I think inferno coud be used diferent, maybe use de wolf itself to damage the troops and explodes the buildings
What if you immediately get heavy infantry and go full "berserknarok" flaming weapons when you hit heroic? What is the counter? Is that too crazy?

Why give up immediately after you've lost a battle in the water? The ultimate goal in the game is still to break the base that is on land.
Why not just make an army on land and break the base while the enemy is busy with ships? I don't see any problem with that.
SOOOOO sweeet. I love it. i have the proplem that my micro is to bad atm to army split i am glad when i can micro the axeman to fokus infantire in group figths. yeah but watching you play shows dat fundamentals are so important and you can go very far with that. Maybe we meet somday on ladder!

Is this strategy effective in Egypt as well? I always find myself countered by the god powers of Anubis, snakes, and mummies, and I lose the game at the Tier 3 Mixdol Fortress.
Yeah, I think this is good vs egyptian too! Hirdman actually counter all the migdol units, but obviously dies quickly to chariot archer. You will also need TA if he makes axemen...

I wonder if opponent could catch you off guard with full on hoplite+toxotes transition (with emphasis on toxotes) after his initial centaur + heroes poke, as you don't really have vision on his production buildings until pushing into his base (at which point you've made investment into hirdmen). Would full hersir still do well enough against that? I suppose those wouldn't be Hades toxotes, but still.
Hersirs with all these Thor upgrades are honestly not bad! They won't win vs hoplite toxotes, but then they are faster, so you can decide when to fight. And if you get heroic with FW they will win against hop+tox for sure!

I think developers should add a feature when healthpoints drop below 20% wounded units move gradually slower the lower the health.

Any recommendations on what to do as Norse when you're playing a god without access to hall of thanes, like Freyr or Odin?
They have access to Freyja, so you can just mass raiding cavalry with medium upgrade and thundering hooves. They are good vs both centaurs and hippeus! If he goes hoplites instead of hippeus, you go hersirs + TA!

eggy priests are a good counter, but you need heroic age! Their range is way too low in classical imo

Yes!! I did this in two games during my Red Bull qualifier run. Perfectly viable with Loki too.

What's your opinion on full Dwarfs build?
looks really interesting! Big downside that you need to use dwarven mine or leave your base for 2nd gold a lot earlier, but I think it has a lot of potential. Haven't played around with it myself just yet...
Hey Suppe, I've been doing that build vs centaurs, but the real issue are the Poseidon centaurs which are 5.9 Base speed and have equally speedy hippeus that Bodyblock and slow down your heros even further . How do you deal with that ?
ye, poseidon makes things harder! They can even add the +10% movement speed from Spirited Charge. The good thing about facing poseidon is that he is slower to get started. He gets favor slower and doesn't start with 10 favor. So vs Poseidon you can maybe get away with doing a semi-fast heroic or something like that. You can then use Frost on his army and wall in the centaurs! idk, it's a tough matchup, and you are probably right that this is more useful vs zeus than pos.
Oh nice, thanks for bringing that up. I wasn't sure if Poseidon only boosted human cav only or if centaurs counted too.
You maybe could have built fewer trolls and just placed another healing spring in the middle of the map this particular game. I'm not sure if its something to plan for or whether it's entirely worthwhile - but in positions where you're this far ahead, just sitting healing while gold starving is maybe better than anything else you can do with the favour in classical age.
Hey, I do eventually get a healing spring in the middle! I'm honestly not sure if it's worth spending so much favor on, but like you say, it's extremely useful!
@@HUSKSUPPE Hey thanks for the response! I saw the spring after the center TC, but like you said even at that point you could have done anything you wanted you were so far ahead. I just wonder whether a second spring is a better use for the metric tonnes of favor you generate with hammer of thunder hersir - I have a hard time using it efficiently in the classical age, and trolls feel relatively middling and slow for this quick hersir+hirdman army.

He won after that Inferno. If Kimo spread to the sides fo Fenrir probably would keep ahead and fighting. Specially the Son of Osiris had little use after the explosion. He could retreat, but didn't realize the throwing axeman. This is a game of 2 great players using eco gods. Maybe would be nice to see TheMista play stylw against some agressive and more chalenging adversary.

