models that used them during that era . Nice build and detail!!!
Looks great
Very, very cool!
Fantastic job! Not to bad of a finish using rattle cans either!
Un beau résultat ...-
Really digging your channel. I’ve been a HPI guy for years, but it’s nice to have more options 😄🤙
Thank you for Watching.
Beautiful build, I think the promos are a bit easier to find than the snap kit version.
Nice👍🏻id like to have one of these kits
Cool build. I wonder if the chassis from the Revell 91 Caprice police car would fit underneath for a bit more detail?
catalina convertible?....er catalytic converter? u mean...SHEESH!!'
I’ve called them that my entire life. 😆
@@TheAutisticModeler haha it's all cool!! I was joshing with ya😁
Hi Louie. I was doing some research for a video im doing and this kit was the very Last kit Jo-han made.
Yes that’s correct. The last new tool that Johan made.
What did you used for the carpet if I may ask
It’s flocking. I show how to do this in this video in the interior section. I show the bag with the website link on it. Please watch that section
I found an original JO-HAN 1973 Eldorado kit. I can't bring myself to break the open the wrapper. Guess it's reserved for posterity. 👍
Awesome job but I noticed at the 13:22 mark the vinyl top is a different color.
Yes, I explained that in the video. The red didn’t look good to me.
Oh ok I did catch that at close to the end of the video when you explained it
I appreciate you watching!! Happy Modeling
I agree with your attitude that models are meant to be built. But now that 3D printing is a thing, maybe keep one extra around to reproduce it later.
Cara seus vídeos são ótimos. Gostaria que deixasse na descrição um lista das tintas e vernizes que usa em cada modelo. Um grande abraço.
Nice build. It is reminiscent of the old days when AMT was starting out, back in the ‘50s. Just body, bumper, wheels, tires and interior. You didn’t an excellent job of accurately all of the characters on the Cadillac.

One note. There’s no chrome trim around rear glass the trim pieces are vinyl top color
Panel liner didnt seem to flow to well over the chrome spray
Pardon if this question has been asked but is that just a Sharpie marker you’re using for the wheel opening and windshield trim? Or a special paint pen and by whom is it from? Thanks
Just a plain ole silver sharpie.
@@TheAutisticModeler Cool! Never thought of that, Thanks for your reply 👍

Where can I purchase the 1979 Cadillac Jo Han
They are tough and expensive when you find them. Look on EBay and stuff like that.
Great job love your work can't wait for your next bill
