    I thought the genius 1 had a repair mode. It says, Restore your battery - An advanced battery repair mode uses slow pulse reconditioner technology to detect battery sulfation and acid stratification to restore lost battery performance for stronger engine starts and extended battery life.

      It might have something passive, but only the 5 and 10 have the selectable repair modes. I did a test on the repair mode in the 5 in another video, it does something but its not a miracle worker.

    The benefits of a low power charger is you can use a UPS to power the charger while you are out and about, 15w 1Amp is nothing for UPS's, but it may just be the difference between stranded somewhere or not. I always bring a Craftsman 20v Battery 150w AC Inverter with me to power additional 12v fog lights (with an AC-DC 12v power supply of course), so i may just keep the charger in the truck for just in case moments.

      @@CatfishMotorsports Just an update regarding this, yeah i'm glad i got that charger. I can just use the craftsman V20 battery/150W inverter and place it in the engine bay along with the charger when i get home to maintain the battery and it works great (instead of using a long extension cord). The reason why i do this is because i have a sound system with a 500w Amp and two 12's that tend to drain the battery (headlight dimming during bass hits) etc, so this helps me make sure my battery is never an issue.

      I kinda want to kill a battery on purpose just to try to Force mode, but batteries are too expensive for me to tempt fate that much.

    You should look into the noco 2d $40 and direct mount to the car to plug in every time you park. I have a 2016 battery that’s been running strong in my 73 Lincoln mark IV because of the noco.

    • @CatfishMotorsports
      @CatfishMotorsports  4 месяца назад

      I’ll do that. I legit just killed the battery in my wagon (my fault. I left the key on) but that might have saved it.
      I’m going to buy a NOCO 5 too. I want to test that repair feature.

      I can’t compare, but I have one of those little NOCO jumpstarters too that I’ve been very happy with. I always take it with me when I go on a long trip in one of my old cars.

    Have you tried the reconditioning function of the charger?
    I got an old car with “dead” battery. I connected the battery to a C-Tek charger to recondition. The battery functions as new now.

    • @CatfishMotorsports
      @CatfishMotorsports  6 месяцев назад

      This one doesn’t have that function, only the larger NOCO chargers do. I haven’t got around to buying one but that’s good to know!
