    Gorgeous glass. You’ve inspired me to try it myself. Would you mind doing a video on your setup and process?

      Yes. I am planning to do a more in-depth process video, probably with narration. I've got a couple of videos lined up before that so bear with me.

    Nice work!
    Question: would it be preferable to use an Angle Grinder to sand down big chips and uneven surfaces or to stick with a Drill Machine?

    • @cuttingcocktails
      @cuttingcocktails  Месяц назад +1

      An angle grinder would definitely work, but since it's two handed, you'd need to find a way to secure the glass. Probably a jig to hold it since it's risky to put glass into a vise. Or, you could strap the angle grinder to your workbench and hold the glass with your hands. Either way, it probably wouldn't shimmy as much as a drill. Appreciate the comment. Cheers.

    Dang, that is indeed a smooth finish.. Is it the polishing compound that does it? I have a bottle of some oxide glass polisher too Im gonna try later, something I bought for when trying to repair some scratches on the windshield

    • @cuttingcocktails
      @cuttingcocktails  9 месяцев назад

      I've never tried it on a windshield. With a cocktail glass, you really need to sand it smooth first. With deep scratches, the cerium oxide won't work. I've had to do a lot of experimenting, but that's my experience.

    • @ToolsAndHobbyTV
      @ToolsAndHobbyTV 9 месяцев назад

      @@cuttingcocktails Yeah it didn't work out on the windshield, maybe it took the super tiniest scratches I made while shoveling snow off it with a snow shuffle with a metal end at the bottom, which I didn't notice.. :P

    • @cuttingcocktails
      @cuttingcocktails  9 месяцев назад

      Hmm... what was the consistency when you applied it? You want it to be a little runny. And yeah, it probably removed some tiny scratches that you didn't even know were there.

    Can glass bottle be cut by a blade meant to cut gemstones and crystals?

    • @cuttingcocktails
      @cuttingcocktails  2 месяца назад +1

      Yeah, that would be a diamond blade I believe. That'll work. I posted a pair of how-to videos detailing my process, including the blade I use. Might be helpful. Best of luck with it. It's fun!

    You should have a set of four respective, custom glasses for each occasion that you mix these drinks.

    How long did it take you to sand away the big chip? I find it very hard to sand even with 120 grit sandpaper

    • @cuttingcocktails
      @cuttingcocktails  5 месяцев назад

      Maybe an hour. It was a deep chip and the glass was the thickest of any glass I've ever done. I bought a better blade after this video that gave me a much cleaner cut.
