Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed!
You really know your stuff. This was a fun video! :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :)
@@CurtisSnapshot :) I did make a huge mistake that I fixed now. I didn't subscribe! I'm going to check out your other vids, I don't have a full frame but rather the a6400, and I'm saving up hard for the 200 to 600 lens as its just a work of art, and I can't wait. There will be a 1.5x crop on my pics which... will help haha
Love your work ❤
I live on the other side of planet Earth and this forest looks similar in which I walk ;)
Such a relaxing and well put together video! The colors you were able to pull in these photos were incredible! Really well done Curtis!
Thanks so much! I had a lot of fun changing up the content a bit for this one!
My favourite photography wanderings are just playing around to see what you can get. Loved seeing you play around with something a bit different. I also love taking photos looking up at tree tops Two suggestions you might be interested in trying with your landscape explorations. Images with foliage framing part of the shot. And shooting portrait sometimes gets interesting photos.
@@emilylee5353 Those are great suggestions! They would’ve definitely helped add more variety… honestly, after editing 300 photos, they all started to look the same haha! Glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for commenting!
@@CurtisSnapshot Cringing at the thought of all that editing. I'm not one for editing. I'll make a few basic adjustments here and there but that is all. Love taking photos but have no interest in the post processing.
*waves from Australia * Your videos are always so peaceful and entertaining to watch Curtis! And I’m always so jealous of the fall colours, chickadees, squirrels and Owls that you come across
Greetings from Canada! Thank you so much for the kind words, I’m really glad you have been enjoying the videos and photos! 😊
chill video, awesome photos, amazing colors...

wow man this is great one of my fav parks to go to. you killed this
Much appreciated! What an underrated park, I really enjoyed exploring it again!
It's always a joy to see someone doing what they love great pictures and colors.
Thank you so much! It means a lot to hear that. I’m really glad you enjoyed the photos!
Very much like your work here Curtis! Hope your day is filled with peace , contentment and joy today!
Thank you so much, I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Hope your day is peaceful and joyful as well!
It's been a minute since my last upload, but I'm happy to finally share this one with you! I know it's a bit different from my usual wildlife focused content, but I hope you enjoy it regardless! Now, back to searching for those elusive owls...
Good review
Thank you!
I noticed you use an app to find which birds are chirping... Can I ask what the app is called.
The app is called "Merlin Bird ID" by Cornell Lab. It's super helpful! Thanks for commenting.
Very nice video
What do you think about getting de 2x with my Sony a6400 and a Tamron 18/300??
Good question! Unfortunately, Sony teleconverters are only compatible with a select few official Sony lenses. They don’t work with third-party lenses like the Tamron 18-300.
This is a fantastic video. Thank you so much. You are awesome. I can’t wait to get this lens.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Happy shooting with the new lens!
Really well done video - it showed up randomly on my front page. Our family is from Bonavista so we're out there often and I've sat in many of the same places chasing puffin pics, glad you got to experience them onshore - it doesn't always happen! Keep up the great work (I checked out your insta, lots of great wildlife images)
Thank you so much! I’m really happy I got to experience a few quiet moments with the puffins. We had a great time in Bonavista-it’s such a beautiful place with so much charm. I appreciate the kind words. Cheers!

