Glad to see someone promoting the Macabi skirt! I bought my first one almost 25 years ago and now I have a collection of different colors. They are my go-to travel skirt. Love the big pockets that will hold my sketching gear. Once in Sicily I had a glass of red wine dumped in my lap. Mopped it up with napkins and I didn’t even have to wash the skirt!
#Macabi is the overall best in travel skirts! On every Camino, I've used the two snaps on the sides to make a knee length out of my long skirt and have also used the adjustment strap to convert the skirt from pants to shorts lengths. They were brilliant when they installed that inside kangaroo pouch pocket zipper upside down, so that to open it you have to reach in, making it just a tad more secure. I'm really enjoying your videos, Annie. Buen Camino!
I loooove my Macabi skirt. I wore mine daily on the Camino, only adding leggings on cold mornings. I ended up keeping my water bottle in my pocket because it was easier than hauling it out of my backpack sleeve. Water bottle and mask in one pocket and phone, hankie, coin purse, lip balm in the other. And much easier if you have to go behind a tree. Not flattering in the least, but so convenient.
I ADORE my Macabi skirts. My husband bought my 1st one as a birthday present for me. I now have 3, & thats the only skirt/pants I wear. Totally simplified my wardrobe. Add leggings in winter, & I'm ready for anything!!!😁
Although I am normally not a skirt wearer, seeing all the wonderful things come out of your pockets inspired me to go fabric shopping so I can create a hiking skirt. I am planning to start my first Camino in St Jean PdP right after Easter 2022 and would be thrilled if I meet you on the way.
The more I hear about this skirt, the more in love I become! Not particularly an ultralighter, but I am more going for not overburdening myself - do you know how much it weighs?
Recently bought my first slim and got the smallest size, that when the waistband is fully stretched out would fit over my hips. I really like the look a lot better and it is not restricting in any way.

Hope to see you on the trail!
Interesting, I m going to look into one.
Sure looks handy for sure! 😊
I am finally going to get one of these, just not sure what length. Looking at the knee length with leggings or bike shorts for warmer days.
Sheesh Patty, I'm just now, in December of 2022, seeing all these comments. Did you get your skirt? Did you like it?
This red Macabi is actually a Medium/Medium, not a Long. I'm 5'3" and weigh about 148 lbs.
Good to know. I’m 5’3” and 115. Maybe a small/medium?
I am 5’ 1.5”, 114lb, 30” waist. I get a small/short which makes it mid-calf on me.

It's nylon and basically weighs nothing
What is the material? Can men wear them and double as a rain skirt?
The material is a lightweight nylon and Men absolutely wear them, as can be seen on the Macabi website itself.
Have you tried the slim? I'd like to order but don't love all the extra material, but also I don't want any restricted movement.

I'm wondering if the longer length can be shortened to just below the knee?
The long skirts have a lot of wonderful features such as snaps on both sides with which to shorten your long skirt.