It's hard for me to make Freyja and Freyr sound distinct in English. Also, in Danish his name is Frej, so I find it weird to say freyr 11

rock giants useless against eggy. Priest and soO can kill em so easy and they are so slow. especially every eggy player playin around their chariots and rock giant cant even engage em cuz of their big ass rocky body :D
Yoo, you're right. All that armor on rock giants no good vs Egyptian heroes with divine damage... I didn't even consider that
@@HUSKSUPPE Actually its not about the myth units he is playin bragi cuz of battle boars or "call of valhalla" and "svine array". Mista secretly build anti cavalary army maybe thats why he choose bragi cuz of the techs. Im norse main i cant teach u game cuz im %100 sure ur atleast 2x better then me and im norse main cuz of you :D But anyways im so proud that i give u some advices yeaaaaaaaah :D Love you man !
Why is matching 2nd town centre better than going all-in one town centre age 3 timing attack here for freyr?
Freyr gets allllll the upgrades at half price, so he is perfectly happy just sitting back and getting those! all-in strategies are, needless to say, a lot riskier, and since this is a tournament game, Mista went for the safe (and easy) option!
@@HUSKSUPPE doesn't the cheaper tech matter more in the midgame as opposed to the lategame as once Ra also has a really strong economy he can also afford upgrades? I'm worried if the game goes too late then freyr's tech advantage stops mattering as much
@@skellyboyopal well, just consider that you need to both hit heroic and THEN research all the heroic age techs, it takes quite a while before they are all in! Otherwise you are right, super late game eggy should win..!

@@skellyboyopal yes I would say that! It is only super late game when egyptian has 100+ civilian units and most upgrades that they really start to roll over norse!

yes, I think he will usually go Aegir though. Not sure why he prefers Bragi here, maybe because it was a slow game and he knew he could easily get a full pop army which makes FW that much better!
It’s probably because the eggy kills myth units with pierce and the boar has high pierce protection.
I love to see norse get to see some play outside of the old odin/loki gameplay :D i love retold man so many new players and strategies. 2v2 also looks like the best fun :D
Im rewatching this and have another question why are you and other thor players building normal Villigers and not mainly dwars i thougth the thor dwars are as good as the norm villiger? so why not save the 200 food for the faster age up? what am i missing ? as allways much love lad
Good question, I see some players going literally full dwarves! Look up Ourk for example. Still haven't tried it, but I think it had potential, might even be better like you say. One big downside is that you will deplete your first gold faster which is a problem
@@HUSKSUPPE i now tried 2 games vs ki. and i am just not as good at makro like you guys it dosent matter if i use norm villis or dwarfs i allways end up wit a 3:45/50 idk XD i gues i just build stuff XD if i have hunt i go vill if i have bad hunt maybe dwarfs. but in my elo no body early presures anyway XD
@@ManamindEU honestly, 4:45 advance not even that bad vs certain opponents. But also yeah, Thor much much harder to play than Odin/Loki or any of the other civs!
you should do more casting! watching kimo's Ra die like that was devastating. the combat is more interesting when you can dodge the god powers. you can't really dodge something like meteorite. I almost feel like the game would be better if some of the god powers were more dodgeable. this is kind of why that inferno was so exciting.
@@mermanofeternia yes!! That's what makes League of legends interesting, seeing the big outplays and predictions and so on.
Why do you say that if both players boom, it benefits Norse (in general) more? I thought it's mainly just better for Thor and Freyr whose full bonuses only kick in in the lategame? Would love to hear your insights! 😄 Great game! Freyr's such a well-designed major god for Norse! I love his style. Reminds me a little of Delhi Sultanate from AoE4
@@kalorathekau because Norse will generally struggle early on, but if both players are booming then Norse hits their mid game power spike for free! In late game eggy wins yeah, but it takes quite a while to get there

When you select a villager on a task, for example gold, you can see it in the villager UI
This is the way i play too 😂 need to get my basics clean before playing at this level but on paper it's quite simple. Inferno and tempest are so broken, he used bragi here but tempest is so damn strong too. Had the game gone on longer, again, freyr ballista deal +30%dmg with all bonuses, that pop efficiency carries his late game very well
When you see the inferno, you need to run to the oposite side :o

If Kami had attacked TheMista he would have escaped the explosion. Beautiful move by TheMista for calculating and positioning the explosion behind Kami's troops, already anticipating that he would retreat 😄
Reminds me of the movie Prometheus, instead of running to the side and avoiding getting crushed you keep running in the direction it's falling.
