“One of the most fascinating lessons I’ve absorbed about life is that the struggle is good.” - Joe Rogan
Out on a short walk and hoping for some good news!
Taking a walk for as long as you can is good. even if you feel like crap. the sun has a natural ability to give you a pickup. So if you can, just walk a little.

Knee Surgery & F/U Updates | Episode #43
Me and my husband were just told today he was moving on to Liver transplant evaluation Houston Methodist , Houston, Texas. They are outstanding!
My timeline is possibly 2 years, 8 months ago. Take me now... this disease is brutal. I will be stopping all medical intervention. I can no longer endure perinstis every 2 weeks, 7 medications a day. They are gross and not worth the effort. It takes me hours to get the nerve to take the next one. I am happy you have support, my family are a dumpster fire.
Decompit cirrhosis, end of life, meld score 24. Liver transplant or death. Who can afford the travel, medications, and stress not me. I can barely make it to my Dr 15 miles away. Transplant center Is 4 + hours away weigh I am 88 lbs and jaundiced, and bruised from head to toe. I want to just go home with the lord and my parents. Simple request.
I’m ironically killing four hours until my next full blood panel while listening to this video. Getting a fresh snapshot ultrasound next week and first transplant interview next month. Two and a half years sober, last beer was the night before I was hospitalized. I have the complication of sarcoidosis which turned out to be the culprit behind chronic autoimmune hepatitis but drinking didn’t help obviously. Low fat low sugar high carb diet and tons of fruit has made a big difference. I love that you’re doing these regular videos to take a lot of the fear out of the experience for the newcomers to this journey. There’s some rough realities to face but a lot of positives that can come out of the process. Even if a transplant doesn’t go down I’ve learned to adjust my lifestyle and my activity to my stamina, energy levels and so on. Your closing note about being a positive in someone’s day is possibly the most important advice you gave. Mental and emotional well being is critical, even if it’s a couple of my favourite candy bars in a mug next to my bed for those 3 a.m. ‘what is the point of all of this’ experiences. I’ve explained to a few others that major lifestyle changes (diet, medication, addiction recovery) aren’t buying you a future or ‘extra years’. They’re paying owed rent and allowing you to stay a while longer so long as you stay in good graces with your landlord (your body) who has heard every excuse under the sun. Thanks again for your channel and all your work.
Love how you tie youre body giving up to working😅. Had nothing to do with it . I can work myself exhausted. My kidneys never failed. U had renal failure cuz you drank youre way to it. There was ZERO other contributing factors.
I like your insight.
Holy shit. I saw your old video ages back. You look so fucking healthy in comparison. Thats insane.
Nick. Sending big hugs and love 💕💚🌟
May i ask how old are you??

I'm really scared. Weakness but can't sleep, really itchy, can barely hold a conversation I'm always nervous and confused. So much pain and nausea my mental health is shot. I'm holding onto hope.
I have liver disease and the pain is terrifying. I'm glad you're still with us. I have 0 tolerance for pain especially prolonged. I'm back in AA and going through withdrawal from a relapse. You're right it's enough to make you nuts. I feel like I'm being stabbed and quite inflamed. I cry so much. I can't sleep on my side. I appreciate your content so much and glad you're still alive.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of your videos, but it’s good to see you looking healthy. And I really like what I heard from you and it makes sense.
Youre helping many people Nick!Gottee is coming in great !
Sorry this comes in so late but hope everything went well with the decision!
You look healthy man at least.
Rip
Great to see you in the great outdoors ❤️
Hang in there! Be prepared because "the call" comes when you least expect it. Trust me!
You’re in my prayers always Nick 🙏🏼♥️🇨🇦 1:20
Thanks and good luck within the next couple of weeks.❤
Looking good buddy.
Thank you my friend! I hope you're doing well!
Living in the South of the UK and its about 22c here and I find it not to bad walking on flat ground, its hills I struggle with but I can travel on bus journeys to the coast where my grandparents took me about 30 years ago about 12 miles away, that costs me £2 which I think is about $ 2:50. Its a nice way to see scenery and grab an iced cream.
Resume through the nose and excel out through the mouth as you're doing your walk. If you get dizzy or lightheaded, bend your torso downwards with a hand on the knees so that your head is about even with your heart. The dizziness should go away that can come from dehydration or you could come from other things more serious like high blood pressure or whatnot. Usually it's dehydration when I've felt these things before. It helps quickly when you do just stop and bend over your body with your hands on those knees. If you're at home just put your hand on a counter and do the same thing. I'm not trying to ask like a know-it-all but I'm just giving suggestions that have helped me and have helped my dad when we feel light-headed. The hardest part is breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth because we're never told this for the most part in Western culture. I was never told that when I was a little kid
your skin complication and overall health looks good.
Agree
good luck nick! love bro.

