Mexico's most dangerous road? 🇲🇽 |S6-E79|

- In this episode I am trying to ride to San Cristobal de las Casas. I leave the peaceful and tranquil community of Lacandon Mayas, and quickly enter a very different world. I try to avoid the road which has lots of warnings, but the alternative road isn't free of obstacles either. I am on edge and do not trust anybody here.

It’s been six months since season six started on Dec 1 and Noraly has produce three videos a week every week. Not missing one video. Crazy impressive. She may go by Itchy Boots but I think “The Dutch Machine” is more appropriate. Hope you’ve found time for some rest and relaxation during this time. Keep having fun out there. Cheers.

Hi Noraly 👋👋👋👋!!! I just wanna say that in San Cristóbal you can find a youtuber and his family with the name VAGABOOM. His name is Denis (he is from Switzerland) his wife and little daughter from Mexico). They are in San Cristóbal at the moment. It would be really nice if you could meet them for a few hours or so (if you don't have much time left) Eating dinner and sharing life travel experiences, or maybe they can show you around a little bit... 😊 They're really nice people and it should be really nice that VAGABOOM 's subscribers can also meet you through them. Good luck girl 🍀! And thank you very much for every single video you share with us!!! I always get so sentimental 🥹🙏🥰👍.
@@joanadelao4973 She is 2 days in front of her videos. So maybe she is far away from that town you are talking about.
@@TCulmsee ok, I am understand ... But who knows??!!! Maybe we're lucky 😜😊. It worked with Charly Sinewan ( I don't know how many messages I sent to them in every single way) 😂😃😊. But thank you and have a nice day 🤗
That procession with people and trucks was probably a funeral procession. I live in Mexico and really enjoying Noraly's tour through the country.
It was, the first munnicipal police told her that it was a 12 (or 14) year old boy and he did not knew what happened to him and was asking if she had something to give to the people doing the procession.
You are correct
Immigrants traveling to US

yes, it is the same in my Colombia we have to go outside town to say good bay for the very last time
I did 45 days on my bike once on the US highways and thought I was adventurous.
Hats off you, a non poser, true adventurer.
Fear is a gift when you know how to interpret its signals. It was interesting to see Noraly react to the situation. She has traveled so much and been to so many different places that her intuition must be incredibly sharp. I would love to sit down and have a beer with her and listen to the stories that she doesn't talk about on video. If she shared her experiences with others, many things could be learned. A book called "The Gift of Fear" that I read years ago goes into depth about this stuff; it is an interesting read.
Yes, I was thinking the same. She is cautious but does not freak out if she comes across strange situations.
She always analyzes the real situation and does not presuppose.
Driving her motorcycle out of uncertain situations like this or the episode with the robe is just smart! Well done. She travels too fast for evil to catch up with her.
For all it's troubles Mexico is a very beautiful place with an amazing history. I wish it's people well.
Thank you

And here we get to see Itchy Boots in full alert mode, something we don't quite see as viewers. And great instinct on the spot, in my opinion, to give that skechy "Policia Municipal" guy just enough time to see what's going on, keeping the engine on, and then immediately leaving to keep up with the other riders. Good strategy in my opinion. Great to see the "Fight of flight" Boots side of Itchy Boots 💪
Yes, the first one looked sketchy, but it was a rural police. Anyway it is always a smart idea to be on the lookout.
What the guy said, it gave me the sense that it was a funeral procession for a 14year old deceased boy
@@Kantuva I thought it looked like a funeral. Thanks for the info.
The only policía municipal was the patrol but the indigenous are self defence guards, Miss Itchy boots is crossing a very indigenous state and the people there have very strong customs.
Actually, the "sketchy" Policia Municipal was telling Noraly that the dead guy was a young man; it was a funeral. He tried to explain to Noraly that, but his Spanish was very bad. Many people in that area don't even speak Spanish.
I think she has more courage than most. Also her personality will go far. I love this lady as we all do. So glad to see her new posts.
I spent a few years hauling mixed compressed gasses into Mexico and I loved the country. Growing up in Texas only 150 miles from the border we spent as much time there as we did at home. I really hate what it’s become because it’s a beautiful nation filled with wonderful people who just want to be left alone to live.

