    What kind of fingerboard is that? Maple?

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic

      No, I believe it is a a rosewood fretboard. The guitar is a 1998 Ephiphone Les Paul Jr. Made by Samick in Indonesia at the time. It actually took a horrendous fall one time. I glued the headstock back on, and gave it custom Olive/Army green paint job. Plays great!!

    I confused between strobe & needle mode difference. And term chromatic tuner. This model can called chromatic?😂

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic 22 дня назад

      Needle mode is the "standard" and very fast. . For an extremely accurate tuning, use strobe mode. I use strobe mode for intonating the guitar only. Chromatic means the tuner will recognize all the notes of the chromatic scale. All 12 pitches. Hope that helps. Dont forget to subscribe! Thanks. Rock on!

    Good demo. Which one of those files do you prefer?

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic Месяц назад

      They are both great. If it's your first file, I would recommend the fret guru Dagger 2.0 or one of the FULL size Z-files. The compact Z file file is great for the higher frets over the body. But, becaue of the compact size, it can get un-comfortable to hold for long periods. I really like the FretGuru 2.0. The Stew Mac stufff is real nice too, plus they have a lifetime warranty, so if it goes dull, send it in for a replacement. Can't go wrong with either. I want to get one of Fret Guru "Diamond" Daggers as well to try out. Hope that helps, Rock on!

    This tool seems to leave a flat fret top, so I would think they would need recrowning and polishing in that spot, right?

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic Месяц назад

      Yes sir, a crown and polish is needed after. Great for touch up jobs where only a couple, or a few frets are too high and causing buzz. If the frets are a disaster, it's time to get the long fret leveling beam out and sand all the frets level. Hope that helps. Thanks for stopping by bud, Don't forget to subscribe. thanks, keep rockin!

    That one that you Sharpied... looked to me like the very end was not seated. I think I'd have tried whacking that one with a brass or plastic hammer. I have had that work before and you don't remove material, and no recrown is needed.

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic Месяц назад

      Good looking out, but I always try the hammer first. I got a Stew Mac Deadblow, and a gunsmith hammer just for that! Liike you mentioned, Sometimes you get lucky and the frets will hammer in further. Good, solid advice. Keep Rockin'!

    :35 eh.... It's not saturated sounding enough ... not enough sustain where it seems to blossom and last a long time and all I can say is that you are STILL chasing the brown sound. :) I don't own any real amps so I use guitar rig and revalver and I'm checking out the Tonex profiles which sound really good. That way you can just try every amp head/dist box/cab/mic and eq and get something pretty damn close IF you use your ears and tweak and try and I bet now they have a few of those sounds cloned into the Tonex/Amplitube/Axe FX/Kemper etc. anyway, keep rockin!!!:35

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic

      The chase continues! If I can get some free time, I'll try some more fine tuning and make another video. Yeah man, I like some of the digital stuff as well. I used some amp plugins on my last album. They are getting really good sounding! Yeah, they have all that stuff cloned already. It is almost too easy now, haha. Thanks for stopping by, Rock on

    • @TruthSurge
      @TruthSurge 2 месяца назад

      @@BrunoFreitasMusic yep, it isn't exactly the same as playing through a loud amp but lots of people don't have a place for that and you can only buy so many amps unless you're rich. I found that no matter what amp head, dist box and cab and mic I used, I still needed to reduce some of that 1K to 3K area of the frequency spectrum and maybe even boost a tad of say 6K to get the sound closer. Taking out a little 2K give or take say... 4db will smooth the sound a lot. Not sure if you tried that but anyway... just try stuff. That's what I did. Turn knobs and see if it gets closer or farther from your target. Oh, and compare to an isolated track of whatever VH song you think is a good sound. Good luck!!!

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic 2 месяца назад

      @@TruthSurgeYeah, I prefer tube amps, but I also gig with Boss Artist/Katana amps. Light weight and convenient! They sound great too. Stilll tweaking the JCM 2000, its newish to me. The isolated tracks are awesome for that, but the tones differ so much between songs/albums it's hard to target Ed's tone. You almost have to copy tones 1 song at at time. Been runnning the Lead 1, and Lead 2 channels lately on the JCM, but I'm going to experiment with the Classic gain "crunch" channel (more like a plexi) and boost that channel with a pedal. The high end is the hardest to copy for me. It's bright and has that sizzle and bite, but it's not harsh and overly bright. Thanks bro! Rock on!!

      It is a bit expensive, but totally worth it to me. Especially with the lifetime warranty. If it ever dulls, etc. I can trade it in for a brand new one. You could improvise and probably build one with a regular fret rocker and strips of sandpaper. If you do go that route, be careful mate, and practice/test it on a shitty guitar first. haha. Good luck to you, and don't forget to subscribe, Rock On!

      @@richardmalar9380 I appreciate you man. The pickups are Ibanez stock v8 v7. I'm mostly a Les Paul guy, but for the Van Halen stuff, I use a beater Ibanez RG partscaster(used in this video), or a Charvel So Cal build. I've been messing with the Lead II channnel lately, and have found some more brownish tones without using my 6 band EQ. Yes, still happy with them!I love these. One note, if you get them, don't over-tighten the keystone/ tulip screws. I did and got a hairline crack on one. @@steveb7714 Yes tension adjustment, or changing out the keystone. I was used to the metal ones, and tightening the shit out of the those because I like a tight feeling tuner. The screw runs through the center like a skewer. I over did it on one the the plastics. 😂. Just a tip, so you won't do the same. I tried his settings at my last gig and it sounded nice as well. Flanger and Phaser in the front of the amp Delay/Reverb in the EFX Loop 6 band EQ Pedal in the EFX Loop to fine tune the amp The tone was pretty damn close already, but the the MXR EQ Pedal was the icing on the cake. It has a very SLIGHT mid scoop. (Happy smile curve). Dip 400k and 800k just a little, And slightly boost 1.6k and 3.2K. I listened to Ed’s isolated guitar tracks and did an A/B test in the room, and tried to replicate that with EQ pedal. But all rigs are different, and there are WAY too many variables with just gear. And then the human element. Hope that helps bro! Don't forget to subscribe, thanks. Rock on!
