The viola is a beautiful instrument. What a pity that nobody wrote for it .

You must listen to this next to the Turkey river in Spillville where Dvorak went for inspiration. Very fitting next to riverside park. The birds, occasional bald eagle, the trees, the babbling creek, snakes rabbits, occasional white tail coming for a drink… Very fitting scene for listening to this.

Must play this after listening to this amazing video. Zukerman is my all-time favorite . Thank you for sharing.

I have worn out my Rudolf Serkin recording from 1959 (I believe) which is considered the watershed recording of this extraordinary set of variations, but this performance (this LIVE performance!) is easily comparable to that one (in my humble opinion), also to the recording made by Mr. Horzowski. Both Serkin and Horzowski were long-time teachers of Richard Goode. How fortunate we are to have had all three of these musicians in our lifetime! Words fail me how moved I am having just listened to this performance! A million thanks to Richard Goode and all the folks who make Parlance concerts available to the public!

Does she take batteries or is she rechargeable?

Excellent performance, great group. However, I found the camera movement very distracting. I don’t want to be forced to view a concert through someone else’s eyes, especially when that someone else has more concern about the visual aspect of a performance than on the musical aspect. Musicians need to take control of videos and just have one static camera and let the audience decide where they want to visually focus on at any given moments.

Sadly, it seems that part two of this lecture has been blocked for copyright reasons. Is there any other way of listening to it?

Beautiful performance

Dear Michael, I´m In awe listening to this lecture, so rich in details , delightfully narrated , like becoming hooked on a killer tv show in which i can´t resist rushing to episode 2. Also, I sense an echo of the Brahms f minor Sonata op.5 , 2nd movement in the achingly beautiful Romance by Clara in B minor op. post, may be it´s just my imagination . Thank You for keeping this excellent channels and lectures available on RUclips, in an era of saturated noise.
