Practice with beer bottles. The glass is thin, so they don't take long to sand. Overall, just be patient, and have fun. It takes a while to get the hang of it, but it's definitely rewarding in the end. Cheers.

This was the first video I uploaded. I knew how to cut and polish glass, but didn't know much about removing labels. I've learned a lot since, and actually posted a video on it, even mentioned WD-40. Hi there. You always want to be using wet/dry paper. You need water to keep the dust down and the glass cool. The diamond polishing pads last a long time, but are really slow. I haven’t had much luck with them.

@cuttingcocktails well your proves your method works. I have cut several Demijohn bottles which need finishing off. I want to turn them in to lamp shades and sell them off. Great vid BTW.

It would definitely work on Buffalo Trace. The Buffalo Trace glass is thinner, so it wouldn't take as long either.

You're not wrong. It also makes it peaty, which is not great for cocktails.

The wide-angle lens is distorting the shape of the glass. In the last few frames you can tell it is square.
