  • Welcome back to episode 2 of getting closer to wildlife! In this episode I test out an afforadable 3D camouflage net and create a custom hide, will it help me get closer to wildlife and capture the elusive belted kingfisher?

I'm using the Sony a7IV and the Sony 200 - 600 G lens. I sometimes use a 1.4xTC as well. I opted out on the TC in this video though, because I wanted to prove to myself that these new techniques would get me closer to wildlife. Thank you for commenting, glad you enjoyed the video!

It’s one of the lower priced tripods from K&F concept. I replaced the tripod ball head with a gimbal from Neewer. It’s held up well for a couple years now, eventually I would like to invest in a nice sturdy tripod.

Great video. I've been after a good king fisher photo for a long time. The best one I have is on a sign right outside my car window with NASA in thebackground taken with a a 55-210 on a Sony a6000 in 2017. However, I spotted a couple, along with osprey, great blue heron and green heron in an old section of the old Ohio Erie Canal. Going to go with some camo. Thank you.

A kingfisher in front of nasa sounds awesome! That new spot sounds like it should have tons of wildlife opportunities, good luck with the photos and thank you for watching!

Why does the afro bird scream like that

    • @CurtisSnapshot

The Afro bird was calling out to the other Afro bird. You should hear it’s song, much deeper sounding and even more strange!
