    I was able to get into my pcv and replace that breather tube off the case without removing anything. When yhe enhines cold you can snake youre way in there. On the longitudinal mount. Looks like this ones even easier.

      It did one side the other was the roof weld under the trim.

    been trying to replace the gasket but it was hard to remove the only 1 bolt left of the 3** I’m still pause this iob, I’m not a mechanic but since i don’t want to go any garage or dealer anyway😂

    My Bentley manual actually says the stupid sump plug bolt should be replaced EVERY TIME you change the oil. Imagine actually doing that though.

    I've had high consumption on my mini too same engine, turbo has been replaced a year ago dpf "cleaned" so the garage said, almost a year to the day the DPF blocked up again and the high oil consumption never really went away, so I changed the pcv but didn't seem to be a noticeable change in consumption, I want to try force a regen to clear the dpf code and replace turbo actuator dpf gasket then potentially re attempt the pcv.. this is common across nearly every BMW engine for the pcv to fail fortunately as you know the non serviceable part is very easily serviceable I've done many of these now.       Video dropping in the next few days you’ll get an answer. Why not they’re all manufactured over there anyway now. I spoke with my local sports exhaust manufacturer that’s where they order their cores from for their sports cats…

      I guess I am just old school. I remember when stuff from there was considered junk, same for Japanese cars, we laughed at the first civic. My high school basketball coach had one, so one day me and three other guys picked it up and moved it, lol. He thought someone had stolen his car. It may be true that a lot of stuff comes from there now, but I avoid it if at all possible. I pay to much for repairs, but I don’t wanna hear any Sh$t if said part fails. My mechanic won’t put any parts on that are not OEM, doesn’t mean I have to get parts from him, but he won’t put any on my car that are not made to that standard. He says he can’t warranty the work, and I need a warranty

    If you have not had your car mapped yet, DONT go to Mallory Performance. If you have ANY issues afterwards they dont want to know and will actually just not answer the phone to you. Im speaking from personal experience, also check out reviews online for them. They are shit, not really a performance garage, please mate, take it somewhere else.

    Nice vid documenting the problems that always seem to snowball when working on these mk1s! A quick question on the master cylinder bleeding, did you also attach the bleeding pipe kit to each one?

      Hi I couldn’t get a spanner into the bleed nipples as there is no room so had to use a socket and extension and just let it bleed out and wash it down after. Thanks for following 👍

    Are the Rear Springs upside down?! Front strut you can unload the clamp of the kluckle assembly with a Split dorn or bit.

      I’ve seen other people use them but it’s just another tool to own 🤦‍♂️ no the rear springs are correct I checked them with stance themselves as I didn’t have the instructions. Thanks for following 👍

      Mines currently off having the Abs sorted. Turns out previous owner put a fwd auto abs in a manual Quattro. (Sigh). I’m about to drop my first TT build video on RUclips today as well on my simracing channel.

    I have the N47 1.6 engine in my mini and not noticed any drop in engine oil but have noticed oil residue round the rocker cover. can this just be the gaskets on there way out? its a 2012 london edition

    Good video mate. Ive got a mk1 225 as well, just fun cars and cheap these days. Mines on 155k still runs sweet and pulls like a train. Yours looks to be in better nick over all I’d say than mine

    Hi fantastic video. Having this problem at the moment and I was quoted 700 pounds to get fixed when all I need to know is what the best sealant to use is? Also if the problem still occurs at the top of the boot there are weld sports that break where the water runs down from the roof. I am really glad I bought a Ford fiesta never has this trouble with any other car 🤦‍♂️😅

    I just purchased 2003 TT 225 with the same problem. We thought it was the gasket between the turbo and manifold, we replaced the gasket. First test drive no problem but 2nd test same problem. I have a forged 007 I’m going to install it soon I’ll let you know how it goes.

    If you don't know the history of the car, I would start with spark plugs and and check the coil pack connectors while you're doing it. My experience is these 1.8T's need good plugs. Good find of a car too. Congrats.

    I would say from experience, it's either the injectors, dpf could be also causing issues for the sensors and car would try to compensate over fueling. Most don't understand DPFs, very easy when you know how. Most don't clean them proper either. Top tip all diesels when regening the side mirrors heat up it's in the coding, so never switch off during a regen. Best person for DPFs is ORiley's on here look him up he is by far thee best. Carbon cleaning doesn't work, he shows you the best way by far. As said most don't do it correctly and still charge. The water leaks are lower behind the bumper, 👍

      Don't allow any mobile mech or anyone with software to force a regen, if ever needed, because trust me it ain't needed and actually quite dangerous. Defo looks like maybe over or under fueling. Use live data to check, read the values on cylinders, exhaust gasses, differential pressure sensor etc.

      This model doesn’t have a DPF if only it did I don’t mind them…I think it’s just generally that sooted up a good run should help and maybe some egr cleaner now it’s been cleared we will see. I can’t see it getting through MOT emissions if it doesn’t clear. I’m going to give it a spirited drive on way to MOT Wednesday see what happens. At least it’s accelerating properly now…
