Thank you for posting. I want to drive from San Cristobal de las casas to Ocosingo, stay a couple of days and drive on to Palenque. I have read so many posts about the dangers of being robbed, stopped by locals. Did you have any problems at all?
How did you get to Ocosingo? drove from Palenque?
Yes, we drove from Palenque to Ocosingo to San Cristobal. The drive was relatively safe, however, we never drive at night! There are parts in the villages where locals would hold a rope/string to block the traffic and ask for money, we usually just keep going and only stop if it is absolutely necessary. Good idea to have some change handy. It is nothing dangerous. Good luck with your drive.
