  • Hello everyone! Today I wanted to talk about the weird battle players vs luck have to take on. Everyone's experience in the game changes so much depending on this one factor, so its pretty interesting to see what the developers have done to counteract some luck factors, while also increasing our lucky odds!
Let me know what you think in the comments! Thank you!

Homie spent 5 minutes explaining what the word "luck" means, then followed it up by saying untradeable direct account upgrades shouldn't have bad luck protection due to it being a "slippery slope". Of course ignoring the fact that all other major untradeable cape upgrades are completely guaranteed. Fire, infernal, god cape, imbued god cape, accumulator, and dizanas all come guaranteed with completing their relevant content. Feels like you misunderstand how luck interacts with MMO economies considering you having an issue with untradable items being guaranteed. You also seem to genuinely believe that bad luck protection on untradable teleports to boss fights has a significant impact on the value of that bosses loot, which is such a mathematically wild take its crazy. Thinking that guaranteeing a Slepey Tablet at a 100 kills is genuinely devaluing nightmare drops because of like the 3 players who might have gone 500 dry would have had to spend a few less seconds on each of their trips, totalling like 3-5 whole items less circulating the entire market is such an absolutely crazy way to think about it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who watched this whole video just thinking "what the fuck is this dude talking about"

Indeed. I think he's trying to look at it from a market POV, which is a horrendous take. Getting greedy rich does nothing to help the player base grow. Even if you make an item like tumeken's shadow a guaranteed drop after 500 raid completions it wouldn't devalue the item. You'd still have to spend 11 days
      on-stop\.
Right now the drop rates are designed the way they are to slow down players from reaching the inevitable problem with runescape: The power ceiling. What do you do when you're maxed level and maxed gear ? You quit (Except for the terminally online). There's not much to do after you've completed the latest raid for the 1000th time because it was the last piece of content you've had this year(Right now that would be the Colosseum).

So basically what they should do for drop rates is make them guaranteed but only for my account.

You explain what drop rates are very well, yet you make a similar mistake to many other arguments. There is no such thing as a “lucky” or “unlucky” player. Each roll for a drop is statistically independent from one another, meaning it does not matter what your history in the game is (aside from the dupe protection and guaranteed drop mechanics). The concept of being “lucky” is a myth based on a person’s psychological behavior and understanding of their personal experience. Two people could have the same exact drops in the same order and one will say they are lucky and the other will complain they didn’t get what they want. It’s all a matter of perspective.

I think the greenlog thing should only be there for ironmen, everyone else can use gp to offset bad luck
