Historic Winton is Australia's Premier All Historic Racing Event

Historic Winton is Australia's largest and most popular all-historic motor race meeting. There is non-stop racing featuring over 400 historic racing cars and motorbikes from the 1920s to the 1980s as well as a huge array of veteran, vintage, rare and unusual vehicles on display. This year the event celebrated it's 45 running along with 100 years of the Austin Seven. One of highlights is the Group N (Group NC, Group NB). Nb Production Touring Cars (Pre-1965)
includes Morris Mini Cooper S and Saloon cars such as the Holden Torana GTR XU1 and Ford Cortina.
Group S (sports cars) and Q Racing & Sports Racing Cars (1970-1977) and
R Sports and Racing Cars 1978 - 1987 also provided a lot of track entertainment. In addition to all the racing the variety of the cars in the classic car park is world class. Many people going to a lot of effort to drive from Melbourne or beyond. MG, Riley, Austin Healey, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes Benz, Datsun, Triumph, Sunbeam and more are all represented. Fabulous. I race with the 750mc in the UK which it was started in the '40's with Austin 7 based racing. Lots of similar cars, especially the 750 formula cars, still racing in 750mc championships.

Another great footage. Loved the mini cars race. There were some near miss during the race and you could loudly hear the cars when they try to break or reduce speed.

A very good effort but what about our bike racing mates? They put in the same amount of effort as we do, ( I'm a group LB driver ) the racing is exciting and there are some interesting guys to interview - some older riders have raced in Europe. They make the meeting unique. Don't overlook them next time around.
