You explain what drop rates are very well, yet you make a similar mistake to many other arguments. There is no such thing as a “lucky” or “unlucky” player. Each roll for a drop is statistically independent from one another, meaning it does not matter what your history in the game is (aside from the dupe protection and guaranteed drop mechanics). The concept of being “lucky” is a myth based on a person’s psychological behavior and understanding of their personal experience. Two people could have the same exact drops in the same order and one will say they are lucky and the other will complain they didn’t get what they want. It’s all a matter of perspective.

Homie spent 5 minutes explaining what the word "luck" means, then followed it up by saying untradeable direct account upgrades shouldn't have bad luck protection due to it being a "slippery slope". Of course ignoring the fact that all other major untradeable cape upgrades are completely guaranteed. Fire, infernal, god cape, imbued god cape, accumulator, and dizanas all come guaranteed with completing their relevant content. Feels like you misunderstand how luck interacts with MMO economies considering you having an issue with untradable items being guaranteed. You also seem to genuinely believe that bad luck protection on untradable teleports to boss fights has a significant impact on the value of that bosses loot, which is such a mathematically wild take its crazy. Thinking that guaranteeing a Slepey Tablet at a 100 kills is genuinely devaluing nightmare drops because of like the 3 players who might have gone 500 dry would have had to spend a few less seconds on each of their trips, totalling like 3-5 whole items less circulating the entire market is such an absolutely crazy way to think about it.

a game bug and exploit imo is keeping your first 99 cape untrimmed. technically your supposed to lose your untrimmed when you get a second 99 skill. but since you can drop it achieve the 2nd 99 then tele grab it it stays untrimmed. but if you do it any other way it's get trimmed. like if you drop it and pick it up. trimmed😂 give us an option to trim and untrim the first skill that acquires 99 on the account. solves this issue. and yes it's only a graphical exploit but still. if you ever lost your first untrimmed and wanted it back we should be able to do it without jumping through hoops

As a returning player from pre 07 era, i was shocked at all the janky shit players do to play this game, kinda weird and disappointing meta gamers find a way to exploit anything

solo cm cox is like 62-63k points. idk where in the world u got 55,6k points from. even if u tightrope skip u arent close to that

Major one in BA (and probably other places where a timer is focused around the player) are interface and animation stalls. One of the most dangerous was the vengeance spell casting the player to appear as if they're not move visually, but could be on the opposite side of the map. These animations also could stop the player from doing anything until it was done, which will delay other actions from processing. This delay makes it so creatures spawn later, or have a wave end earlier.

Any tick manips are bannable in my opinion... its not a way to show good you are its a way to show you can cheat in a video game. Just like cod and other games if you cant play it right then you shouldnt play it all using "bugs" to your advantage doesnt make youngood it actually makes you bad... imagine how many people would suck at rs if they removed the ability to pray flick or tick eat, or anything like that... only the people thatbtruly mastered the game would be able to play it. Thats why i never and will never use runelite... i dont need a client to tell me where to stand or how much health i have... i use my eyes and memory... aka getting good at the game...

Interface stalling - if you open an interface, many things will get paused. For example, you can open an interface, and pause poison and venom until said interface is closed. You can do the same with skilling actions. If you click on a tree from a distance, and open an interface before your character starts chopping, your character will pause, and will not swing their axe until you close the interface. This used to most easily be performed with any skills menu. But they made it so you can still play the game behind an open skills menu. But there are still other ways to perform this

Bug and glitch are 2 completely seperate things, a bug is an unintended consequence of a line of code- prayer flicking is a example as it's a consequence of the code that makes prayer drain reset when all prayers are deactivated, A glitch is something the player does to cause that unintended consequence. No clipping etc

Red x was actually fixed by jagex a couple years ago, however they reverted the fix a few days after though because of outrage from the community

Funny that most of the competitive game mechanics in FPS games were bugs, Halo 2’s button glitches or CoD’s many movement glitches all became staples to show your skill level and helped really put the professional players on another level.

One thing I will disagree with about the video is that glitches being accepted as game mechanics is wierd. Fighting game combos are the poster child for glitches turned mechanics (and honestly series like street fighter are more full of this thing than rs).

I wonder, do these, mainly prayer flicking and tick manipulation, exist on RS3? Because I hate how all endgame content in OSRS is just "flick or get 1 shot"

I know i'm alone in this, but I really dislike the game leaning into these obscure mechanics. Especially since there's no QoL around these mechanics and most of the player base can't even perform these mechanics without third party plugins. Yes they are cool when for instance I'm watching Rendi do fight caves on the lowest level 3 account, but it's not something I want to learn to play the game that I started playing bc if its simplicity

I’d call ToA a lot more laid back, you can literally watch a movie while consistently ripping sub 40 500s with some practice, CoX feels a lot more engaging, each raid has it’s place for sure, at least for me

Corporeal beast solo mechanic is an example of mechanic that was not expected to be like this (just spam bgs/dwh spec to debuff and rebanking till the boss looks like a goblin before start the kill) also if you dont decrease her deff/atk and try to kill normally, the boss is still "unsolable".

Prayer flicking shouldn't exist, the inferno should be reworked around that, and we should have an older copy of the game because nothing in Oldschool feels old anymore. I'd die for a 2007 copy to be re-released and called Oldschool Classic with no future updates but only bot bans and bug fixes.

Just from the title, I was guessing I'd see BA's omega egg "mechanic" in this video. They even have the mechanic spelled out in the wiki now.

I think prayer flicking being a required mechanic has irreversibly ruined the game and how all future updates are analysed.

I think exploit is the better term. You are exploiting the tick system in a way not intended by the devs but not any bug present in said system.

IIRC alot of things the dev team added wasn't intentional. Funny how all of these " errors " made this game what it is and how we play today.

They also don't tell you about 90% of the game after you leave tutorial. You're taught how the game fundamentally works, then it's up to you to explore the world. That's the beauty of an MMO experience. It's a whole world to discover, not a checklist.

As other people mention, 1tick mechanics are nowhere explained to the new players. Without the help of youtube and googling new people would never figure this out. Content locked behind this is bad for the game long term

I get pretty frustrated when content is more or less locked behind some of these. Prefer more reactive content like Leviathan praying instead of abusing something like Olm to just not attack you.

A lot of the mechanics you listed were actually known of in 2009, just a overwhelming majority of the player base didn't know them. We literally watched Woox tick eat back in the day, kill jad with only 1 prayer point... That means flicking... They were certainly in use. I myself was prayer flicking for dps on slayer tasks, I know for certain people knew about prayer flicking.

Hmmm stalls like npc contact, feeding pet cat, rock cakes at tob, butterfly at akkah, etc. btw lazy and 1t flickering are basically different skills, and people need to be able to do both well at some point. People abuse all sorts of stuff for any boss speed runs if ur curious just find world records
