Small 1940s Kienzle Box Clock - The Finished Article
Be sure to check out the first video of this clock as well: ruclips.net/video/z1AJ5QmRBFg/видео.html
Welp, the restoration of this Kienzle clock is finished, so here is it's propper presentation video. It still needs some minor stuff to be done to it, but nothing significant.
I also decided to get this thing because I felt that 85% of the clocks that I bought this year were rather unusual, so I thought getting something more common would be nice :)
After all, if it's not super high end or insanely rare, it doesn't mean that it doesn't have it's own charm. This clock has a mid/low quality movement, yet it's acoustics, accuracy (that has been great so far) and design make it something worth ha...

Unboxing My Most Recent Clock Aquisition
Просмотров 52028 дней назад
Welp, since my beloved Suevia is gone, I put my money to good use and I bought another clock! I wanted to get a bim-bam box clock that is not russian for a long time, and now I finally did it :) This clock still requires some attention, but overall it's in great shape. There sadly won't be any new additions for some time (probably until January), because I've got a lot of clocks in bits and I w...
Going Back To Winter Time: The Clocks Fall Back!

Well, I somehow managed to get this done. Video was recorded yesterday, but I was too lazy to edit it :P Repairs are progressing really well. The PTT is complete regarding the movement, so now I have to take care of the case, and that mysterious tall-shaped clock is now going again... I miss the Suevia so much T~T

"Tch....TRRRRRR!!" I personally love the sound of rack and snail striking. Especially one of a loud and "melodious" rack, like on my Korean clock, my Dugena and my Atlanta. Original video idea by @DannysClocks : ruclips.net/video/ZKqY-zdUwwo/видео.html

After almost a year, this clock got it's own video. One of my three american clocks. I really like the bottom painted glass, depicting the Westminster Abbey (I LOVE gothic churches). Runs very well, needs some cleaning.

1959 Junghans Mantel Clock with a 5 Rod Bim-Bam Strike
Просмотров 3833 месяца назад
Yup, another Junghans from the mid century. I love these things a little too much :) This is one of the very few clocks I don't actually need to service. As a coincidence, my Junghans with the leather covered case also didn't need any repairs! My goal is to get every Junghans movement and gong variation from the mid century, so until then I'll keep buying these lol

On my way to Austria I made a stop in Satu Mare, a town near the border, and so I managed to catch the 9PM strike on camera :) Idk why they swapped the bells though :/

A nice little clock I got a few days ago, along with a russian ATO-MAT alarm clock. It's rather uncommon, but still expensive when you find one. I was lucky enough to get it for a good price. I've done a decent amount of progress on some other clock projects, so expect more videos and a clock collection update soon.

Sad the Suevia sold. but this is a worthy replacement. Sounds absolutely gorgeous
You have an amezing clock collection
@@Nico2024-th2fs Thank you!!
Absolutely agreed! There are certain clocks where I just can't get enough of their ticking, particularly if it's on the slower side, like a wall clock or bracket clock. To this day, my favorite ticking would still have to be my brother-in-laws 1911 Junghans clock... There's just something so oddly satisfying about it! Plus it has the nicest Westminster chimes of any early Junghans clock I've ever heard... ruclips.net/video/6hvRDht4Ve8/видео.htmlsi=8hazUQdM1FMd_IJn

cleaning clocks is extremely pleasing tbh
@@theantiquescollector2199 yup, certainly is.
I love it! Great acquisition!!!
Great to see the clock all nicely cleaned and working well. You did a good job! I have a Kienzle striking wall clock which I bought about 15 years ago and I haven't done anything with it yet... so I'm not as quick to get on with the job as you are!
Thanks Tommy :) This clock was a rare case in which I actually managed to find time to fix this. It would normally take a few months until I get a clock working... I have some projects from last year that I still haven't finished!
Parabéns pela coleção. Relógio maravilhoso
Thats very beautiful and rare Kienzle wall clock Luka! I am fixing clocks just like you! Taking all parts and cleaning and puting all back and oiling and it working! On end of the year will be a unboxing video of my new clock when i buy it but i am not 100% sure but i hope i will buy it!
Fab work. Are you self taught?
May I ask what you mean with self taught? I don't really understand :/
That answers that.
@luka3377 you teach yourself clock repair, but you've answered it. Can you rebush?
@@gaiuscoleman8815 Oh, I see. I do know how to rebush, but I do not have the propper tools. I can also theoretically fix broken pivots, and mainsprings as well. Again, I can't do this due to lack of tools.
@@luka3377 I hope you set aside cash to spend on the all important tools, Luca
that looks nice! reminds me of my mid century junghans
Hello my friend. My grandma recently passed away and she left me the third clock you shown. I really like it but I don't know how to make it work. If you or anybody knows contact me! Thank you!
Try ej’s clocks in silsbee tx
Yes, strident, in-tune, great practically unblemished dial and hands. Have you ever come across/know about an escapement with GUT PALLETS? I have! Robert Loomes in CLOCKS magazine had one to overhaul and the gut can wear out and presumably must be replaced after even 2 years, to avoid catastrophe! Great demo and your enthusiasm is great.
@@gaiuscoleman8815 Thank you! I have never heard of such a system before! That clock is likely one of a kind. Very interesting!
!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????
Kienzle *yes*
The Kienzle wall clock is very nice... a worthy addition to your collection! About the FHS chiming movement, I don't think the minute hand is too heavy, but there may be some resistance when lifting the chime lifting piece. Check that it isn't sticking.
@@TommyWylie Yes, that is more likely to be so. I've noticed that when the clock finishes the 3rd quarter chime, the train is locked by the self correction mechanism and not the actual warning pin. There's quite a bit of pressure building up in there, and I think that adjusting this thing might help. The movement also needs a very good clean. The chimes already gave up and it's only had 4 days since I wound it...
Classic 1940s. I have a similar one from Junghans
@@LocutusDeer I think I know which you mean, and I love that thing :>
Ah yes, one of the most exciting (and terrifying) parts of getting a clock in the mail... Unboxing the thing while dreading finding it in pieces! I had very similar feelings while unboxing a very large wall clock I had shipped to me recently. Very glad to hear yours wasn't too badly damaged after shipping! Also, this thing sounds gorgeous! Seriously one of the nicest bim-bam strikes I have ever heard. Of course, this isn't all that unexpected, being a Kienzle. They sure new a thing or three about good acoustics! Anyways, congrats on the newest acquisition!
@@thesingingclockery523 Thank you very much! Yes, this is certainly the scariest part when it comes to getting clocks this way... I was afraid when I saw the movement fell along with the seatboard, but luckily the chime rods weren't damaged. I also love the sound of this and it's probably my favourite bim-bam strike I have :>
Thats a very nice clock Luka! When i was watching some your videos (idk which one, maybe lastest one?) I see the picture of this clock! I think i will on end of the year buy a Kienzle or Gustav Becker Vienna regulator wall clock!
@@Oldclockschannel125 Yup, this clock was indeed shown in my latest video :> I'm very curious to see what you'll get!
