    • @SelfBuilt
      @SelfBuilt 6 дней назад

      @@victorb1782 Thank you! Are you saying the plastic housing on the cable is cracking? If you cut it off there is no way to put any back on, you'd have to replace the cable. The cracks are showing it is aging a bit. It's usually just cosmetic but I like to replace my cables every year or 2 to keep them fresh looking since I use them heavily.

    Just sold my squat rack and barbell. Downsizing, so in the market for some adjustable dumbbells. I think you basically said what worries me about some of the other "bowflex" type adjustable ones. Is the durability. I've seen way too many reviews or pictures of broken parts. So def leaning towards these. I've got an idea: you can perform 1 arm lateral raises to work the deltoids by lying down on a mat on the floor, but i guess they will feel very very heavy, if you use a heavy bar.

    Is the chair at all comfortable to sit in when not doing a massage? Or can you feel the parts? Also for width what size sportcoat would you wear, like 40? You look like you are at the max width...im a big guy at 6 4 and not sure if its big enough.

    • @SelfBuilt
      @SelfBuilt Месяц назад

      Great questions! It's not as comfortable as a normal chair but I've taken many naps in it when it wasn't on. The parts are retractable and you don't feel them when it's off. I don't know what my sport coat size is but I wear L-XL depending on the shirt. I'm 6 ft too if that helps.

    I did a diy cable system for flys to my existing cable system. It works really well at the top. My low pulleys keep having the cable slip off the channel before I can pull any weight. I have the same black pulleys you suggest here. Any recommendations on a solution to keep the cables on the pulley wheel?

    • @SelfBuilt
      @SelfBuilt Месяц назад

      @@robertlevesque830Yes I can offer some tips! It might sound counter intuitive but the bolt that goes through the pulley housing, I loosed that bolt enough that only 1-1.5 thread is poking out from the bolt and that made a big difference! Also being sure to pull the cable at ground level till there is tension before moving the handle up helps too. I hope those make sense.

    7:35 Facing away from the plate rather than sideways can also target the quads effectively. You don't need a lot of weight because it's not feasible to use heavy loads in this position. (at least i can't lift too much weight when training quads in landmine set up, it's just too much with little weight lol). On the other hand, if you face in the plate, you will target more the glutes and hams (you can also use a bumper plate as a step, or a step itself, to increase ROM)

    I tried this but the major problem i saw is that the handles dont always move same time. So if im doin it on a normal bar without the smith, im definitely slippin on the bar 😂. On the smith its a bit ok for the light weights. Those sliding grip bars in the market seem to have symmetrical handle movement. Anyway great innovation, ofcourse its fun!

    • @SelfBuilt
      @SelfBuilt 2 месяца назад

      @@HHH-yz7nh I've come to the same conclusion that they are only for smith machines or a fixed bar. Don't want super uneven sliding 😂 I've found that 100 lbs is about the max for even sliding. It makes a great finisher but you can also put resistance bands around you too to increase the weight too. I agree the bars made for it are much better but it's still a fun thing to throw in! See if bands make it better for you. I am honored that you gave it a try and hope you have a great day! 💪