Amazing video!!!! Love the owls
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
This is best lens review I ever seen. Images in this video very helpful. I will buy 200-600mm or 600mm lens. Thank you.
I'm really glad you found this helpful, thanks for commenting!
How fast does it print with 4x6 photo paper?
Your storytelling ability is incredible. Really well done video Curtis!
Thank you so much!
Curtis is there any chance to view the actual snapped photos you show in the video as stills in jpgs full res. You make it look it easy :)
Thank you, I really appreciate your comment! I don’t have these photos available anywhere in full res at the moment. I have considered adding a gallery to my website in the future.
Can always post on Flickr curtis
This is incredible! I have the a6000 and 210mm lens, just like you. I've had it for three weeks now. So relatable! Branches in front of the subject is its weaknes. Thanks for showing me what it can still achieve.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! With a bit of creativity, a kit setup can achieve some fantastic results. Keep at it, and happy shooting!
i have the same camera, a nice upgrade is to pair it with the 200-600mm lens. remember lens is more important than cam body
a good and honest review, great. Can you tell me which program you use to edit your video footage? And maybe make a video about how you do this would be nice. I will keep following you, greetings from Belgium Kind regards Redgy
Thank you, Redgy! I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I use Adobe Premiere Pro, but it is subscription-based. A great alternative is DaVinci Resolve, which is free to use. Both are professional video editing programs if you need that level of power. If you’re looking for something quicker to simply put clips together, Adobe Rush might be a good option as well, which does offer a basic free version last I checked. Thanks for the suggestion! I may create some tutorials in the future if I have any unique editing tricks to share; however, there are a ton of great tutorials out there. Greetings from Canada! I really appreciate your comment and hope you have a great day!
@@CurtisSnapshot Thanks for this quick response, I will try it with Davinci. I myself have been working with Sony for years, now the A1 and many lenses (200-600, 600f4 and 300f2.8 and others) and still I find your photos WOW. If I understand correctly you have not been doing nature photography for long, if that is the case then I take my hat off to your achievements. Kind regards, Redgy
@@vergrachtr I really appreciate the kind words, it means a lot! I have been into nature photography since around the summer of 2020. So roughly 4 years, and I’m really glad I found my love for it.
Do Sony Teleconverters work with the Sony a6400 and 70-350mm lens?
Unfortunately, Sony teleconverters don’t work with the 70-350mm. They’re only compatible with a limited range of lenses, which are listed on Sony’s website under each teleconverter model. However, Sony teleconverters should work with all Sony E-mount cameras, including the a6400, as far as I’m aware. Thanks for commenting!
@CurtisSnapshot thanks for reply and advice! Stops me making an embarrassing mistake!
@@ofiaich666 No problem! When I was first looking for a wildlife photography lens, I accidentally ordered a Sony A-mount lens for my E-mount camera. It was pretty embarrassing to explain that to the camera store! Haha.
I’ve heard that Fairbanks Sudbury has lots of deer
That would be an awesome trip! I'll keep it in mind. I did have a great new location for deer, and I even got some really good photos when I was out scouting the area. However, hunting season started before I could get back out and film a video there. So the search continues! haha
Does this lens work with the a6000?
Yes it does work! Although the camera is a bit dated now, there’s no issues with compatibility that I’m aware of. (I have used my old a6000 on it before).
@ thank you. I binged watch your videos. Your content is relatable and want me to start wildlife photography :) Keep going :)
@@lovelayno935 Thats so awesome to hear! I hope you get into the hobby, it's a lot of fun :)
Why not just put the camera in APS-C mode instead of >$500 for the 1.4TC? I'd rather go with 2.0TC and make sure to shoot in good light. Typos edited.
Totally fair point! APS-C mode is likely an easier option with better results (or simply cropping in post). I went with the 1.4x TC because I was hoping to increase the magnification of my subjects at the minimum focusing distance. As for why I didn’t go with the 2.0x TC, I read far too many reviews saying the combination doesn’t play well together. I’m always open to other opinions, though, teleconverters are certainly a tricky subject! Thank you for commenting; really appreciate it!
@@CurtisSnapshot I was not meaning to criticize so I apologize if it sounded like I was critizing. I had the TC2.0 and 200-600mm FE5.6-6.3 as evaluation loaner. At first I had issue focusing at minimum focus distance (7RM5) but think it was because I had AF Area set to Wide and AF-C. After I changed to AF Spot-small and to AF DMF I was able to adjust using lens focus ring and I also changed focus limiter shallowest depth (sorry I don't remember what it is). Once I made those changes AF was much snappier. Later I found article on Sony support site that addressed the issue using the settings I just documented.
wow throughly enoyed,subscribed❤️🙏
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed.
Awesome video Curtis! That chickadee photo with the Fall leaves was so beautiful! Can't wait to watch the rest of your videos!
Thank you so much, really glad you enjoyed this one!
Nice video Curtis and wow the birds are so tame! Subscribed!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video! This park is a great reset, when bird photography isn’t going well.
Great video. Thanks!
Thank you for commenting, really glad you enjoyed!
how do you record video and take photos at the same time?
Hey, sorry for the late response. I use the Sony creators app, which lets you wirelessly monitor the cameras screen on your phone, then I simply screen record that. It doesn’t work on all Sony models though. Thanks for commenting!
@@CurtisSnapshot Thanks for the reply... would be super great if you could make a shorts video about this :-)
Beautiful video. Thank you.
I’m glad you enjoyed this one! I’m excited to work on a 2024 version, thanks for commenting!
I will look forward to that one. 😊
Hi Curtis my name is Sergio I live in Italy! I have the same camera and lens as you, that is the A7IV and the 200/600!! I would like to ask you a question, please? When you put the 200/600 on the camera, that is on the bayonet, and once you have locked it, tell me if when you turn it right and left, that is holding the camera in your hand and turning the lens right and left, forcing it a little, don't you feel a little play? Because mine does and both the lens and the camera are new and I feel it even with the 24/70!! I would like to know if it is normal or if I have to send it to the service, thanks and regards.
Hey Sergio, I really appreciate the comment! I actually saw your email first and replied to that, but I’ll share my answer here as well in case anyone else stumbles across the comment and may be curious themselves. Every lens I’ve used on the A7IV has a tiny bit of play when it’s locked into place. I believe this is just the nature of metal mounts, so there’s nothing to worry about! As long as the rubber gaskets around the 200-600’s mounting point are intact, your weather sealing should work great too. But of course, if the extra play seems a bit more significant, then contacting support or visiting a local camera shop might be a good idea, for peace of mind. Feel free to email me or reply here if you have any other questions. Congratulations on the new camera and lens!
@@CurtisSnapshot Ok because they had told me that but I have been carrying it in my hand so many times because it is a bit heavy and when you lift it, it is a bit of a mess in combination with the optics and I feel that play and I didn't have it with the A7III! But if you say that you feel it too, ok, thanks.
Valid points. I am looking to buy it myself. Now I have the 2x teleconverter which is even more niche with the 200-600mm. I was considering selling it, but I am very happy with the video results it gave me in a situation where I had to be 200 meters away from my subject.
Enjoyed this review! Thank you!

Beautiful video as always Curtis ! been trying to find sandhill cranes myself, came really close near the Bradford area but due to active duck hunters must i got was an ID from merlin and audio, but in those efforts i did manage to hear a Great Horned Owl near my house on a local bridge crossing and surprising but active around 2pm so im excited to capture some owls myself and i look forward to see your next video
Sandhill cranes are so cool! This marsh is actually where I photographed my first one a few years ago. Hearing the Great Horned Owl is promising, hope you have some luck with them! Thanks for commenting, really glad you enjoyed the video!
therapy? no. hanging with chickadees? yes.
Exactly! Haha
Amazing video! Here in Australia, you would never really see a small bird land in your hand other than a super tame backyard bird. Otherwise it's all large birds like parrots that eat out of peoples hands, which I wouldn't suggest because 1 cockatoo will activate the whole flock to arrive and chaos erupts haha
Currently imagining all those chickadees that were after me, as big parrots! - I can see the chaos! Haha Really glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for commenting!
yeap, nice video ill keep watching your adventures. Thanks and cheers!
Thank you!