Hello Nick. Thanks for uploading all of your videos on this subject, they are helping me a lot. You are one tough guy that's for sure and you're looking very healthy. The real battle is just starting here but at least I know I'm not the only one going through this nightmare and yes it can play with your mind and cause deep depression but I have a nack to deal with that of which works. Thanks again Nick and best wishes on your future endevours.
It's my pleasure Michael! I'm glad my videos are helping you along your journey.
Prayers your way❤
It's like nothing any more for me. I cured my severe chirrhosis with daily 3 capsules of Milk Thisle and 1 Serrapeptace. Detaining from booze for 9 months. Now I can drink moderately now and then and I feel no effect of the disease. Blood work is good and liver epitel had smoothen, due to Serrapeptace breaking up scar and dead tissue. Strongly recommend these suppliments.
You must stop drinking streaght away you are killing yourself dont think its gone away it has not its still their only you can save yourself no one else No doctors can help you its down to you live or die
Positive vibes your way.❤😊
Prayers 🙏🤍🕊️
Hope everything goes your way today Nick 💫
Physically, the itching and joint pain is the worst. Mentally, the anxiety stops me doing things I was not previously worried about.
Mee too COL since feb 23
Hi Nick 🎉. It’s good to see you looking really good. I’m glad you’re here. I hope you continue to be well. Get better and stay safe. Please take care of yourself my friend, hugs to you. Mona 💚
You're lucky to be pre transplant and be somewhat heathy. After I was diagnosed with cirrhosis I quit drinking, went to a specialist and started having blood tests done until the numbers (of my blood test) got so bad and I had to be admitted to the hospital twice for blood transfusions. My body was eating my red blood cells. I'm now 3 years post transplant and walk a lot. LOL
Joy killing fatigue, joint pain, skin issues! I am shivering cold even on warm days. Sleep deprivation makes me a zombie. I’ve always been pretty tough but this is about to be more than I can do. My people don’t understand and I don’t have good doctors. Feeling pretty hopeless. I appreciate you Nick, wish you better days ahead.
You will get there my friend. Just keep trucking forward!
I met someone i told him i was dieing after 5 weeks i met him again he said this to me are you ok now you were not well last time i seen you are you better now I felt like punching him in the mouth how stupid can you be Yes i have all the same things as you but here in the uk its still all free In usa i dont know how you pay for all the medecation its 150.000 usd per year or more Dont worry you are not alone we are all in the same boat my thoughts are with you take 1 day at a time happy to talke to you anytime Andy kilo uk ❤
Do you think this could be due to the stress of living with this disease? Is your mind clear when you go to bed? Or, do you have a lot of mental stressors (like paying bills, costs of the medicine, worrying about the next surgical intervention, etc.)? Those things I sure did (and could barely sleep at all) when I was taking care of my elder, 90+ yoa Mom as she fought cancer.
I'm sure that has something to do with it, but I know that it also has to do with your liver enzymes being all messed up.
Prayers for all of us with any diseases .
Right there with every single symptom. Don’t leave out splenic artery aneurysms. I use Xifaxin for HE. It works fantastic and they allow me to only use lactulose when my mind goes wacko because I can tell it. My platelets run around 100 and I sometimes get spontaneous bleeding from my mouth. My blood is extremely thin which is normal and add that on to a huge spleen and put an aneurysm in the mix and it could be disastrous if in an accident. Muscle wasting is horrible after 15 years of this, but hey I am still here. Just keep churning along. I have horrible neuropathy which is another side effect. Add that onto the itching and I almost go mad. I take a Benadryl if terribly itchy and sometimes need atarax when it gets out of control. My side gets what is like a catch in it that literally makes me scream as it takes my breath. This stuff is no fun and I am too exhausted to think about sex honestly.
My side does that when I lean forward sometimes. I thought it was from where they took my gallbladder out but I guess it's my liver😢
My platelets are at 117
@@valerielock2374 nope. It is from where the liver gets stiff and scared down. They told me at Mayo unless the platelets got below 50, they do nothing. Bruises are terrible.
I"ve always enjoyed hearing your experiences for the last few months of watching your videos. It would be cool to see you do a fun episode, like at a park or something to remind people how you still enjoy life to the fullest despite your diagnosis.
You got it! 😊
@fortressfarms82 the hot peanuts challenge with your friends was great to watch. Forgot you had liver disease and my own.
Hang in there Dude!
