My father passed away of Cirrhosis of the liver…from alcohol, he hugged the bottle after we lost my dear brother, his son - 10yrs later we lost Dad. I nursed him at home palliatively. I had to take my father for ascites taps, because he wanted to be at home there were many emergency ambulance calls and many tears. Eventually I had to watch Dad turn jaundice and he passed away with family and loved ones close by at home as he wished.
This was the hardest thing I ever had to do, my mum was with me, my parents had divorced 20yrs earlier yet they were still close.
Anyone that is reading this battling this horrendous “legal” addiction…please get help, people love and care about you, fight your demons.
Alcoholism is one of the most overlooked addictions in society, don’t overlook it within yourself.
And Nick you’re doing good for the world..keep sharing and be well.
Very well said my friend! Best wishes to you, your health and family.
Stay as healthy as you can brother; you’re needed in this world at this time. Keep giving, learning, loving, and growing. Special souls get the tougher gigs. 🙏🏽
You look 4 months younger with the clean shave 😂. Love the t shirt 👍
Ha! At this point in my life, I'll take 4 months added to my expiration date! 😁
I just recently found you. Thank you!
It's my pleasure and thank you for watching! If there is a specific topic you'd like me to discuss feel free to let me know. I'm not a Dr. just a patient but I may know of resources that I'be found helpful. 😊
Ha ha Nick, I do cuz I broke my leg 8 yrs ago!! I’m so glad that your surgery was successful! I know exactly what you’re going through, it’s tough for sure! You look great & despite everything you’ve come out the other side like a champ!! Sending you prayers for Health, Wealth & Happiness! Oh p.s. I’m so glad you didn’t get the cane with 4 legs cuz that one is for stroke patients 🤣 they gave me that one by mistake at the hospital! It took me 9 months to walk on my own & I hope it doesn’t take you as long as me!
The car accident you had is just another challenge for you but you stay the course Nick & everything will be OK 👌🏻 I also had to wait 5 days for my Surgery too!! My leg break was considered “non” life threatening & I can tell you that I was a wreck waiting!! Yeah you’re lucky cuz I tore my ACL & MCL along with the break! One day at a time buddy 😂 Susan from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦🫶🏻♥️🙏🏼🫠 8:54
Thanks as always Susan! I got my cane & had adjusted it to fit. Not ready to run any marathons yet.
@@fortressfarms82 You’ll get there one day soon & look back on this time to realize you made it through life a champ! It takes time but it will get better day by day 🫶🏻♥️🙏🏼🇨🇦🦋🤞🏼🫠
Hey Nick 😊 you look so good. Something different you look younger! Sorry you have to use a cane but from my perspective it’s not a bad thing at all. At least you can walk. I don’t know if you can take turmeric supplements due to liver issues but it helps with inflammation and pain. I take it daily I have fibromyalgia, it helps. Your scar on your forehead is almost gone 😊. So good to see you today Nick. Blessings to you 💚💚💚💚💚💚
Hey Monay! I cut the 8in goatee so that may jave taken some time off. It was beginning annoying to maintain. LOL
Your so positive!!
What happened to the beard though?!..that was cool:)
How's it going NM? I hope you're doing better. Honestly, I got lazy and keeping up with the beard when I shave the rest of my head was getting on my nerves. 😋
Grazie mille Niccolò. Motion is Lotion. A few of my favorite authors words came to mind as you shared... "“The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break, it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too, but there will be no special hurry.”
― Ernest Hemingway,
And from Jack London-- “Life is not always a matter of holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand well.”
Tutto a posto, Domani Inizia un nuovo giorno. Pace. :)
😅🤣😋😂
Yep,see you took the tail off you're beard.Looks good,distinguished.
Hi nick,Had camera up my bum
Removed 2 polipts
Waiting now for ultrasound in 2 weeks to see a problems in my bowel and take a blood test
Had a MELD Score of 17 does anyone know what this means good or bad Andy from UK
I also have a false knee
Hey Andy! I don't know about the UK but in the US typically a MELD score of 15-17 is the minimum required score. Not sure about the knee but my left knee is mostly metal as well.
Sounds like you need that like a hole in the head. Can always be worse though. Hope you recover quickly. Not being able to keep busy sucks. Really kills the mode.
Just happy to be here my friend! 😁
I hear ya! Serious Health issues with drinking really is the ultimate deterrent. I haven't had any urges to drink at all since my issues started. I'm just done with it. First time in my life I can actually say that and mean it. @@fortressfarms82
Got MELD Score of 17 is this good or bad Andy UK
It's about in the middle. In the US it takes a min of 15 to be eligible for transplant. But of course that's just in my state. I believe that varies depending on the hospital.
Just seen a film on george bests end very depressing
