      That's a cool idea! For that, I would take a pic of a cue ball and mask out the surrounding felt and table [try my video on Transparency: ruclips.net/video/oV-4-w78W78/видео.html] and then to add the red dot, use the polygon mask - you could even animate it to show it moving - and for that, try this video: ruclips.net/video/R9kEoCf7UnE/видео.html Let me know when you get it done, that'd be cool to see!

    If your target mask object doesn't move, you're probably better off just using a polygon mask instead of magic mask. I tire of how often magic mask drops frames, even in object mode. When correcting in red, does it make a difference if you do a lot of little strokes or one big "You Shall Not Pass!" stroke? Thanks so much.

    • @CreatorReality1
      @CreatorReality1 3 дня назад

      True, the polygon mask would work... I'm so used to using MM, though. One longer stroke is better for corrections, IMO.

    One feature I often miss from Premiere Pro is the ability to Match Frame into a Compound clip, such that the Compound timeline opens on the same frame. The Open in Timeline feature does not respect the current playhead position.

    Nodes can be confusing. I believe there is a way to simulate ''layers'' (as in After Effects), but I believe that has some disadvantages in Davinci. Flares are cool though :)

    • @CreatorReality1
      @CreatorReality1 10 дней назад

      Yes, they certainly CAN be! I haven't used After Effects... but layering is something I'm familiar with. Resolve sort of works like that. In the Edit page, the video tracks all layer on top of each other, and in Fusion, the nodes layer from source [MediaIn, background, etc.] to MediaOut. So, one thing affects everything downstream of it.

  • @evilevilrick
    @evilevilrick 10 дней назад

    It's still the confusion page to me. I think it's a matter of knowing what is there, HOW and WHY you have to use one thing to make it work with another thing. For instance, on the edit page, if I want to change a color or size, I just open the inspector and key it in. On the fusion page, I have to add a node of something, then add a node of something else, and connect them together in a certain way to get to the point where I can change what I want to change. Or, you go to the bike shop and say, I have a knocking sound in my motor. The guy behind the counter says, you need a piston rod, here's one. With no explanation of how to change the rod, it makes the rod useless. You have to know how to change it, which involves, what order to take the motor apart, what order to put it back together, what parts you need to do it and WHY it has to be done in a specific order. I think a vid on whats there, why it's there, and when and how to use it would help a lot of people. I've watched a few dozen vids on the fusion page and as of yet haven't seen any one go through with descriptions of the what, why, and when. These demonstrations of how you or any one else put a scene together are good for showing what can be done, but no explanation of how you know what to use, when to use it, and how to connect them together, for a scene to change/do whatever it is you want to do. Again, part of it is knowing what is there and how to use it. That would probably be a long vid.

    • @CreatorReality1
      @CreatorReality1 10 дней назад

      I can certainly appreciate that! A lot of what I know how to do comes from tinkering. The guy in the bike shop hears the sound your bike is making and knows instinctively that a rod has been bent, and how to fix it. I feel the same way. I just know what needs to go where. Translating that into something a new-to-Fusion person can understand? Therein lies the rub. But I am working on that, I am... it's just figuring out the translation.

