    I'm not sure how your system is plumbed, but several people I know changed from dead heading the throttle body off of the regular to using the regulator in bypass mode so there is a continuous flow of fuel throught and past the throttle body. Several people have been saying it gets vapor locked.

    • @CatfishMotorsports

      Mine is routed LS style with a remote regulator. I have an in tank pump, with a combination filter/pressure regulator back near the tank that circulates fuel constantly back to the tank. Less line ran and I’ve had no issues with it. I have heard of people doing what you are saying, but I think that might apply to the more traditional sniper models more than it does the stealth models like mine.

      I think that car takes 5w-30 but don’t quote me on that. As for brand whatever full synthetic was on sale. Modern cars usually state 5000 mile or longer oil changes. I would not use a conventional oil. Synthetic has much better resistance to building sludge over long change intervals.

      Mess with the striker a little first. If that’s not improving it then loosen the door and get out the Jack. Oh, and do it on the ground if you can. Having the car on jackstands can put strain on the body and cause your adjustment to be in error. Learned that the hard way.

    If you get a P0121 code for the TPS. Also check the vac lines! I kept getting that code even know the TPS sensor was good and I check all the wiring. The MAP sensor had a small tear in the rubber boot going to it causing that code which would also cause the transmission to not shift right.

    • @CatfishMotorsports
      @CatfishMotorsports 10 дней назад

      That’s pretty wild that a tear in the MAP would mess with the trans. Strange stuff happens. I just had my thermostat blow up into a worn housing.

      @@CatfishMotorsports Has a after market ZZP PCM. So the tune on it may be why I got that code and not for the MAP. The MAP didn't agree with the TPS cause the vacuum was off. But the transmission relies on the TPS position for shifting.

      My friend, if you wanna come use that same tool with steel line with it just in your hands. I’ll hand you a crisp $100 bill. With the steel bar bending struggling to get it down good luck. No offense my guy but you are fumbling how to do this with the tool, you are supposed to twist the flaring part all the way to the right, if it hits the edges it centers itself

    • @CatfishMotorsports
      @CatfishMotorsports 12 дней назад

      I said that. I said even though it went down crooked the adapter still flattened and centered itself in the end. It still made a worse flare than the other tool. It’s still a worse tool than the one I liked. And it’s a pain in the ass to do with the steel if you wanted to do steel. I stand by what I said. You can get the job done with the OEM tool. But the other one is better.

    • @bradleywise835
      @bradleywise835 12 дней назад

      @@CatfishMotorsports I guess what I'm saying is,instead of trying to center the tool in the start with spacing,twist it clockwise so it mechanically centers itself,then lightly tighten and let the cone center itself then start tightening down, I will see If I have some steel brake line sitting around still, If I do I will post a video and send you a link thi upcoming week, I have tons of ni cop but I don't know if I have any steel anymore, I do like the channel so far,keep it up

    • @CatfishMotorsports
      @CatfishMotorsports 12 дней назад

      That won’t work entirely with this one. If you watch the whole video, there is a place where you can see the anvil? Idk what to call it, the pointed piece wobbles on its axis as it spins down. There is no way for it to center itself because the whole tool isn’t straight. I’m sure it’s not supposed to be like that, and if you have an old made in USA one it’s probably better. But like I said in the video, the cheap version of that type of tool suffers from quality issues.

      If they are available they can work in a lot of situations. Those actually just became available for Pontiac V8s in like the last 6 months or so from Howard’s Cams. The sniper 2 was not a thing yet. I’ve had this on my car for almost 3 years now. I talked to EFI Systems Pro before I bought and they basically said, “if you don’t mind spending a touch more, the Terminator is better. Full stop.” So it seems the only reason not to go Terminator is the price. At the time I was concerned about RFI issues. The Sniper 2 is supposedly better than the 1. But the Terminator eliminates it all together because the ECU is remote.

    The Vacuum line that runs off the T under the SC snout back to the MAP was a major headache for me for a time. Damn thing blew off the MAP(I assume under boost) and I didn't see it since it's hidden back by the firewall. The factory rubber boot was just to loose to hang on the nipple on the MAP anymore. Ended up doing what you did here. Replaced it all with high temp silicon tubing and some Brass T's. Even put a little hose clamp on the MAP connection for extra piece of mind.

    Did you check if the batteries had plenty of distilled water? Even maintenance-free batteries need water to charge.

    • @CatfishMotorsports
      @CatfishMotorsports 2 месяца назад

      One of them. I don’t remember which. Actually resulted in one of the worst scares I’ve had working on car stuff. I tried to do a battery revival with extra distilled water like a year ago. When I put the cap back on, it popped and splashed some battery acid directly into my eye. (Wear safety glasses kids). And then it didn’t actually help. Sorta soured me on the whole process lol.

    Why the manual says don't leave the noco 5 charger while charging a battery? Exploding ?

    • @CatfishMotorsports
      @CatfishMotorsports 2 месяца назад

      Probably just liability boilerplate. It’s meant to switch to a maintenance mode after it’s done charging which is meant to be connected long term

    You can wrap the old plastic with carbon fiber veil cloth with resin to prevent future cracks or to build up a little material on brittle plastic. Alternative to PC7 or epoxy filler from JB weld, Press N Seal wrap larger cracks will allow liquid resin to flow into a crack without spillage with dental syringes. Then sand & paint as normal. More labor intensive in wrapping the wheel, but will greatly reduce the chances of cracks reappearing. This is the method a Canadian wheel restorer uses as well as balsam wood for filling. His prices are about the same a wheel recasting. This is the method I am going to use to repair mine. Another method is similar in patching with fillers and paints is to cut an aftermarket wheel up for the ring and weld to the old standoffs to eliminate 90% of the filling repairs.

      I would for sure like to try that. Mine has helped up decently a year later but did develop a couple small cracks over the winter where it expanded and contracted with temperature cycling. Which is why I stressed that others should take more time v-notching their cracks than I did. It still looks very good considering the minimal effort I put it in it.

    You may wanna open the garage door while your engine is on.

      The fumes give me special powers…… The light behind from the open doors in bright daylight messes with the camera. I opened the door when I let it run for a while off camera. I also may have had one of the out of shot doors open even when it was only running for 20-30 seconds.

    Does it make a difference if the car came with 14 inch tires and you put 15 inch tires on it the rear end I put in my car is out of a 69 firebird 400 and I have a 78 Pontiac Phoenix kind of like a Nova

      No. 360 degrees of rotation is still 360 degrees of rotation. It could have a small effect on your rpm while driving because of tire size differences but not for this test.

    The benefits of a low power charger is you can use a UPS to power the charger while you are out and about, 15w 1Amp is nothing for UPS's, but it may just be the difference between stranded somewhere or not. I always bring a Craftsman 20v Battery 150w AC Inverter with me to power additional 12v fog lights (with an AC-DC 12v power supply of course), so i may just keep the charger in the truck for just in case moments.

      @@CatfishMotorsports Just an update regarding this, yeah i'm glad i got that charger. I can just use the craftsman V20 battery/150W inverter and place it in the engine bay along with the charger when i get home to maintain the battery and it works great (instead of using a long extension cord). The reason why i do this is because i have a sound system with a 500w Amp and two 12's that tend to drain the battery (headlight dimming during bass hits) etc, so this helps me make sure my battery is never an issue.
