    Congrats. This is probably the best video at explaining these concepts that I've watched so far (and I've watched a LOT of them). Plus, bikes. Who doesn't love a bike?

    I will have to watch this video several times, it moves very quickly especially the short cut navigation stuff, which is great for folks familiar with DaVinci Resolve, but I'm just beginning to learn DaVinci.. Your techniques and skills are working though, John. I felt like I just watched a 15 min video in under 5 min 😅👍

    Great video! You demonstrated how to save DR 19 generator in "Power Bins". Can you please show or verbalize ALL the steps slowly while doing this? Mine doesn't move to Master clip folder using 18.6. Should this be saved under "Power Bins" or "Smart Bins" ? Need an entire video on saving favorites Thank you

    I liked your video very much. I am a relatively new user of Resolve coming from FCPX. Lots of stuff I knew but some was new so thank you. I really like the box where you are visible when sharing your screen. Can you explain how you do that? It is visible and also pleasing to the eye. There are probably different ways to get the effect but you might have a quick and easy way…

    • @CreatorReality1
      @CreatorReality1  2 месяца назад

      Welcome to Resolve! For the picture-in-picture, I use the "DVE Effect", which is Studio-only, but the free version has transform and mask tools you can use to achieve the same effect. I show how to use them in this video: ruclips.net/video/xE7JOgHXo_s/видео.html

      @CreatorReality1  2 месяца назад

      @@sigridlee3743 Oh, you're gonna LOVE it! Fusion is where the magic happens, IMO :D Lots to do in there.
      FWIW, the DVE Effect can be applied in the Edit page - I think I showed that in the video, but if not, it's in the Effects area, just scroll down to Filters or Effects, it's in there. Drag & drop it onto your clip and PRESTO - picture-in-picture!

    I generally agree with you about 4-6 second grabs to hold a viewer's attention. Many news grabs on the telly are 2-3 seconds. However, I saw an interview with David Lean, the director of Lawrence of Arabia, and he said if you reall wanted to shock a viewr, get them bored first then suddenly hit them with the killing or whatever. But he was talking about Lawrence of Arabia, a technique he he used several times in that movie (btw - I think this is up there as one of the best movies ever made).

    Would have been nice to see and hear the 'J' cuts just to ram home the essence of the point. As they were a little fast for me as someone already mentioned. Next is a video on how to drop in another background to hide the cluttered man cave, only kidding! 🤣😵‍💫😵😂

    • @CreatorReality1
      @CreatorReality1  3 месяца назад +1

      You're 100% right! I cut this one trying to keep it from going on too long, and it's a balancing act. There were a bunch of J and L cuts elsewhere in the video, so I thought it would work... I guess I was wrong!
      You're right about the man cave, too... there's only so much space to store stuff in my small house, lol... and this is way better than it used to be on my other channel :)

      @@DAG_M Thanks! And no, not really... I just have 3 or 4 thousand hours of editing over the last 4+ years of creating videos for RUclips. I had a few key things I knew I wanted to do from the outset, so I downloaded 4 editors and tried to use them to do those things... and I found Resolve was the easiest for me - it just all made sense to me. So, I picked Resolve and started cranking out videos.
