Got mine with about a weeks wait after I had my photo taken at my VA facility. I only use it at the VA, my Retired Navy ID gets me everything else I need.

Most states put veteran right on the license Tennessee does.

Why doesn't the County CVSO do this for you? I could have used your information When i got out in 1979.

Cool I never herd of a veterans ID Card and i've been out of the service for over 30 years .I know that those who served 20 years or more had a Black ID card dependents had I think orange Reserves and national guard pink/red some had a blue but not sure for what group and us active duty had a green card .I have a VA card it's white but like I said never heard of a Veteran ID I will look into it thanks .

Some commissary requires the scanning of my retired ID card to purchase items. Is the veteran ID card compatible?

Being a Vietnam Vet just gotten my new ID card.

These VA Cards are NOT in the Military system for Gate Guards at Military Bases to check. You have to take your card, your car registration or a picture of it, your drivers license and proof of insurance to the Visitor Center at the Base/Fort etc., and register yourself. Once that is done you can use the card at the gate to get on Base and shop at the PX/BX or Commissary. I know because they took my Retired CAC the other day as OPM had cancelled them, and I had to go through this SchiffT Show to get on Base.

VA I.D.'s cards are only good for I.D. if you get stopped by an M.P. in civilian life. Which is not to happen since you've been used , abused & "discarded" .

If you can get into a private school, do that, so you can pocket the student aid. Private schools give out more generous aid packages.

I am still waiting to hear from VA about my ID card. Seems I was approved but haven’t heard anything back from them yet. I guess I haven’t jumped through enough hoops yet! I never applied for one earlier, so I guess I’ve been without one since 1977, so I guess I can do without one now.

If retiring in 2 yrs, can I still transfer my months to dependents before I get out?

I make below 100 k a year. They will take your money if you want a va home loan, but when i applied for service connected disability they said i needed to apply b4 2001, and i make too much money per year for that? Wtf?
