For me it's still easier to use MacBook than AVP. I find AVP is good for travelling, but still less comfortable when using laptop for every day work. I regards to movies it's also not that great. If you watch a movie in immersed theatre or dark immersed environment, the lens glare that you get is crazy and kills all the movie viewing experience...

When the first iPad was released, I travelled to South Korea with my iPad, and the border security didn’t even know what it was.. it felt a little awkward using such a huge screen on the plane.

You are not the only one experiencing connections issues with AirPods Pro! I am watching your video using Vision Pro with my AirPods Pro on the bed, and it disconnected once. I think the issue might be with Vision Pro.

I am going to be picking my system up today for work and building Virtual systems while I am traveling for work... this will help I think due to going from such a small laptop screen to a large multiple screens desktop setup and to also use a mobile Hotspot to connect to my home network and home PC to RDP and use the system apps that the Vision pro may not have.

Thanks for sharing your experience and tips! I just recently did my first flight with the Vision Pro. It was a long international flight, so it was perfect for experimenting with the full experience. My case of choice is the Waterfield Designs “Shield Case for Apple Vision Pro”. It is *very* compact, and lets me pack the Vision Pro into my backpack. Basically like a camera case. Going through airport security round trip, I never needed to remove the Waterfield bag from my backpack. Only removed the usual laptop and battery bank. Zero issues with the Vision Pro through security. On the plane, I turned on the Vision Pro and preemptively enabled Travel Mode out of fear that I wouldn’t be able to engage it once in the air. (Maybe I’ll try that on another trip, waiting until after takeoff.) So you definitely want to start out with 100% battery because your Vision Pro will be powered on from before takeoff. Before my trip, I downloaded some purchased movies from my Apple TV library, with a nice mixture of 3D as well as flat-2D films. So no worries about streaming films on spotty Wi-Fi. As the flight attendants came around to confirm dinner choices, I was already wearing the Vision Pro so I got my first encounter with strangers. It went surprisingly well! I asked them if they had experienced any other passengers wearing a Vision Pro, and they all said “no, but they had heard about it in the news or saw it at the Apple Store”. I was shocked about no other passengers wearing it before! The experience of chatting with the flight attendants really proved to me how useful and important the front-facing display with “EyeSight” is. It was clear to me that the flight attendants could see “my eyes”, and we could carry on a conversation while making eye contact. For those that think Apple should remove the front display to save cost, I think it’s a terrible idea. This is one of the great things about the Vision Pro, that you can engage with people socially while still wearing this amazing, magical tech! My AirPods Pro 2 worked totally fine during both flights. It’s basically a requirement for enjoying a movie privately without bothering the other passengers around you. Plus the sound quality is SO much better than the built-in AudioPods. You actually get a semi-decent Dolby Atmos-like experience with AirPods Pro 2. Watching movies in the Vision Pro on an airplane is a life-changing experience. You definitely have the best video & audio of anyone else on the plane. A huge 4K movie theatre screen, in 3D, with Dolby Atmos sound … and it’s portable! That’s worth the price right there. My two gripes about the Vision Pro (in general, and on the plane) are 1) the weight, and 2) the battery life. Luckily you can plug in to the power outlet on the plane and keep the Vision Pro battery topped up. Unfortunately the weight is just a “known issue” for now. You will want to take breaks between movies! All in all, I will definitely be bringing the Vision Pro with me on flights from now on. It will replace my iPad Pro for traveling. I can imagine so many useful things I could be doing with it, from productivity to entertainment. (Also don’t discount the Mindfulness app for de-stressing.)

great vid! I haven't yet used mine in a car. Thanks for the tips. I have used on airplane multiple times and there is no way I will fly without the AVP any longer. Makes the trip so much better. Nobody seems to care when I put it on. As long as you act like a normal human being, people don''t really care that you are wearing it. That's been my experience.

I had similar issues with the headphones connecting and disconnecting and had assumed it was bc they were maybe trying to connect to the phone more often when in travel mode…but now reading the person’s comment about the newer AirPods not having this issue, makes me think the issue is related to the older AirPods. I just have been holding off on upgrading bc they are supposedly releasing new ones this year. I’ll be flying to Europe in September, so I’m going to hope they have been updated by then or just get whatever is out before leaving. I’ve traveled on plane before with my VP and loved the experience overall. Took me COMPLETELY out of the normal plane experience and I dont ever want to take another flight without them. It’s just so amazing! Road trips tho have been hit or miss for me. A little too nauseating and harder to block the sounds out of the radio or other noises in the car. Not tried train yet, but when I get to Europe, I will have the opportunity (tho I may not much bc I want to watch the countryside go past). And you are right about power, having a large enough power bank will solve most of the issues, but too large and planes or cruise ships (I’ve cruised with my VP too!) may not allow it. Great video!

