A few years ago Costco sold down throws for about $20. I bought one and sewed a footbox in it. It weighs about 300g, and packs down a bit longer than a pop can. It's toasty enough for Sept /Oct which is when I hike.
It just has to be a personal decision based on your own comfort as well as how cold you sleep. We will be there during a range of weather from chilly to hot but most of the nights when you will need a sleeping bag will be early in the trip and I'm not sure a sleep sack would be enough. A down blanket, however, would be perfect Marcia.

I still haven’t made a decision about sleeping bag vs down blanket/sleep sack.
