Thrift Flip- Strawberry T-shirt Dress
Today's thrift flip is perfect for this season- easy to make and easy, breezy to wear! :) First, we'll find an oversized t-shirt at the thrift store. (Mine had a cute strawberry design!🍓) Then, we'll sew some coordinating knit fabric to the t-shirt to turn it into a dress! This thrift flip is a great way to stretch your creative muscles and give second hand T's a new life. It's also totally customizable to your style. Make a midi or a mini dress. Make it cute, make it edgy. Whatever you do, don't forget to buy some fresh strawberries to go with any strawberry-themed dresses you happen to make... yum!😉🍓 Come along on the thrift-fliping, strawberry shopping adventure and see if you get insp...

Hi, Crafters! It is FINALLY time for another Upcycled Clothes from Free Stuff project! :) These are some of the most popular videos here on the channel, but they do come with an extra crafting challenge. Not only do I have to get clothes for free, but I also have to find ways to upcycle or refashion them into pieces that fit me and my life! Today's project features a pair of tropical-print line...
Sewing the Perfect Summer Skirt (and twinning with my sister!)
Просмотров 452Месяц назад
It's not summer until I've got a LONG list of new projects to try! (And lots of fabric that needs to be used too! lol) Today's sewing project is one that I've been envisioning for a while, but have only recently found the right pattern. Yes, I’ve been searching and searching for… the perfect skirt pattern! My skirt requirements include an A-line skirt gathered to a waistband, NO zippers, usable...
Sewing a 1920s Robe (Loungewear for Flappers!)
Просмотров 1992 месяца назад
Calling all Flappers! Today, we're making some comfy loungewear based on a pattern from the 1920s! Although the pattern is vintage, this kimono-style robe is perfect for modern wear AND historical looks. (It's also great for gifts, since who doesn't need a cute, retro robe?!) We'll start by self-drafting and cutting out the simple shapes of the boxy design. I upped the comfy factor with some fu...
Upcycled Clothes (from Target?!)

I love a good upcycle project, and I'm always on the hunt for inexpensive items that I change "up" into something more special. Turns out, I found my next project while running an errand at... Target! :) On my way to the necessary items like toilet paper and groceries, I stopped by the women's clothing section. When I found a white cotton shirt dress on the racks, I knew a little crafty magic c...
Thrift Flip: modern to "vintage" 1940s
Просмотров 2923 месяца назад
Today's thrift flip may be one of my favorites! :) As soon as I spotted this floral prairie dress at the thrift store, I knew I had to get it! Choosing how to upycled that dress into something wearable took some deliberation, though. After lots of sewing (and time), our dress was transformed from modern fast fashion to 1940s -inspired!! :) Of course, I had to pair my "vintage" dress with retro ...

I love thrift shopping, but second-hand clothes don't always fit me or my life! That's where the "thrift flip" and "thrift fix" comes in! Can the garment be fixed through easy alterations or do I need to flip (or upcycle) it into something different? In today's project, I'll first take you thrift shopping and show you some of my recent finds. Next, I'll take my purchases home and show you why t...

Happy spring, Crafters! :) Seems like it took forever to get here, but spring has sprung and so has the crafty inspiration! It's time to bring out the floral prints, lightweight fabrics and bright colors to do some spring sewing! Time for a new thrift flip project, and this time we're upcycling men's button-up shirts! I've been searching for the perfect shirts to flip for a while. Sewing a Knit Skirt Set (cute n' comfy DIY!)

Time to sew a cute n' comfy outfit! :) Although I'm a little late to the knit skirt set trend, I have been saving fabric and hunting down patterns for this project for a while! (How cute is this fabric that I found?! Gray knit with polka dots? Yes please!) I also love how this pattern for the boxy sweatshirt pairs with the slim maxi skirt pattern! I was so excited to finally tackle this project...
DIY Hat from Old Sweaters! (cozy upcycle project)

Recycle your old wool sweaters into something new! :) Even if they have holes and were shrunk in the wash, those wool knits may be the perfect candidates for an upcycle project! :) In today's video, I FINALLY use some felted sweater remnants from my craft stash to make a HAT! Of course, I'll show you the pattern I used and my sewing steps. Then, I'll take my funky but cozy hat out on a winter w...

To avoid that funky underarm seam I would sew it like I do a crochet robe. 1. Sew the shoulder seams. 2. Open it up flat one layer & attach the sleeves flat. 3. Then sew the side seams & underarm sleeve seams in one line of stitching.

I have the Mary Brooks Pickens Women's Institute " Drafting and Pattern Design book" and 1920s fashion is easy to make and wear. I love Mrs. Depew and I have bought several of her patterns and books. If you get on her mailing list, she often has special sales.

Try c9let water on colors and old fashion lye bar soap from the Amish stores. It works well on baby formula and blood and oil based stains. Hot water cook in enameled pan for whites.

You need to put some big turquoise with that denim dress and boots so cool or you could do Doc Martin's that might be too edgy for you. The polyester dress is definitely 70s it looks like my baby blanket. They would have used leftover fabric back them not much buying specific fabrics for blankets back then n9t like the master pieces we have today. ❤so cute. Im glad for what you got vintage makes me so happy.

The BEST stuff is in the thrift shops. Pure cotton....lots of mens shirts that can be repurposed... I will not buy anything made in China; it's not the high quality like the Japanese or german ceramics. ..Or, made in the USA. The dress you made is nice but 37 minutes for this is a bit too long.
