Looks like a very peaceful lakeside town, is it easy to access by road?
The roads to get to San Pedro was easy but as you get closer to town the streets become really narrow so I wouldn't recommend driving a car there!

As a Mexican, I think Oaxaca is highly overrated. There are many historical cities in Mexico that have more beautiful architecture and that are more clean and well maintained. Oaxaca's superiority is in its culture....mainly culinary and artistic. But for some reason it became super popular among foreign tourists. I like cities like Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Taxco, and San Luis Potosi a lot more...but then again my main interest is architecture.
I think i have to agree even as a visitor i felt oaxaca was a bit overrated. The market was huge and the food was good, but so are the other lesser known cities and towns. I would love to check out some of those cities you mentioned, hopefully one day when i get the chance 🙂
