I have been getting this on my legs for a few years now. I walk a lot. I have high blood pressure. I even went to get tests for varicose veins and blood clots, was checked for MRSA, and was given antibiotics. Funny it subsided when I rub ACV on it and rest. I am 59. I am an Iwerks descendant, so I will go with Disney vasculitis. lol

I was a Postie for 24 years and I had this on several occasions. Sometimes it was a small rash above my ankle socks and a couple of times it covered my whole lower legs. It was never hot, painful, swollen or itchy but looked unsightly. I usually got it in extreme heat and prolonged walking. Now I’m retired I shall probably never have it again.

#Macabi is the overall best in travel skirts! On every Camino, I've used the two snaps on the sides to make a knee length out of my long skirt and have also used the adjustment strap to convert the skirt from pants to shorts lengths. They were brilliant when they installed that inside kangaroo pouch pocket zipper upside down, so that to open it you have to reach in, making it just a tad more secure. I'm really enjoying your videos, Annie. Buen Camino!

I’m 21 and I’ve been getting this when I travel to festivals with my friends. Im very active in my daily life but we are on our feet walking for hoursssss and I never notice it until it’s too late. It doesn’t bother me besides a slight burn / irritation when it runs against my pants but like you said it ends up clearing itself up after a day or two. I just don’t get why I’m the only person in my friend group that gets it?

Oh my!! I have had this all my adult life, but you are the FIRST person I have ever heard mention also having it. I get it every time I hike any good distance, whether it's hot or cold, in socks or sandals, short or long pants. I even thought maybe it was an allergy to my laundry detergent, as no one has been able to explain it....until now! I have tried cortisone cream, but it doesn't make much difference. I will try the alcohol next. Thanks, Annie!

Rubbish the rash with vaseline each day until the rash goes away. Vaseline sooths the rash and helps it to heal.

I got so mad on the camino after seeing all of the sh** on the camino. I learned in kindergarden that if you need to go to the toilet, you go when you can! There are villages with a bar about every 5km for most of the camino, use them! don't be a toddler. (let me be clear this is meant for everybody, but if you have a medical condition, just use the tips given here!)

Yes, you are right. My wife and i did the CF from mid September to late October 2022. It was sad to see the TPs along the trail. Never understood why ppl left them there. Although i only saw it once, there was a No 2 under a fig tree. It was in an open field near the meseta with a lone fig tree standing there. Really disgusting. We never had to do No 2 along the trail. We either would force ourselves to do it before leaving the hostel by drinking lots of water to get our digestive system moving or we would just leave and do it at a café in the next village where we would have breakfast. We typically left at 6am or 7am while still dark. Pilgrims should all have a " leave no trace" policy and figure out a way to make that happen.

I think it's from standing or sitting after walking or hiking. Ive been getting it a LOT lately. When I go on LONG (hundreds of miles) backpacking trips I dont get it but every time I drive 30 miles to where I do my training hikes I get it when I get home. The only difference is that if I do sit when backpacking I sit on the ground and the blood flows out of my legs easier but if I sit and drive home I get it. I dont have but a fraction of it before I drive home. I've had this for 20+ years and I'm only just now figuring this out. I've been a landscaper my while life and never had it from all the standing and walking at work. It's only since I started hiking in my retirement that it showed up. I think I will stop in the middle of my hikes and raise my legs and give them a massage and do it again before the 30 mile drive home to see if that helps. It's almost always gone by the next day. Mine covers most of the inside of my calf but looks sorta like a bad sun burn. The first time I got it 20 years ago I thought it was poison oak or something. That was also a long drive home after an all day hike. Applying a heat pad actually helps believe it or not because it increases circulation.
