The ruined wall in Ketteringham Hall Gardens was constructed of perpendicular 15th century tracery from Norwich Cathedral in the 1870s. Sir Francis Boileau's like his father before him, collected antiquities and acquired the stonework. In 1878 he had the stonework set on top of a wall of what would have once been a folly within the grounds of the Ketteringham estate known as “The Abbey”. Howeve...

The village of Great Massingham lies in the heart of the west Norfolk countryside. Nestled within the meadow lies one of the most dramatic sights in East Anglia. A mesmerising field of red poppies. The poppy is a very recognisable bright wildflower with its colour symbolising remembrance from the World War. Due to modern day farming techniques and herbicide spray the wildflower is now usually o...

So I take it that what I was told about the old Tombland toilets being an air raid shelter was true then. Apparently after the war the council didn’t know what to do with it, so built toilets in there, and the sloped walls around the top were built to remember the shape of the sandbags piled up around the entrance. Absolutely crazy that they removed those top walls, it could have been made into a flower bed or something, so that it could still represent the air raid shelter entrance as a tribute. Norwich Council not giving a damn about Norwich history yet again.

It is a shame more of these historic places aren’t cherished. Parts of the old city walls still stand in areas, but despite being in decline the section around Carrow Hill is still spectacular. The air raid shelter featured in the video is located near to the cathedral and is sometimes part of the Norfolk Heritage Open Days held every September 🙂

Hi - it is a devastating shame to lose such an iconic building in such a manner. The top floor was in remarkably good condition - I think it was saved by the fact the staircase was removed many years ago so explorers were never able to gain access so easily. I think there was possibly a basement / cellars underneath too but these probably got filled with rubble after the building was sadly demolished

Thank-you - you should definitely visit - the first time I visited the crypt was dusk one evening with failing light and when I reached the bottom of the steps my torch all of a sudden went dead so I was left in complete darkness. The torch was fully charged earlier that day and it was the first time I used it. It was quite a strange and unsettling experience. It is widely theorised in paranormal circles this could be a sign spirit is drawing energy in an attempt of direct communication - however I heard no voices but exited the crypt rather hastily. After this I left the phone camera running in the crypt and turned the lights on - meanwhile I sat in silence in the church - I thought this was worthwhile after the torch incident just to see if anything would show on camera or if I could capture any movements / voices in the crypt but on playback there was nothing to be seen or heard. Definitely worthy of an investigation though

Those who know their Bibles see the devil's game. Devils can impersonate anyone. This is why the LORD commanded to have nothing to do with the dead! Moses in Deuteronomy 18:9-13 lists every cultic practice that plays the world the fool! The world's wisest man to ever live, King Solomon said it plain enough: "the dead know not any thing," "for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave;" and thus "shall be as though they had never been." This is why the Bible calls death "sleep." Everyone sleeps "the sleep of death" until the resurrection, "for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ."

Greyfriars Priory is one of a few places I explore in the video along with the Leper Chapel within the graveyard of St James’s Church - there is an enchanting small bridge structure too in Greyfriar’s Wood which was originally built to link the grounds of the nearby Victorian mansion to the priory ruins. The footpath which runs under the bridge was previously Middlegate Street, an original medieval road which linked to the town.

Yes I’ve visited Tunstall Church - a spectacular ruin this one with a spooky tale too - here’s the video link for it - St Peter and St Paul Church Ruin - Tunstall - The Ghostly Manifestation and the Battle of the Bells! ruclips.net/video/AILbXQGfWnA/видео.html

Thanks for commenting - i didn’t know about the hidden room until i visited - this church was made infamous for the folklore - so was pleased to finally get to visit after hearing all the stories

There are several locations in Norfolk an Suffolk that dark entities reside. We have had our fair share of some of those locations and managed to capture some of our experiences on film.

Thanks for tuning in and commenting - I’ve captured a few EVPs over the years - this subterranean crypt has laid undisturbed for a very long time - it’s well hidden - most wouldn’t realise it is there unless you researched beforehand

    Interesting location, but very small

It is an amazing time capsule - well worth a trip - considering the weight and size of the buildings above it has done very well to survive so long 🙂

A place many local people seem to ignore. We investigated this and had some interesting experiences.

This is one of my favourite places to date which I’ve visited - when I first got inside I was just taken aback - it is a real time capsule and virtually unchanged from when the last prisoners left 150 years ago - once given the key I had the whole building to myself - it is rarely visited even now - i was told I was possibly the first to visit after lockdown so it had been sealed for many months prior to my visit - I caught a disembodied voice in here saying “come back” as I exited one of the cells - this EVP features in one of my other videos - Voices From Beyond -The Evidence So Far -Thetford Warren Lodge, Walsingham Bridewell & Santon Church ruclips.net/video/Yzfad0s_i7U/видео.html
