I love it whenever Lee jams with Danish Pete. He always seems to bring out the best in the Captains playing whenever they're together. Just my two cents
The Jazzmaster is the most underrated guitar out there. Unfairly typecast as the surf machine the JM is so much more. Everyone should try one before they hang up their pick.
I haven’t thought about getting a Squire guitar in many years, but the Jazzmaster has me seriously considering doing so. The more I hear one played, the better I like the sound and the looks.
I felt the same way about the brand “Squier” and recently purchased a 40th Anniversary gold edition Jazzmaster. It’s an exceptional guitar from a build standpoint and the electronics are good right out of the box but that is the one area I might consider upgrading in the future. Overall I’m very happy with the purchase.
Sometimes I walk the streets at night collecting dog shit which I like to bring home and put in my toilet bowl. I just sit there for hours on end flicking the water with my pinky to make it ripple and breathing in as hard as I can, thats when I really feel at peace with myself.
@@mrnobody3276 dude, that was the greatest pick me up ever. Haha. Did you write that yourself or had you seen it somewhere and wanted to recontribute it?
I own a seafoam green FSR squire which I played against two fender variants. The squire was every bit as great as the fenders for half the price. My squire has also been professionally set up and had a fret dress. It’s just perfect!
1:40 and onwards you can tell captains playing is so good it gets better all the time, and Pete's playing is also amazing. Keep it up. 👍 For me personally, I don't shred, I much prefer slow blues type stuff, and I love when people play with feel.
Bought a loaded J. Mascus Squier body (new for 3 bills), put a compound radius Warmoth neck on it with staineless jumbo frets (solves the brdige radius/ neck radius issue) swapped for VIntage 65 pickups......perfectomundo! Good as a US (maybe better) for way less. Jazzmasters are awesome.
If I am completely uninterested in the topic, I still sometimes watch just to hear all of you play. This was the best yet. Get these two recorded properly. Thanks! -Orlando, Fl
Mart Rich peavey roadster or roadstar (something like that, a cheap really loud solid state amp would work), rat, big muff, and whatever effects you’d want to play around with, drumsticks, jazz masters, Jaguars, mustangs, and guitars with unorthodox tunings and string arrangements. Basically, offset (with or without mods, price doesn’t matter too much), really loud solid state amplifiers, tons of effects pedals, and weird creative tunings and playing styles.
That rosewood neck is something else! wow! We did a shootout on our channel between the squier jazzmasters and the classic vibe was well ahead. Such amazing value.
Omg I think I just hit a new astral plane with that intro. Was trying to decide between this and a tele but man, I think the jazzmasters might fit me perfectly.
The lead circuit uses 1MOhm pots, the rhythm circuit 250kOhm, which alters the Q or treble spike of the pickups. It's really simple, but really effective. Similar in result to the bridge pickup on a strat not having a tone control. I think the tone capacitor is different too but that has very little effect with the tone all the way up.
I loved the intro song. The Captain has gotten so much better at his playing. This was beautiful. I'd take the Squier over the Fender, if only for the savings. The sound quality is not worth price difference. The outro was pretty tight as well.
I love Squier over the past few years or so, but it really annoys me with the Jag and JM how they put warmer pickups in them than the Fenders. They're meant to be bright jangly guitars!
Funny because I love the pickups on the Squier versions! Really surprised me because I was expecting the pickups to be the first thing that would need changing.
It depends on the model. The Classic Vibe JM has excellent pickups which sound exactly as they should. Some of the other affordable Jazzmasters (such as the J Mascis) have either P90s under JM bobbins, or cheap duncan designed pickups. CV Jazzmasters are spot on.
I did buy the Squire classic vibe Jazzmaster. It required a neck shim and a setup, but it now sounds and plays great. Lower quality build then classic vibe Telecaster from China
OMG I want that Shell Pink full Rosewood Neck Jazzmaster; although I wish it were a Strat or Tele instead. I just grabbed a FSR American Pro Strat in Daphne Blue with Roasted Maple Neck & Fretboard (Canada & European markets exclusive)-- love it.
I love most of the intros but I really feel y’all are at your most creative with the Jazzmaster more videos featuring them would lead to great things I’m sure
last minute or so was actually a pretty good demo for jazzmasters. They do tend to get used by alternative bands like sonic youth, dinosaur jr and MBV. Glad that the entire closing jam was not just palm muting rhythm and shred solo leads on top
I expect great things from Pete, and he delivers, it's a given, but I'm compelled to acknowledge the atmospherics in the captain's playing in this video it is one for the vault, rave on
This is one of the best openings ever. When Pete was playing the octave higher than the Captain that was sick. The progression kinda sounds like Coldplay. That’s the kind of progression I could play over for hours.
I have always been intrigued by the look of a Jazzmaster, but man... that first opening jam you two played, that gave me some serious Van Halen "Ride The Wind" vibes. Those slow, super-melodic riffs just oozed with soul. I think I'm going to have to seriously consider adding one of these gems to my arsenal. Beautifully done, you guys. Just absolutely brilliant.
12:31 Talking about the whizzo buzz stop bar. I have one installed on my jaugar. It's great. Adds a little chunkyness to the feel (which I tend to like).
Ok I usually google specs while y’all demo in the background on RUclips since my video will continue playing while I’m on Safari… this time I had to click back as the intro memorized me! This one has to be one of the best 🤘well done chaps
Hopefully I'm not the only one who cranked up the volume, turned off the lights, started the smoke machine in the living room and felt like the sounds were just blowing me away like the winds on high grass field during that intro...or this world is doomed!!! 😆😆👍👍It was a blast guys! Hats off Mr Peter Honoré!! Very melodic vibes there!!
Ah the JazzMaster So misunderstood so oddly shaped and yet anything Pete plays I immediately feel like I have to have it. Great playing from both of you of course.
I would love it if fender did an alternative reality Brian May inspired guitar. Like a tele custom with a jazzmaster tremolo and Stratocaster pickups and a custom control layout
i have to agree. Reverb.com has a video comparing about 7 Teles, from the bottom of the line CV up to a ‘59, and the next one after the CV , which goes for 800-1000, a MIM, doesnt sound so far off from the CV.
I just bought this exact fender used, and it's better in every way than my J mascis squier (which is already a great guitar). the sound, tuning stability, the way the trem responds, the whole feel of the guitar are all a step above. Is it worth spending like 4 times the money.. to me yes, but that is definitely arguable. but to say you're just paying for the decal I definitely can't confirm
@@BoltRM you have a point, if you actually have use for the rhythm circuit. it's just a very dark sounding version of the neck pickup, which I don't know what you would want that sound for. I guess if you actually play jazz or something. I find it handy as a kill switch though if you roll the volume all the way off on that circuit
Give me Jazzmasters with the original rhythm circuit over the new Fenders without, *everytime* ! 💪 Why would I want less versatility? And at 1/4th the price?? 🤯

