It's a Marvin 362 series. In 1850 the brothers Marc and Emmanuel Didisheim established the company of M & E Didisheim in Saint-Imier to manufacture pocket watches. The Marvin brand was registered 1893, at first as "The Marvin Watch Co. of Springfield" to export Swiss watches to America with a brand name that would appeal to American customers, or perhaps even fool them into thinking that they were buying an American watch. All the best Alec

I watched. I liked. I subscribed. My maternal Grandfather purchased a 30 jewel MuDu on the day that his first child, my Mother, was born. He gave me that watch on Sunday 22nd May 1994 after a wonderful lunch at a nice restaurant in Matlock. The following morning at 08:30, he sadly passed away. And so started my keen interest in unusual and predominantly vintage watches. I think we need to have a chat? So an email will be finding its way towards you in the next hour or so.

The problem with these is that there is always the possibility of confusion at the "top of the hour" when telling the time. Which reminds me that I have a very nice jump hour watch languishing in a drawer somewhere, It is in a plain, but badly scratched, chromed case and it has the best & thickest crystal that I have ever seen on a watch. I really must try and get it fixed at some point.

My old VC Overseas come with the GP COSC chronometer ultra-thin derived movement inside (you can still find it in modern Laureatos). Far better and thinner than the current VC "in-house" offering.
