  • We used our VA loan in 2019 to buy a duplex. After two years of a long term tenant and having our mortgage covered, we're switching to Airbnb.

    Ceiling fan is great in a kitchen. Circulates air when it gets warm or if something burns. As a big cook, the kitchen gets warm when you’re baking and cooking and a hot kitchen is miserable for the cook.

      Thanks Mia! We did end up getting rid of it. Perhaps we could have kept it though.

    Jason you’re a beast! Any questions I ever have about my benefits it seems like you have the answers and you break em down great. I’m excited to use my va home loan for the first time as well as VR&E which I have my first meeting with my councilor tomorrow! P.S. no ceiling fan in the kitchen!!

    Sooo can you go into more detail about the travel nurses thing. I'm trying to do the same thing as you and someone had mentioned travel nurses

    I wish it was a course I could pay for to know how to use my va home loan to start Airbnb 👀

    • @jasonburds
      @jasonburds  Год назад

      Interesting. I could make that. What do you think that would be worth to you?

      @@jasonburds I’ve paid 500$ on a course for Airbnb knowledge which was great info but he left out veterans🙂. Am really interested in using the particular benefit for Airbnb purposes but not sure of the foundation.

      No kidding? I've got tremendous lessons learned through this process and would love to share them with everyone. I've never made a course before so give me some time. I'm also not that greedy, so it'll be far cheaper than that guy. But I appreciate you putting this on my mind.

    How do you find out local rents and vacancies for long term rentals?

    • @jasonburds
      @jasonburds  Год назад

      For long term? You can check rents by shopping as if you needed a place to live. Look on facebook marketplace, craigslist, zillow etc for 1,2,3, etc bedroom apartments. You can also use www.rentometer.com which allows you 5 free area searches and will give you rental ranges.
      As far as vacancy goes, you can call real estate agents or appraisers in your area and tell them who you are, what you're trying to do and ask if they'd be willing to share the data they have on the market - specifically vacancy. Just make sure you show appreciation, be concise with your questions and know exactly what you want to ask. Don't waste their time and they'll be happy to answer a few questions.