Hey man great video as always! I have a similar issue with my AirPods Pro constantly disconnecting and it seems to primarily happen when I’m using travel mode. This issue got so bad, I actually bought the USBC AirPods Pro since I still had the lightning ones. And now those just live in my Vision Pro case and I’ve had absolutely zero issues with those disconnecting. Definitely a more expensive solution but if you’re a frequent traveler it’s definitely worth it. Looking forward to your future videos, keep up the great work!

Great video. But re your suggestion to bring a USB-A to USB-C cable, does USB-A have enough juice to keep the AVP battery charged?

You should try the KKCOBVR halo-style headstrap. It’s a big improvement over the Apple straps, even supplemented with an add-on. I attached a horizontal mobile phone holster to the back of the KKCOBVR headstrap, & now my AVP battery is suspended behind my head. It’s a lot more convenient than having the battery clipped to my waistband, & balances out the headset. I attached a short 240W male-to-female USB-C pigtail cable to the AVP battery to make it easy to connect/disconnect from a power bank or my 100W Baseus 100W AC adaptor (you didn’t talk about your AC adaptor in this video). It allows me to use the AVP barefaced, without the light guard,resulting in a wider FoV (I’m careful to avoid letting sunlight hit the lenses when doing this). The Baseus Edge power bank gives me ~3.5 hours of extra battery life & fits in my back pocket. I use a short 240W male-to-male USB-C cable to connect it to the pigtail adaptor on the AVP battery.

So insightful! The reminder to capture spatial photos on trips really resonates-it's easy to overlook in the moment, but reliving those memories in 3D is incredible. I've noticed iPhone-captured spatial photos on Vision Pro feel less realistic than spatially converted 2D photos in visionOS. Have you compared native Vision Pro captures to spatially converted 2D ones?

I have it and used it , it does improved the confort but the only thing I don’t like it is when watching movies and lay my head back ..

Very interesting because I hated the dual loop and in fact I only find the solo loop to be comfortable!

I use my AVP as a replacement for physical monitors, personal entertainment and being to have unlimited iPads that I can dynamically resize.

I've tried all of them and none of them are very beneficial. I am currently using combination of a Spigen, a Syntech in front of the Spigen that provides support on the forehead and Solo knit band. This has been the most comfortable for me but I have noticed that I pull the Solo knit band down a lot to keep the device from pressing to much on my cheeks. Interestingly, I just ordered some small weights that I plan on attaching (somehow) to the Solo knit band to see if that helps. For me the whole strap design that focuses on the tabs behind the speakers is the wrong approach. The center of gravity if about 1/2 inch back from the device along the side bars and this is where the fulcrum of head strap should be placed. I am very interested in how ResMed device works, but since most CPAP is worn while sleeping, not sure whether the design will work...but the addition of placeable weights may prove fruitful.

Annapro 2 - look no further. Absolutely change the experience for me - can use it now without the light seal which makes it lighter and can wear it entire day with little to no fatigue.

Is there any way to watch this "Apple Experience Immersive" demo video on quest 3? Or some "ripped" video here on youtube VR ? I watched it on a 30min demo in a Apple store from a trip, and I would to show to my kids and my family, but, without a Apple Vision in fact :-( .

With watching films. Do you get lots of glare/smudge in dark environments? And when you move your head around? Ruins the experience a little.

This looks great! I’m hoping in Vision OS 3, that they allow you to add “environments” to your main environments so that you can use them with any app! Similar to be able to download desktop backgrounds.

I love the combo, I can run a command center from a coffee shop. I can orchestrate dozens of simultaneous real-time conversations using SoftEXIT Groups, a native app for AVP. I get my news feeds from the same app, it's amazing.

Currently rocking a Quest 3 but keeping an in the vision pro and hoping a future vision headset will be far more affordable 🙏

Completely agree!!! It's crazy but so good to hear others have come to the same point as I have. I sold my iPad too as it was just collecting dust. I got a Macbook instead of a iMac or a Mini when it was time to upgrade there. And the same for the home theater as it was mostly a me thing! I'm the one who uses it most of the time and my family couldnt care less if it was a 55" vs an 85" or 55' super duper OLED QLED LMNOP 4k 8k 999K whatever display. So although it's about the time I usually look into upgrading it all, I am not interested anymore bc of the Vision Pro. I'll just keep the family happy in the theater room and I'll be happy with my Vision Pro. Never thought that spending that 4k on the Vision Pro would lead to such other choices that would save lots of money elsewhere to about justify it's huge price. It's awesome to hear that others are feeling the same!
