Best place to pick up is the end of saints row 2, you could reintroduce the villains from the third, but better done, brought in by troy and dex. You are flying off saying you own the city and get shot down. You could do a character death or keep everyone alive but it will set you up for getting everything taken and you getting taken to a new steelport or new city or stay in stillwater but that might be stale. They could have done better honestly

Deep silver were to blame for the change of saints row tbh, they tried to sjw everything and draw a bigger audience, completely forgetting that if you want to appeal to everyone, you appeal to no one. A bunch of Volition employees complained about the plot and gameplay of the reboot. And the social media guy was part of deep silver and they tried to step in all of Volitions creativity. I have inside sources that mentioned this. The 4th saints row game was meant to be in las Vegas with casinos n shit like the reboot and it was meant to have a more serious tone like SR 2, but deep silver trashed that. Volition wanted to give us what we wanted after they got the feedback of SR3 but Deepsilver got their hands too deep in it. the original SR4 was meant to be a DLC of SR 3 and not a full game, but they halted that and made it a full game because new generation consoles were being released (which is a dumb excuse tbh) but they tried to push that title of SR4 to drive up sales for the company. which backlashed heavier. Fuck deep silver tbh

Thank you for making this video. Ive had this exact same feeling ever since saints row 2's story hit me hard noticeably more than i thought it would, most of the game was lighthearted to a certain extent but things like aishas end, johnny being stabbed, the funeral where johnny ends up burying a guy alive for interrupting it with a drive by, and carlos's end i genuinely believed saints row had the potential to make better GTA styled games than rockstar, then sr3 was released and my hopes were crushed entirely.

Saints Row shot themselves in the foot and blammed it on its fans....

I just finished Saint's 3 and I'm playing Saint's 3 now, the games are really fun in my opinion

I’ve read the reboot takes place in a fictionalized version of Las Vegas. I thought it looked like Albuquerque, New Mexico because it looked so dull. And boring. 😂 I mean, the only place in the USA where gambling and prostitution are legal under state law, yet they don’t utilize it in game. Volition really has fallen off. 😢

i remember the day i pre-ordered saints row IV, only to launch it and realise that it's just a wacky game that was supposed to be a dlc for III... ironically, there are quite a lot of improvements in IV, like better customisation options in Rim Jobs, just that you wouldn't know about them because you have super powers and stuff, what a wreck

Competition is important. Now such competition no longer exists, Rockstar knows for sure that they can just sit on their asses all day while letting the GTA online money flow in.

To be fair about gta 5's progression though, nearly all of the gta games prior have been a rags to riches, so having 2 main characters who already have riches was a nice change of pace imo. And even though 4 may have been a rags to riches, I honestly think 5 does it better because you can buy properties, cars, stocks etc, compared to 4 where you don't have much to spend your money on.