Well said 🙏🏾

Yes, people should have a positive mindset, and should hope and wish Noraly the best in her travels. I think all the concern and panic for her safety on the road is because of a big lack of confidence in her skills and strength, because they are new viewers or who knows.. So in conclusion, it's not a lack of positive thinking, people should learn to trust her more.. and you learn by having more information, well.. she has 400+ videos of proof she's better than people think this she is.
But jezzz... still :( I'm freaking out ... all those isolated road :(
I meet Noraly when Charly Sinewan anda her trip crossing., And really I began to admire all her videos...Now that she is in our country I wish the best of best for she.

he was a rural Municipal police man,not all towns can afford proper gear and uniforms. He was basically asking for a voluntary donation to help the family of a 14 year old boy that died.
Would have been smart to had it written down in Spanish, and maybe also English… And maybe also learn to say it in Spanish, when that is the most used language of the country he live in. But he probably did not think about it before.
@@Gismo3333 are you paying for lessons?
@@phoenixcampos3144 - About what?
Alot of those places in southern and central Mexico where there's a high native population, tend to create town self defense groups that create checkpoints by making roadblocks to protect from criminal organizations (whose people are foreign to the area and mostly come from Sinaloa).
@@ivansultan1 In Northern Mexico there was a higher European influence that lead to a different culture and customs to develop. Most people there are of mixed European and Native ancestry and there's alot of people of only European decent there as well. Not saying one is better than the other, but causes one culture to be skeptical of the other and to act in different ways. This isn't exclusive of Mexico, it can be seen in post colonial places like South Africa.
Curiously the narco culture derived in a way from the rugged cowboy/ranching culture of the North, and now those people seem to take advantage of these communities in the south increasingly, which is why the locals have to protect themselves with these checkpoints.
@@Vettejocke Indeed! There are areas with higher non indigenous people like in northern and parts of central states like Zacatecas and Jalisco
Thanks for the explanation … one might think it is all criminal gangs, but is just to defend themselves, this is so unreal in the Netherlands where I’m living.
I thought it was a illegal migrant caravan 🤷♀️
Those policía municipal guys looked like they were escorting a funeral to town to town or to the graveyard, normal thing in small towns here in México nothing to worry about ;)

The pipes on the bridge may be there to prevent cattle from crossing as they are afraid to step on them.
I think you are right. Those are very similar to the pipes we find in cattle gates.
Then the bars would be across and not longitudinal. A better explanation is that these are old railroad tracks used to span across pilings to make a bridge and then they put cement over the top to make a road surface, which in this case was quite worn.
@@robcroese4677 et al
The pipes in the bridge are there as structural members from the time it was built . The back roads in Chiapas ,Tabasco ,Veracruz and other places were used by PEMEX oil exploration teams to search for oil deposits in all corners and PEMEX often would build the first bridges so that their heavy big equipment did not need to do water crossings . Being in the oil business with a supply of pipes at hand they ( or a subcontractor ) would often use such to construct the bridges almost entirely with pipes, instead of structural steel beams .Even the road deck has pipes lain in the length of the bridge and would be covered with a skim of concrete or simply a gravel-dirt mix . With use the covering layer wears away exposing the bare steel .This bridge is an example where the deck is made of modest diameter pipes and the gap is not yet deeply worn out and it was no big issue for Noraly to cross . In the Pantanos de Centla , the delta wetlands north of Palenque , there are long , high river-crossing bridges over the Usumacinta and its branches with the vertical support pillars also constructed of large diameter pipe . In some the high deck is made of much larger diameter pipes which tend to have deeper grooves and can be very annoying for a motorcycle to traverse . It gets doubly interesting when the concrete and fill have completely disappeared down through the gap .
As a side note , in some towns they have storm grates made with small diameter pipe placed parallel to the direction of travel and which are spaced so ridiculously widely that a skinny tire like on a Ralley or a pizza bike can get trapped😯 ! Ride with caution and always read the street surface . . .
@@robcroese4677 yeah... I don't actually know anything about these but that was what I was thinking

You are a brave soul, may the force be with you. Nice that they let you bring your bike inside.
Good going, Brave duch adventurest, Don't let anything discourage you. Have a nice trip.
I am glad you had that App, it made you quite cautious and provided safe alternate routes. Be safe, Be careful, I keep you in my safe prayers daily.
What is the name of that app?

Good Noraly stay on the gard, and be safe!
Thank you for sharing!!
I am really enjoying your travel adventures in Mexico. I made the trip from Nuovo Laredo to Guadalajara via Satillo six times without incident. The Mexican people are wonderful and I enjoyed the four years I lived in Guadalajara. I hope you get to go through that beautiful city!
That was a scary tense ride, please stay safe.👍
100% fantastic! Amazing journey. Well done navigating and decision making with road choices. Life away is always a gamble, but you have good senses, intuition and the right amount of good fortune or luck. That’s what it takes. Continued safe travels with much fun. Peace
Take good care Noraly and have a safe journey.
