Merry Christmas, Kathleen! I so love your amazing Christmas fairy. And thanks for sharing your Wanamaker's memories, I share them from when I was a very little girl...what a glorious place it was at Christmas. It's good to know that the current management has a Christmas market.
Hi Kathleen! Your Christmas fairy is adorable! I can't wait to see her with all the beading. That's a perfect frame you have for her. Enjoy Philly! And a very Merry Christmas to you!
OMG, Christmas Elf Fairy looks great. I can't wait to see how the fabric comes out. Let's get a date booked, one of the summer months. Hopefully I'll be back home by then. Merry Christmas to you my friend.
Kathleen enjoyed the video and love the elf ferry. Where are the two libraries that you were talking about. I would love to come if I have the day off. Merry Christmas .
Beautiful elf ferry, I remember when you were stitching on it in New Jersey.
Your weekend in Philly sounds lovely, I hope you enjoy it. All your stitches are beautiful. I'm happy to see what you accomplish each video. I've been using the Floss away bags, too, for storage. I must say yours is much more compact, so I need to visit that again. Thanks for sharing. My mind is always spinning after seeing your ideas.
Kathleen looks like the girl in the Wanamaker frame is needlepoint and the framer didn't want to cut the threads. Years ago my Grandmother needle pointed seat cushions for her dining room chairs. After she passed my Mom and her sisters took the needlepoint off the chairs and all the girls got one. We made pillows out of ours and I cherish mine. Lovely stitching, enjoy your Christmas trip!
I didn't know you were on Instagram. Could u post your Instagram name here?
You find the CUTEST patterns! Thanks for sharing!
The Christmas Elf Fairy is beautiful! That oval frame is a great find -- I'm amazed the purple background was stitched! that's a lot of work by someone. Maybe it could become a project bag? That sweater ornament is adorable - and it's iridescent!
I am so far behind. I started the Christmas Cat by Satsuma Street in November's WIPGO. It went SO much faster than I thought it would, probably because there's a good deal of block stitching!
I loved seeing your different project choices for Christmas stitching!
Great video. I want to start Christmas/winter stitching.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful stitching and patterns. Have a great 2 weeks of stitching!
Thank you for sharing have a wonderful week and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩🎄❄️
Fun Video! Wonderful stitching! We have similar tastes in charts.😊
Hi Kathleen! I love your Quaker pillow, especially the color choices! And the witch looks great; I remember you working on that massive skirt at Sweata Weather!
I came here from Sunshine Stitchers. Your Quaker pillow is breathtaking! I would have never thought to make it into a pillow. Pony needles are on my list to try. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Kathleen your banding sampler is beautiful as is your quaker pillow. Never tried Pony Needles but would like to try a pony needle. Have a great Thanksgiving! 🦃🍂
That pillow is soooooo pretty
😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
Hi Kathleen! Your ABC bell pull and Quaker pillow look lovely! I like where you're hanging the bell pull. I definitely don't see a mouse in that Santa ornament 😂. Those are the curls of his beard. The rest of Santa's face looks to be covered by the words, which I assume are a sign of some sort (it looks like his hands might be holding it up). Have a happy Thanksgiving!
Enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing. The Jardin Prive band sampler is beautiful. Also, love your pillow finish on One Dozen Quakers, the colors are so pretty. I have been wanting to try the Pony needles, just haven't purchased them yet.
Pony Needles
They have fabric bands at salty yarns in Berlin, md near ocean city. I wrote to company about pony needles...if there was a different between black and white tip ...they said no just some prefer white tip for seeing the eye
First time watcher - new subscriber. I can only see a mouse too! Enjoyed your flosstube - loved the Quaker pillow. What was the count and fabric again? Was it a zweigart? Thanks, Steph from Northern England 😊
Let me know when you are in DC area and I can try to head up to In Stitches (Cathy from Stitch North). Would love to catch up with you. I have not tried the pony needles yet.
Hi Kathleen, Your Quaker pillow is beautiful. I also love the banding piece. I'm so sad about the German factory! I was given a blue Pony needle at Stitch New England. I absolutely love them. I would like to try the Black Pony needles as well sometime. Wishing you a peaceful trip to Chicago. xx Michelle
I would like the pony needle sometime.
