      Yeah they kick ass! I'm happy with the locking stability, easy string changes, ratio, and looks. Thanks Tim!

    Poundcake, yes rock n roll Bruno. That was the nicest way to ask for subscribers so I did. Very nice idea. I put a set of these on my Gibson SG 60s Custom Shop thick neck not the pencil neck on the regular standard and that super pencil neck 60s reissue. Great video thank you. I have the vibra tail peice which is heavy, so for the normal neck dive mine was the opposite on my CS SG. The weight of these tuners made for excellent balance as well, and my SG does not neck dive now when just hanging on my tiny frame. I like that 3 piece neck it looks like. Do not see many of these on a Gibson. Some people might cringe at that but the ESP USAs, I have one and Japan made ESP really good ones have 3 piece necks. THEY ARE STABLE and very rarely need a truss adjustment during Spring to Winter changes. At least with mine I never have to adjust. I do run a dehumidifier at 45 in my house though. So that might help a bit. I do that really for fret sprouts though and better sleeping with dryer constant humidity with no major changes. Have a good one. Great video and hope your still jamming and enjoying your 70s Gibson Les Paul. Its a really nice vintage specimen. The tuners do look really nice and the keys are sweet.

      Yeah! Thank you. 😉 Nice, SG's are cool! Going to get one someday. Glad you got the SG balanced out. It works for Angus, and he has a small frame as well. Yeah its a 3 piece neck. Gibson started doing that in 1969. This one is a 1969, it has no volute, and a short neck tenon. Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm still jamming and enjoying this beauty! Working on my 2nd album. Over half way done. Yeah, they work great, and look nice. Take care. Rock on!

    Hey there back. I just got a set after watching your video. I did not do the locking ones. The locking ones now were over 109 bucks and the standard were 51 bucks best price I could find during June and the 2023 year of rock. Thank you for the information. I had the stock Gibson Deluxe 50s vintage style and they were junk to stay in tune. These with the 19:1 and your video I am hoping is as good for my Les Paul. I did not realize the grover rotomatics still fit without drilling a new hole. It just uses one of the old holes and lines up fine. I had no idea about that. If these don't work our for me I might try the locking grover rotomatics, but I am thinking from your review and what I have read on some music stores and such they will be excellent. I would have got the lockers like you chose to, but money is so tight now and 60 bucks will buy alot of strings.🎸 Hope yours are still working great and your guitar is playing good.

      Yeah, no problem! I like them so much that I bought another set and put them on my other work-horse, a 2000 Gibson Les Paul Classic (1960 Reissue). This one had the smaller tuner holes. I could have gotten the "push in" bushing style tuners for a drop in fit, but I decided to ream/drill the holes out bigger to allow it to fit the larger threaded collar bushing (10mm). Some Gibsons have 8.8mm holes and some have 10mm holes. Best thing to do is remove one and measure the hole with a digital caliper. Grover is great as well. I have a set on one of my acoustic guitars. Solid! Can't go wrong with Kluson or Grover. I think you'll like them. Down the road you can always go with locking, after you wear these out. Still working great, and the guitar is in tune and smooth as butter! Thanks, rock on bro!

    One year later - how do you like 'em? I've ordered a set in anticipation of the Gibson Deluxe tuners on the 2006 LP Studio Premium Plus I just bought being worn out.

      I love them! I have 3 sets. They do a fantastic job. They feel solid, hold tune, and make string changes quick and easy. Some advice - don't overighten the tulip tuning keys! If you really crank down on them, you will get a hairline crack in the plastic. Good luck. Don't forget to subscribe, thanks!

    Can anyone explain to me the difference between g series and m6 135? I want to replace tuners on my epiphone les Paul Studio 1997...

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic  Год назад

      Schaller makes the M6 135. They are locking as well, and seem to be close in spec. The only noticeable difference I can see is that the Schallers use only 1 screw on the back of the headstock to secure the tuner body. Check your Les Paul Studio and see if you have 1 or 2 screws on the back side of the tuner, and buy new tuners that will line up with your existing holes. Also the hole in the headstock that the tuner posts go through need to be the same bore size. Vintage style is a bit smaller and uses press in bushings. The modern tuner holes are a bit bigger, and are secured on the front of the headstock with hex nuts. Use an accurate ruler or better yet, a digital caliper, to verify sizes etc. Good luck. Hit the subscribe! Rock on!

    One year later... still happy with them?

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic  2 месяца назад

      Yes, still happy with them!I love these. One note, if you get them, don't over-tighten the keystone/ tulip screws. I did and got a hairline crack on one. They are some kind of plastic I did get some replacements though. Lesson learned. If you get the metal keystones, you wont have to be as carefull. Cheers!

      @@BrunoFreitasMusic Great, thanks ! What are the keystone / tulip screws for? Tension adjustment on the winding peg?

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic  2 месяца назад

      @@steveb7714 Yes tension adjustment, or changing out the keystone. I was used to the metal ones, and tightening the shit out of the those because I like a tight feeling tuner. The screw runs through the center like a skewer. I over did it on one the the plastics. 😂. Just a tip, so you won't do the same. I actually have 3 sets of these exact tuners on 3 different Gibson Les Pauls. Worth every penny.

      @@BrunoFreitasMusic May have actually done that on my current set because, like you I prefer a tight feel to the tuner and they always seem to
      loosen up over time. Thanks again for your advice, will be subscribing.

    I will assume it's a direct drop for usa Gibson 335 ?

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic  Год назад

      Maybe. If you have 10mm holes with the hex nut collar, they will drop right in. If you have "vintage" style tuners with the the press-fit bushings, those holes are a bit smaller (8.8mm). For 10mm holes use the ones I installed in the video. If your guitar has smaller holes (vintage style tuners), get these instead.

      Double check your hole size before you order!! That way you get the right parts! Thanks, Rock on
