  • Here's a quick review of the Squier Jazzmaster Classic Vibe 60's guitar. Some basic specs. Then a demonstration of the Fender designed Alnico pickup and some TONES! This guitar has a lot "bang for the buck". Thanks for watching!

    Anytime you say alright, all I hear is Matthew McConaughey in Dazed in Confused saying, “Alright Alright AlRIGHT!” 😄 Seriously though, great video. You really demonstrated the core sounds of the instrument in a deliberate and concise way. Not just 5 minutes of the same widdly-diddly. Thanks!

    Yeah, great review man I wish every guitar review was like this is the whole dynamic of the guitar. Very cool very impressed.

      Thanks Arcane! Yeah man, Iv'e been digging this guitar! I did a few tweaks. I adding a .5 degree shim to the neck pocket, a killswitch, a treble bleed circuit, and sanded down the neck finish with some 600 grit, just to name a few. Also gave it a proper setup, and did some fretwork. Plays like butter now. I'll probably end up making an updated video down the road, to showcase the "mods". Rock on bro!

    A shout out to my buddy Tim. He said something a long the lines of "Hey , BEFORE you start modifying this thing and turning it into a Frankenstein, you should do a review of it in stock/factory form". Good idea Tim.... Thanks bro!

      the classic vibe squires are almost too nice to mod! I got a harley benton JA60 and put in the 65 reissue Fender parts then added a bigsby style vibrato

      @BrunoFreitasMusic  8 месяцев назад

      @@juffurey Very cool man! I was considering getting the JA60 and using the body, and some of the parts to build a JM. I have a spare Mex strat neck that I was going to slap on. But, found this one used and mint condition for a fair price! I've done a few mods already. The must-have mod for any of my guitars is to sand down the the finish on the back of the neck. I hate glossy necks! Much prefer a satin style (smooth) finish on all my necks! That was the first thing I did to this neck. What a difference!

    just got one of these the jazz circuit sounds so good

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah very warm sounding! That circuit puts the "Jazz" in the Jazzmaster. It's similar to rolling back the tone knob. Great budget guitars, they just need a proper setup for maximum playability! Cheers

    are you using factory pickups?

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic  3 месяца назад

      Yeah these are stock. I just adjusted the height a bit to balance them out.
      Later on, I installed a treble bleed. I would recommend that mod for this guitar. Rock on man!

    What string brand do you have? I put mine GHS strings 9.42 but they sound a lot brighter than your guitar although we have the same guitar. We do exactly have the same guitar yet mine sounds a lot more brighter to a point where it becomes disturbing when playing lead. Im looking anything but Elixir because Elixir kills my touch on the guitar, i can never get used to it.. Tried many times

      @BrunoFreitasMusic  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hey there, I'm using Ernie Ball 9-42 Super Slinky! Yes it is a bright guitar. I had to roll back the treble on my amp a bit. Also, use the "Tone" knob on the guitar. Roll it back just a little! Good luck 🙂

    Doesn`t sound impressive. I pair of better pickups could help to get more clarity of tone i assume

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic  9 месяцев назад +1

      What don't you like about the pickups? They sound great to me, especially for the price of the guitar. Personally, I'm not going to spend $200.00 on aftermarket pickups for a guitar that I bought used for $250.00. Tone is subjective, so do what makes you happy! Good Luck

      Indeed the pickups are great on these squier. There can be a lot archieved with pick up heights for different nuances.

    • @BrunoFreitasMusic
      @BrunoFreitasMusic  8 месяцев назад

      @@marcohermans3207 Yes! When I got mine the neck pickup was way louder and it was out of balance. After a quick tweak of the height, and angle, got it sorted out. I installed a "treble bleed" mod too, which made a huge difference in clarity. Before, It got really dark when rolling back the volume. Not any more. Tons of clarity now!
