LOVLEY TO SEE THESE OLD RILEYS AS OUTSTANDING CARS. WHAT I CANNOT FIND ANYWHERE PREHAPS NONE SURVIVED WAS THE RILEY MONACO ABOUT 1936. AN OUTSTANDING CAR. THIS HAD A DYNOSTART STICKING OUT FROM THE FRONT OF BELOW THE RADIATOR. CHROME PLARED AND IT MADE A WHIRING SOUND.. IT HAD A PRE SELECTOR GEARBOX THEY CHANGED WHEN ONE SELECTED A GEAR AND ONLY THEN WHEN ONE PRESSED THE CLUTCH. I THING IT HAD A FLUID FLYWHEEL.. PREHAPS THIS FACT CAUSED NONE TO SURVIVE AS REPAIRS VERY DIFFICULT. THIS WAS A FOUR SEATER FOUR DOOR SALOON. IT HAD A BOOT AT REAR AS A NORMAL REAR CONFIGURATION. CAN YOU HELP OVER THIS PROBLEM. DID THEY NOT MAKE MANY OR DID ONLY A FEW SURVIVE WWII. I RESIDE IN ENGLAND AND WE HAD ONE AFTER WWII FOR MANY YEARS. ONLY CHANGED IT BECAUSE WE NEEDED A LARGER CAR FOR THE FAMILY. REPLACEMENT. A HUDSON 1939 CHEVROLET ENGINE A FIVE SEATER.

Good work on the video mate, there wasn't much to look at after the event last year yet somehow I missed yours. I was entered in Regularity 2 which you didn't show but I forgive you..... I only got to race on Sunday in the miserable cold wet conditions after spending all day Saturday trying to diagnose what turned out to be a faulty condensor. Gave it heaps on Sunday though to make up for it :)

There are really just a handful of Caymans and Boxsters that will ever be deemed as true classics. The sad reality is that these models will always get overshadowed by the 911. The Porsche Boxster 25 years and the latest GT4 are two of them. Maybe the Golf MK5 GTI Edition 30 will be worth something as a collectors car. Other than that the MK5 platform will never be worth anything as far too many were produced. It's just a cheap frame with a decent engine that's well suited to custom tuning.

Ah, what a splendid trip down memory lane this video is! It warms my heart to see the Riley Motor Club of Victoria celebrating its 65th year with such grandeur. I've been a devoted Riley enthusiast since my childhood in Germany, and watching this Gala Day at Bellevue Orchid brought back cherished memories of my own Riley adventures. I vividly recall a summer day in '55 when my family embarked on a cross-country journey in our trusty Riley Pathfinder. The wind in my hair, the purr of the engine... those were the days. The camaraderie among fellow Riley lovers transcends borders, and events like these evoke a deep sense of nostalgia. Here's to the timeless joy of Riley motoring! Cheers from Germany!

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing such awesome footage. The start of my run you captured (blue & orange Torana) is hilariously short on traction. My 3rd-place run certainly was off to a better start than that. I love seeing the hopped-up pre-War stuff coming off the line and flexing the whole car around. Must be bloody exciting running even around the 1min mark in one of those open cars.

Had my 2008 2.7 for a year now, and loving every mile in it. Its currently sitting at just over 15k miles, 12.8k when purchased. Ive got no immediate plans to sell it.

Great video, thanks. Two small critiques: the 80s synth soundtrack is a distraction. If you can't get the engines revving, just go with Verdi or Puccini! Also, some of the extreme close ups are a bit exaggerated and jarring. Slow down and keep your distance - we're trying to admire a beautiful woman but you keep giving us a close up of her nipple.

Why the F are you sitting on your 911 man?

You must be careful with that high pressure rinse hose to not spray into the vent holes at the top of the rear screen or you will completely soak the head liner and 2 you should have taken 5 min to dry the car with a chamois cloth. If you're going to do it,.... yada ,yada, yada. Very nice car. you're going to get a lot of enjoyment from it.

Narrow body is a great look! I drive a '68 911 with a 3.2 under the deck lid. Doing everything planned, you won't every let yours go either 😀

How was this the first Datsun sports car exported to the world when the Fairlady 1500, 1600 and 2000 had already been sold globally. Also the 240z was specifically designed for the USA market and had been originally pitched as a design idea by Yamaha to build a sports car with Datsun.

How can you be a club member and question the steering ? A Datsun Z is a true golden era classic sports car. Hell no it's steering was always on point. Your car needs urethane steering rack mounts, and a new steering column rubber bushing and bolt kit if it's missing the bits that make up the factory setup. A Z has a very direct and capable steering, ALWAYS. Your wider tire choice ,just exasperated the 50yr old wear in the parts I've mentioned ,you need to replace. I have a 73 240Z and a 78 280Z steering is rock solid and on point.

But man, they sure knew how to build 'em back in the day. I mean, have you ever seen such a sweet collection of classic cars in one place? It's like a feast for the eyes, and my inner car geek is freaking out. And get this - it's been going on for 65 YEARS! That's older than my grandpa's sock drawer. Thanks for sharing this epic slice of history with us - it's seriously the coolest thing I've seen all year.