Don't like Jazzmasters, so nearly didn't watch this video. Glad I did. The opening jam is one of the best I've seen. Such tones. How playing. Very Jazzmaster. WOW
The dark fingerboard and headstock are just beautiful
I like Petes jeans.
Riccardo Zamprogno Thise limited american pros are the best
Yeah, that pink guitar is sweet.
Colored headstock sucks. But the dark color is bang on
Yeah, it's beautiful. Almost enough to justify the price difference :)
I feel like I need a cigarette after that intro loop, and I don't even smoke.
Smoke up Johnny!
And whisky
😆 I smoke and I feel like I should quit after that one
Lol! Right? I do smoke, but good call on that comment.
I just quit smoking and im telling you, there's nothing fun about being enslaved by it.
INTRO JAM MY GOD!! It was great!
agree pete an captain need to play guitar together more they play awesome together
Yeah id buy it!
Yes, quite beautiful.
Pete's got a great ear.

Thanks to Danish Pete and Lee for playing music abit more appropriate to the jazzmasters strength

Danish Pete, King of the Looper.
I wonder if they used the TC Electronic Ditto there?...
Great track

If that isn't THE SINGLE BEST INTRO JAM EVER! Then I don't know what is
Jay Russell absolutely
I totally agree!
Their Squier mustang jam dethroned this one a few months ago
IMHO nothing has ever topped the Semi Hollow Body Shootout with Ariel and Pete

Which compound? The 16” or 14”? How do ss frets solve the bridge radius issue? Plan on doing a tone demo? Thanks
@@Hexspa I think he means the compound radius fixes the neck radius issue-- the problem being with low action, damp strings against adjacent frets.
Fuck. What a great moment in music and Andertons' history. Great playing!

That closing jam was totally Sonic Youth - now there's an idea for Sound Like .....

It happened! Andertons made the Jazzmaster justice! Great video, great sounds, great presentation. Been waiting for years for this one :)
Opening jam reminded me of "Maggot Brain" by Funkadelic
I looked for this comment so I didn't have to leave it.
now that you mention it, yes!
I love what Lee does with the feedback in the end jam
The master of the looper! Pete never let's us down.time after time, again and again he tends to bring out the very best of the looper.simply fantastic!
Damn that intro was unbelievable! Both the cap and the Dane were sounding badass!

A Jazzmaster has just entered my want list. I'm most likely get a Squire model. I love the look of the black finished one. Nice end jam.
Aghast and agog at how fantastic you two sound together. Well done once again. Now I want one of those spectacular guitars.
These are some of the best tones I’ve heard from a jazz master. Love that American neck pickup
By far my favorite Andertons intro jam. and I'm so getting a jazzmaster
Am I the only one who looks at guitars with great finishes and have a desire to eat them? I mean, that pink one just looks so tasty!
I need a strawberry milkshake now
A trip to the NHS might do you some good...
Don't try it.
But would you buy a pink guitar? I would not.
I thought it looked like strawberry ice cream with dark chocolate. lmao
The right note at the right moment.

I recently bought a Jazzmaster I play constantly and haven't really had time to take it out and examine it. Main guitars, strats and Telly's
One of the best opening jams on this one! My fav. duo on the channel.

Best outro ever in Andertons!!!
Is it just me or has playing with Pete made The Captain an even better player. I think so. Great stuff!
The squier has the classic tone switches on it, so I'd probably spring for that one.
Vintera Mustang vs Classic Vibe Mustang would be my absolute dream video! Please? Love this video and concept. And that intro jam is to die for!
