Great video. With TF One, we're seeing Megatron as a tragic fallen Cybertronian. The scene where Megatron walks away and Optimus remembering their first encounter as mining bots made it more tragic and emotional that the friendship ended this way. Megatron isn't always the cruel evil being. In Transformers Armada he accepted defeat and sacrificed himself at the end to save others. In the power of the primes he was no longer a villain but worked mostly with the Autobots and sacrificed himself before he could become Galvatron again.

Megatron is evil yes, but you understand his anger. His rage is justified but his action isnt. Perfect negative character arc

Megatron did nothing wrong.

I've done research on anti-villains prior to seeing this film. It actually became very easy to see Dx16 become Megatron from the moment he exclaims his wish to send Sentinel to the incinerator, so to speak.

I am a huge Shockwave fan but even I was not prepared for the cruelty he displayed I am disappointed that he died but considering this is Transformers there is a chance he might return. His appearance may have been brief but he left a huge impact.

Gateway reminds me of Pharma. Another corrupt Autobot, who sold out his own patients and sold their body parts for profit and his own survival He was essentially an evil version of Ratchet. I like the idea of some Autobots being willing to commit horrible crimes to achieve their goals as it adds a layer of grey morality to the war.

the movie imo is the opposite of the starwars sequels in just one area: a good story and proper character growtg

One thing id like to add is that the red eye color (atleast for g1) isnt necessarily for evil, rather its for an intensly passionate bot (Hotspot for instance) so his eyes progressively turning from yellow to red has an extra layer to it

I think I can confidently say that these comics have some of the best human characters in Transformers. And I know that's not exactly a high bar to clear; the Bay movies were criticized for focusing too much on the humans and not enough time on the Transformers, and while that is true, I'd argue that if the humans were better written (and more tied in with the Transformers), they wouldn't stand out as much as an issue. These comics I feel strike a really good balance of having human characters who have arcs and agency in the story without overshadowing the giant robots we're all here for.

You know,i just wish they made of comic to explore more of Optimus and Elita's romance into further views then normal,i just feel sad to know that they are not a couple in the Skybound Energon Universe and Skybound Elita is willing to sacrifice one world to safe her own,i just know one thing,the next time Skybound Optimus and Elita meet again,both will try to kill each other,and it will be a hard choice that Optimus will have to make,and he is already at his breaking point,he lost so many friends,he lost Jetfire and Ratchet,but losing Bumblebee took a deep tall on him and it's only a matter of time before Nemesis Prime rises.

i wouldnt really say megatron is the main villian of the movie, but i would rather say its sentinel

D-16 wasn't 'wrong' exactly. In fact, I personally do believe that Sentinel should have been punished for his crimes, via death penalty if judged so. The part where he really goes wrong is right after he shoots Orion. He lets Orion fall, knowingly drops him so Orion can no long stop him, so nothing can stop him from killing Sentinel. Its not about justice or the good of the people then. D-16/Megatron was angry, and wanted to kill Sentinel for that anger. He no longer cared what he had to destroy to get his revenge. That was where Megatron truly went wrong.
