@@dirtabletv my Cylinder, starting w the head Seal let go at 22hrs, not once over heated. Then coolant started pouring out of the exhaust. Feels like head is warped and hairline crack in cylinder losing fluid. Keep in mind I ride Long Island NY w no crazy terrain or mountains

@@dirtabletv nope, I called they said warranty is for only 6hrs or less on bike. This being my 5th KTM, has certainly took the wind out of my sails.

Not the Beta for a taller guy. Both friends of mine that owned Beta 300 RR RE models sold them in part because they felt small. These guys are both under 6’ and 165-180. I’m also a HUGE YZ fan boy but for the nasty stuff we ride, I have to have a button. I loved my 2020 YZ 250X but there’s no comparison to my KTM /Husky 300.

@@Dat_Sun I feel for ya as I too have had friends with issues. That said there are very few compared to those with zero issues. I’m at about 75 hours on my 24 XC with zero issues. I also have a 21 TX 300 TPI with almost 300 hours that is my all time favorite bike. So, what did you do?

@@dirtabletv I sunk eight hundred dollars into dealer diagnostics and updates, the bike still runs poorly. It only has a couple hours on it, I stored it about 13 months ago. Before giving up on it, I purchased a tps position voltage sensor thing, I didn't have to make any adjustments, .50v base, I think. 60 with fast idle in if I remember correctly. I verified they were spot on where they were supposed to be. I swapped over to the iridium plug, made no difference at all. I didn't really expect it to. Tried multiple pre mix fuel sources, no change. At a racing pace , the bike runs fantastic. But it does not go slow at all, within minutes, it's fouling plugs at lower speeds. Upon inspection, I find a chunk of carbon or something has formed and closed the gap between the electrode and strap. I've considered custom tune, but I'm wary of throwing any more money at this thing.

Thank you. Helping the regular rider is my goal, glad this helped you. That's how I view my XC... a trail bike that is as capable as the others but just has a little more spice. I ride with a big group and just about every other bike is present. The XC, in the right hands, can lug, climb, ride slow and do the super technical stuff just as good as the other bikes. Now when you get up to the real pro level, it may change but 98% of us will never reach that status. I didn't do a light but I do run the Tusk radiator fan and its been flawless and has a much smaller power draw than the others so my stator is stock too. Love this bike! Man, you got one hell of a first dirt bike!!! I’ll give you a few tips I think are priceless… 1. Always use hand tools and “barely snug” is about perfect fit the oil drain and check bolt. They will strip super easy! 2. Learn your manual, always refer to it and don’t doubt the KTM engineers over some dude on the interwebs. 3. Air filter every ride, oil every couple. I do oil every other. 4. Let most of the internet BS go in one ear and out the other. Just cuz one dude has a random issue doesn’t mean you will have it. 5. Bling is cool but there’s only 3 things that make you a better rider. Seat time, fuel and tires. 6. Ride weekly! Enjoy, man! Let me know if I can help ya! I copied the torque specs and I keep it in the notes of my phone. Use a torque wrench but again, the oil bolts are super soft.

To me this is real fuel injection that so many have been waiting for so,so,long!

​@Jeff-pc1zu I will agree that at least you can now mix the proper fuel/oil mixture. But I thought the whole point of the FI systems were to make the bikes more emissions friendly AND be reliable. I've seen way too many of them with fuel pump issues and sensor failures.

@Jlow67WV The #1 issue that I had with the 1st TPI- Transfer Port Injection was to me that's simply not fuel injection + Can-Am as well as Evinrude boat engines had that tech long ago. It wasn't anything really new until the TBI-Throttle Body Injection 1st came out in 2020 or 2021 on the XC models. I'm a big fan of KTM as well as their other 2 brands Husqvarna & GasGas but the oil+fuel injected separately to me is not really true fuel injection however you are correct that KTM had to bring the TPI out for emissions first & foremost thanks to the nasty Euro Emissions Standards! Why don't they pick on the airliners polluting the air instead of a small dirt bike that cannot possibly pollute nearly as much?

6’ and 290 butt naked. I feel at home on the KTM but a bit cramped on the Beta. Still a great bike but it really shines in the slower technical stuff. Outside of that, the Beta feels small. Both guys that had Betas I did reviews on have sold them for the Husky TE 300 Pro models. In fairness they were both seasoned KTM/Husky guys prior to Beta and just felt out of place. These are both smaller guys too. Well, normal size A riders. That’s just the way these two guys went. I have many friends that absolutely love the Beta. No right or wrong, just personal preference.

Bob, I spent 30 years helping build and maintain many of the best trails on NorCal and you’re right, there are forested areas with great single track and bunches of it. That said, the south east is much tighter. Cutting down your bars just to get thru is common out here and it’s not just small sections, it’s everywhere. It doesn’t mean that I’m saying one is better than the other but riding east vs west is 180* different. I’d say this to push it a little further… I think east coast riders would adapt much faster out west than a west coaster adapting out here (East). Then there’s the soil… lots of traction out west and super slick in the east. Just my opinion and I’d be happy to ride with ya on either coast.

Its great but a darn good workout. Maybe too good. It might be better if it was the first 16 miles of a 50 mile day rather than this where we did it at the end of an already brutal day. Oh well, memories, right?

My youngest son recently got into cold plunging for post workout recovery. Then my wife got into it and now guess who uses it after rides like this??? Yep. I’m chunky dunkin in ice after a ride and I love the feeling (when you get out)!

Gearing and a TSP head and ECU reflash. Works amazing! I haven't done it to my 24 but I have 260 hours on my 2021 Husky TX 300 with this done and its my favorite bike ever!

I’m on a 23 300XC and live in Tennessee also. Have you rode the single track at Cub Mountain yet? It is awesome! I am on stock gearing and I’m going to put a 13 front on and try it. Cub mountain is super tight and technical but flowy

No. XCW is 9hp less and geared almost identically. 14/48 on the XC and 13/45 on the XCW.

@@DC300xcw low end. Open faster trails like stock to taller gearing, tight trails like stock and lower where you can get more bottom end in gears 2, 3 and 4. I was in Ca most of my life. Stock gearing is pretty good out there. Now I’m in Tennessee and trails are way nastier, tighter and slick. Being able to have more bottom of any gear gives me the ability to have better grunt when I’m riding a gear up. That make sense?

@@dirtabletv totally. If I put a lower gear sprocket on my xcw my front wheel would never be on the ground in first lol have fun dude. I’ve watched the hard enduro race down there in Tennessee. Looks like formidable terrain

I had it at 13/48 since week one. I like it as it’s a great do-all setup but we ride so much tight stuff having a little more grunt in the lower end of 3rd will help me be better able to ride it a gear up in the flowy stuff. That’s my hope anyway. I have a 21 with 13/51 but this bike has a different gear box. Time will tell.
