- Oaxaca City is the capital of the state of Oaxaca. It is set amongst the central Valleys and the foothills of the Sierra Madre base of the Cero Del Fortin. The city is bustling with tourists, rich with a more preserved version of the country’s indigenous and colonial history. The city is lined with many beautiful cafes, restaurants, open-air markets and sun-faded cantinas on the cobblestoned streets.
It is a place not to miss in Mexico.
We were in Oaxaca during Christmas and New years of 2021, please enjoy this walk during a more festive time in the city.
Free to Wander is a space for you to sit back, relax, and wander through the beautiful streets, roads, and oceans of the world from the comfort of your own home.

Beautiful day to "wander" around.
Thank you!
Beautiful! Great walking tour my friend! Thank you😊
Thank you!!
I like these wide colourful streets. Very, very nice atmosphere, thank you for showing this City 🧡
It was a great timing too with lots of people on vacation so it created an even more exciting atmosphere. Thank you for watching :)
As a Mexican, I think Oaxaca is highly overrated. There are many historical cities in Mexico that have more beautiful architecture and that are more clean and well maintained. Oaxaca's superiority is in its culture....mainly culinary and artistic. But for some reason it became super popular among foreign tourists. I like cities like Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Taxco, and San Luis Potosi a lot more...but then again my main interest is architecture.
I think i have to agree even as a visitor i felt oaxaca was a bit overrated. The market was huge and the food was good, but so are the other lesser known cities and towns. I would love to check out some of those cities you mentioned, hopefully one day when i get the chance 🙂