I would watch more of this channel if you were using different editing platforms or apps whatever you call them. Like some adobe Premiere Rush it’s a simple version, but would be cool to know more about it Already have an adobe account if I upgraded, it would be to adobe premier. I tried da Vinci once took up too much space on my computer and made it lag pretty bad. Probably be way too much to learn several different platforms and try to teach all of them, but just saying. ❤😊 no worries, John I’m just commenting and thinking out loud. @CreatorReality, I'm not saying you do these. I'm just referencing things that annoy me and things that make me click off videos. My biggest pet peeve is improper language and use of words/phrases like: 1. People adding 'out' to words: testing 'out,' planning 'out.' camping 'out,' etc.. It's simply camping, testing, planning. IDK WTH adding out to words came from, but it is MAJORLY ANNOYING. 2. People who say: these 'ones' and those 'ones.' It's these and those...PERIOD! 3. People incorrectly and overly using 'literally.' Ex: "it's like literally the best I've ever had." Simply: 'it's the best I've ever had.' 4. People using 'totally' instead of 'completely.' Ex: "I totally get it," when it should be: "I completely understand." 5. People using 'super' incorrectly. Ex: "it's super, super warm," when it should be: "it's really warm." 6. People who use 'like' repeatedly. This should be self-explanatory?! 7. People who continuously use the word 'guys' in their videos. Ex: "hi guys." "Welcome back guys." "Look at this guys." Etc., etc., etc.. 8. People who say: "Where I'm at." It's 'where I am.' 9. People who say: "I've got," "we've got" or some derivative of those phrases. It's 'I have' or 'we have' I've and we've is a conjunction of 'I have'/'we have' and adding 'got' is improper. The long form of that is: 'I have got' or 'we have got' which is not only improper, it's incorrect and sounds stoopid (misspelled due to YT censors). Good oratory is just as important and good video, and when creators use improper language and grammar it DRIVES ME NUTS!...like totally! (I had to!) The lack of proper grammar and the abhorrent misuse of the English language is completely dreadful, and it ruins videos.

      Can you say it louder for those in the back? You know, the ones on their phones, not paying attention? [yes, I realized I used "ones" there]. This is completely something I feel your pain on! I know I use some of those grammatical mistakes in my typing and speech - but only occasionally. I prefer proper speech. Blame the Valley Girl speak of the 80s and 90s... these days, kids just lop off whole syllables and expect you to know what they mean, and it drives me nuts! Kids say "sus" instead of "suspect", ugh. And "no cap" is "no lie", but it doesn't even save a single letter OR syllable! I do try to stay away from saying "you guys" or "hey guys", but I know I slip up from time to time. I prefer "my friend" or "my friends" - it's both non-gender specific AND something you don't see in most videos. All that said, thanks for watching & sharing what ticks YOU off - that's important stuff for people to know!

    I have exactly the same problem. Had a Hero 10 but needed another camera and got a Hero 12. Couldn't work out why Multicam mode doesn't work after power off and googling found me your video. I don't think the workaround is a usable solution.

    • @CreatorReality1
      @CreatorReality1 21 день назад

      It's kludgy, for sure. There's no 100% workaround, unfortunately. I've even been doing research on 3rd-party remotes, and none have addressed this issue, as far as I can tell. And I'm not buying up all the remotes to try them all out to find one that'll work.

      @@CreatorReality1 Totally! I added to my playlist, I'll use them when I need it. And since you asked, right now I'm trying to figure out how can I reduce harsh wind sounds/pops in my virtual walk type of videos and I want to record the surroundings, without wind if possible. I hope Fairlight has something for this. I'm using iPhone 15 Pro. I tried small mics with clips but they're too direct and has very short range. So I switch back to internal mics but still learning. Hey mate, what if you want to cut a section of the clip out… or you have 2 files of the one section you want to work with?? Can you join the clips to do this?

    • @CreatorReality1
      @CreatorReality1 23 дня назад

      Yeah, you can do either! You can cut a speed-ramped clip [which may not look the way you want], but joining clips is as easy as first creating a Compound Clip and then speed-ramping *that*. Here's how to work with Compound Clips: ruclips.net/video/ZNpv3kBkCfI/видео.html

    The best roto tool on the market is not Resolve... it's Silhouette. Magic Mask is adequate for color grading, but largely useless for rotoscoping, if you have standards. Magic Mask needs a LOT of work.

    • @CreatorReality1
      @CreatorReality1 27 дней назад

      Thanks for the insight! Silhouette sounds great... but at $1,995 for a perpetual license or almost $800 for a yearly subscription... it's outside the budget for most, I think. I know I can't afford that. For what Magic Mask can do, you're right - it's adequate. It isn't perfect, but at least it's something.

    Thanks so much for this. I have watched this a couple of times now, so am going to give it a go. I am no serious amateur, but did a wedding video for my niece. I forgot to record some kids on the day making chapter dividers ; for example, some of them saying Lets get Married, lets eat. the first dance etc. So I had the idea of using magic mask to put them back in the wedding even though the videos of them were recorded back at home........(thought you might appreciate a genuine use case and gratitude in making this video)