I agree about your assessment of the neck light. My other complaint is that it doesn’t stay in place on my neck. If I’m wearing a hoodie I can sometimes keep it in place but most of the time it slides around. At a recent retreat a table mate gave me one of her pony needles and I love it. It was a black one with the white coating at the eye end, #28. I don’t think it is the black part that snags, I think the white part is what grabs the fabric. Is the Strawberry Sampler worth a trip from Collegeville? My daughter lives there and I’m always looking for interesting shops to go to when I visit. Your band sampler is wonderful. I recently bought some of the banded fabric from a FB destash site. Happy Stitching.
I would like to try the pony needles .
A friend at stitch group gave me one pony needle to experiment with…so far I like it when working on forty count verdal and I feel it does glide through the fabric easily. I noticed that Amazon has the pony needles in a pack with the brightly coloured eyes for the different sizes. 🦉🧵🪡
CONGRATULATIONS on the beautiful pillow finish. The pony needles we got on the cruise I love! The ones you're giving away I don't like.
Hi Kathleen, I bought Pony needles , size 28, at the Wild retreat. Both the black and the regular. I sat right down and started using them and the black ones I bent right away, 2 of them. I use the sewing method so that's probably why, my grip is different. So Pony needle #28 is not my favorite, but maybe I could use the thicker #26 size without bending? them? By the way, beautiful pillow finish!
Oh I love your Quaker pillow finish! I enjoyed your video... can you tell us what you would use the interfacing for?
If it’s interfacing or stabiliser stitchers use them on the back of their stitching to ‘hold’ the stitches in place if they are making them into pillows. Interfacing will also prevent any tiny pieces of crushed walnut shells to come through the stitching - again if you are making pillows. You would often use interfacing if you are making project bags too.
Hi Kathleen, thanks for sharing your travels and patterns. I think Sant Nick has wind in his face, black gloves
I have wanted to try the black Pony Needles, but haven't wanted to spend the money in case I don't like them. I know, it's just a couple dollars, but I could get Floss instead. Maybe I'll get to try them in the future. At first I saw a mouse. It's Santa. I think he's coming down the chimney. In the poem A Visit From St. Nicholas by Clement Clarke Moore (also known as 'Twas the Night before Christmas), Santa has a "nose like a cherry", hence the red nose. Those are some really nice frames you found. I can never seem to find any I like.
Holly St Nick… hubby says that is an old ladies legs and shoes 👠😂😂😂
I love the black Pony Needles. I have many different brands of needles and for the most part I like all of them except the ones that the eye of the needle breaks. Love your videos.
Thank you for the recap on the retreat love seeing all the goodies have a wonderful week and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
I spy a few charts I might need in your haul
Loved hearing about your retreat adventures. Great haul and you can't beat a freebie table. Have a good two weeks!
Enjoyed hearing about your Retreat. Loved the haul.
Hi Kathleen: I’m glad you like the colors in your Gentle Arts packet. I enjoyed our stitching table very much; congratulations on your finish and your progress on both dresses!- Caroline
I know what you mean about unpacking. I just did two retreats in October. I’m trying to sort everything out. Happy stitching.
Hey! Yes, let's start Hightide in 2025! I also have Rust Rhapsody. I'm so happy you had a great time at both retreats. I'm going to be on a very limited budget for 2025.
Hi Kathleen, Nice retreats ! Thanks for sharing all the goodies. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Love your FFO the board is great!
Hi 😊, I've been watching your flosstubes since the beginning. I've been inspired by your creative framing. Love the fabric that you dyed for Wicked. It reminds me of a golden sky. FYI, the "gh" in Murtagh is mostly silent. Like Murtaw. He is a character in Outlander. Stephanie has several fabric names that are references to various fandoms. Murtagh, Sassenach, Fraser's Ridge, Jamie's Kilt and Claire are all from Outlander.
Hi- I love your stitching. We seem to have similar taste in patterns. I recently finished stitching pumpkin row. Yours is so tiny! ❤ I love your Witches Hearth piece. I ordered the pattern from GaRon a few weeks ago and can't wait to start it. Were you sitting up front at SNE? I think I saw you stitching it there. That dress looks like a beast to stitch but it's so beautiful! I loved the floss drops you handed out. Such a sweet cat.
