As a quick note, this video is on Issues 1-12 (Vol. 1 & 2). However, the Vol. 2 trade paperback has not yet been released. Didn’t want to make it look like the single book in the video contained all 12 issues as it does not.
Daraak became such endearing character, he went through such amazing character development and learned to see the bigger picture of what is going between the two races, about their war and like his dynamic with his Droid-Hand.
I mean Void Rivals Arc 1 was okay start for the EU, but Arc 2 man, easily the more better one than Arc 1. Hot Rod introduced in a mission to find Springer, Proximus hunting down Darak and Solilla, Darak’s development and especially the fight scenes with Springer. I have always wondered how the Autobots and Decepticons would fight opponents smaller than them that fight like Anime Characters. The battle between Springer and Proximus is my favorite fight in all of the Energon Universe
I agree that the character templates are not super groundbreaking - I'm right there with you about the whole Starlord/Gamora-esque dynamic - but it doesn't diminish my enjoyment of the series. My expectation/hope is that these characters become much more interesting and fleshed out as the series goes on. I think we're seeing hints of that, so hopefully it continues. While I think the writing is solid, the art is what makes the book a must-read, in my opinion. De Felici is a heck of a storyteller, and the atmosphere in this comic is off the charts! All the lore (original and Transformers-related) doesn't hurt either...
Hi @Delta Trion . I gotta say it's pretty cool to see you in the comments same TF channels I'm subscribed to , Retro&Reissue and Moonbase3 and THEN learning you have figures of your own . It's just been a joy watching your videos , but you told me before that you want your content to be just as good the awesome channels I mentioned but you upload fairly frequently, how do you, knowing them , make or come up with an idea for a video that's original idea about a topic that hasn't been done before , I praise your opinions and the unique direction you choose to explore within the Energon Universe. Lots of love man, keep it up!.
Thank you my friend for all the kind words! I've run a couple of small YT channels in the past, but I was always pretty quiet in the comments. I really enjoy not just replying to comments on my videos, but also being present in other YTers comment sections. It's been a real treat jumping into the community after being a silent lurker for the past 10+ years. Making the content because I love creating, but also because people like you watch 💙💙💙
I personally really enjoyed the first 6 issues of Void Rivals. Despite now realizing that Darak and Solila are kind of just a copy of Star Lord and Gamora I do really enjoy their characters. I mean my icon right now is literally Darak so it is obvious I like him. I personally think if you enjoy the Energon Universe you will enjoy Void Rivals.
4:00 I didn't even know he had a name, for me it was always the "humanoid pig" lol. I think I'll give the comic a chance if I find somewhere to read it. It sounds interesting to me
I think the energon universe really only has the main transformers book that is really great. While void rivals and the gi joe comics so far just don't really have the emotional core that transformers has, and so I just don't care that much about anybody in the joe books or void rivals. And they're not BAD books, but it doesn't feel like anybody is really bringing their A game like Johnson is writing wise. Like void rivals is by Robert Kirkman, a very talented writer who I've read other books by, and void rivals just isn't up to snuff with those other books he's read. All in all it's an okay book, but I can only keep up with a book like that for so long before I drop it
@@skyyswaggstudios2934 agreed. Something I didn’t mention in this is an interview with Krikman where he said he had an idea to start a comic book that then featured a Transformer as a surprise. And that after he got the go ahead to do that, he then had to figure out what Void Rivals was.

That's weird, I just picked up volume 2 last week.
@@hiddensquid7048 Interesting... it still says pre-order on September 17th for me
@DeltaTrion I'm in canada, so maybe it's different in different countries.
The short answer: yes
The long answer: kinda

Really looking forward to seeing more of this series. Hope it can ascend to the heights that Transformers has (especially with issue 12)
@@DeltaTrion Issue 12 was wild! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
A guy at a comic store was checking out volume 2, I started talking to him and basically sold him on the whole energon universe.

Future Headmasters? Powermasters? Micromasters?!?!
With the second arc of Transformers being concluded now. I’d love to see a general impressions video of the arc and characters as a whole
That'll be coming to the channel for sure! This weekend we've got my TFOne impressions, so it might not be until the end of September.
@@DeltaTrion my impatient ass is high from the latest chapter, but gotta let a man cook!

Worth it.
I'm starting to think they may be early city speakers or something similar.
