    If it's made like a Vostok Amphibia automatic a fair number of the jewels are in the sprag clutches for the automatic winding mechanism.

    Ha ! I laughed out loud when you described the time between when you put in the yoke spring and put on the setting lever spring as 'waiting for it to explode ' ..... Ha Ha ..... Great stuff !!!!!!!

      An infamous villain in the Jewel Wars! Based on a 17 jewel movement with 83 non-functional jewels put around the outside of the movement in a ring.

    I knew where the additional 9 jewels were going to be found. Ruby balls are actually worse that steel ones as they are more brittle and prone to chipping.

    Whoever worked on this watch must have also worked on the Ricoh I have on my bench! So much glue!
