How To Cut A Bottle Without Breaking It

  • There are multiple techniques for cutting a bottle, often with mixed results. The burning string method and scoring method with hot and cold water can cause the bottle to break in an undesirable way. If you’re cutting a thicker bottle or one that would be difficult to get a perfect score line on, you really need to use a wet saw. In this video, I’ll show you how to do that. As always, I’m happy to answer any questions. Cheers! #UpcyclingBottles #BottleCutting #GlassCutter #CuttingWineBottles #CuttingBeerBottles #DIY

This is the saw I'm using: amzn.to/41k4TdI If it's not available for international shipping, you'll need to find a power saw that you can outfit with a diamond blade. Diamond blades are pretty common. You should be able to find one. Best of luck.

How about the old Ronco glass cutter from 40+ years ago?
I remember folks used to use those to cleanly cut glass jars to use them for drinking glasses.

I’m having lots of issues with chipping when cut. Like bad chipping is there something I’m doing wrong. Help please.

It definitely takes some practice. Try going slower. If you push the bottle too hard against the blade, it can cause the glass to break, creating big, annoying chips.
