    I do understand that you posted these tutorials transitioning from Maya to Unreal. May i know, Will LiveLink work if We work on creating an environment from Unreal and LiveLink it into Maya(Since it will automatically set as an FBX.However, Material wise, Def UE5 and Maya work independently. Since making Terrain and Foliage have more freedom in Unreal Engine as you can go over the max rather than in Maya(Personally making FX in maya does take a heavy toll for the whole scene),

    Hey I am completely new to Maya, so sorry if this is a stupid question. I am using Maya 2025 and trying to do a liquid sim via bifrost. I spawn a sphere and then when I go to the bifrost fluids drop down at the top and click on liquid under create. I don't get any liquid to be emitted. Despite an emitter having been created. I have check everything. Nothing seems to work.

    I feel like a kid, but I got all three operations to connect and work: object position, objecting scaling, and normal scaling (just by networking / layering Add nodes). I want to try to get rotation in there next. Awesome video bro. One of the best Bifrost explanations I've seen to date. (JMM71 also does a decent job, and the Maya learning channel has a great tutorial on the Bifrost graph... but finding good tutes on any subject is not always easy... but you did a great job sir!).

    I had been tweaking so many settings endlessly trying to fix this and with the units explanation you solved it for me! I had no idea it used different units from Maya's settings so I assumed I wouldn't change the gravity setting unless I was trying to do a space liquid sim!

    Great tutorial, but wanted to clear up about modeling and rigging in an A pose Vs T-pose. From what I've experienced, it helps the model deform better when rigging in an A pose Vs T pose. The armpits deform better and have less material bunching up under the pits and the arms are in a more natural position, so when twisting the arms the rig is already in a more natural position where the T pose you usually will have edge flow that creates pinching in the forearms and loss of volume in the arms. Some of this has been eased in the dual quaternion skinning. In classical skinning, the volume was harder to maintain in a twist.

      no problem to model and rig in the A-pose. The t-pose is requirement and 'thing' that HumanIK preferred for years. It likes characters in the T when doing the initial characterisation and setup, as it helps the solver. So model and skin in the A-pose, then just rotate the joints into the T for HumanIk. Should be fine.

    with the same file and using Maya 2024, when i select sequenceDressing.usd layer under USD layer editor, and then go and add the bare variant of the refrigerator, it gives me an error of like cannot edit variant selection attribute because there is a stronger opinion in some layer. Not sure what that is or anything as i did it with the same kitchen file and the same edits as you did. Any idea why this would happen?

    Another issue.. The liquid sim is not bouncing off of my collision plane. I goes through it. I remade the plane, got rid of my previous collide nodes, reset it to collide, all to no avail... several times. Finally, I made a sphere, and that the liquid bounces off of. Any ideas?

      you can export FBX from Unreal, but not every element will come across.

    Something that all users should learn to do, as the #1 MUST DO "basic fundamental", is to set your project directory from the file dropdown menu (File > Project > Set Project) at the beginning of any project and then set the project window (File >Project > Project Window) to create a structured project directory (autosaves, scenes, sourceimages, etc.) where all your assets will be saved to, rather than defaulting to the Maya Default project directory folder. Setting up a project directory and enabling autosaves with intervals (with/without incremental iterations) of 5-10 mins as a minimum, will result in better file recovery in the event of a crash. Sometimes Maya doesn't register the crash when it force-closes automatically due to RAM reasons, corruption, faulty drive, etc.. Plus, you can enable the option for the autosave to ask you if you want to save, so it doesn't catch you off guard mid simulation or some other complex task(s) that might freeze up your machine. Albeit the minor inconvenience of interrupting you every so often for the sake of safety and progress.

    Changing the gravity and density value to compensate for inability to set Bifrost working unit feels like a workaround. Autodesk should make it easier to set working units for Bifrost. Every cm is still a meter for Bifrost right? We just forced gravity and small density value.
