Glad to see you giving MD a go - it's one of my most often played titles. Do not fret at all, it does have a fairly steep learning curve to get the basics down. I think I got the achievement for first death within the first hour or two playing. Watch out for trees when getting logs - they do not always fall the way you expect!

When I was a kid I watched the gas gauge as dad drove across country convinced he wouldn't refill in time between towns. Now I watch stamina bars on flyers and was convinced PP would fall, but he always recharged in the nick of time. Then Jay fell.... Didn't you hear us all shouting? Must be too much creature noise in the Redwoods to hear anything....

Feels like we're starting to learn a bit about quests, skills, and people.

When I started watching this morning and saw you not finding reeds, I started downloading the game wondering if things had changed that much since I played. I had built my town much closer to a bunch of reeds. I'm glad you found them. Also, I had mentioned that you can inspect the people around the campfires in towns and see their stats in all the categories, so because I didn't remember I went into town to figure out which button it was, and its Left ALT. But you have to be pretty much right in front of them, it used to be different, and you could stand quite aways anyway. Oh, I see they added it to the menu on the right, it wasn't there before and if you didn't know, you didn't know. And it's used for finding the people in villages that you can buy and sell to, but that too is different, and you used to be able to push the button and see pretty much the whole town. Anyway, hope you're having fun. I like that they've added voices too.

at least on each map I have a ooops i pressed E button moment while flying lol I am to Chicken ( sicín) to grab a thyla from a tree using an Argent which is s embarssing because I am am old man lol I think thjat it is besacue did try acouple of times and was snipped oof my argent and then died when landing on the long trip to the ground . one thing that I still dont understand and that is why cant a barry be pickup up but a thyla can be picked up with an Argy I remmeber when I could pick up a barry with a Argy but they changed it I mean why would they do that since most times barrys are in the water and silly people like me liked to try and pick them up out of the water and ususally would end up in the water stunned whith my Argent hovering just above me . when I am not playing through the ARK se story I either start on rag mostly grab a horse then come back to the Island then later on go back to Rag grab a breeding pair of thylas come back , then later to gen map get some tek dinos like rexes from that one space biome . it would be pretty cool if they had Tek thylas . I spotted two thylas in trees one was just behind the titanasuar while you were flying towards it adn the second one was a few seconds later when you were fly back towards tha tblue drop and ran out of stamina ut was just to the left and behind the bluedrop all I was saying out loud was to your left but you ran out of stamina but then yo spotted it level 20 in the tree , wow what happene while you were killing your thyla you repeawns at the tree bed lol heaing philnger stammer wit h" the torch barer has one job made me giggle he sound like a child when a parent turns off the bedroom light and almost crys hehe the odds of finding a high level thyla on the ISland are really not that god and youtwo fin da level 145 wow nice

You can put your torch on Argy saddle so you have light without holding a torch in your hand.

You can turn off default survivor items in options menu so you dont get all those skins everytime you die.

Not going to lie, extremely jealous you found something other than a level 4 on the island. She's very pretty!

If you look on the right bottom of screen, you will see you don't need to have a hotbar slot for torch, just click "F" to use it when needed! It has been a while since I played this, but i think straw might be from the rushes between your house and the town? Keep it up, very enjoyable!

<< Burton Ernie. I don't know which button it is but one of the keybind buttons allows you to have knowledge of what's around you ( I don't remember what it's called). If you use it while next to the people (around the campfire) you might want to have in your village it will open up symbol with numbers corresponding above their heads displaying their skills in those categories. It can also help you find the people who are your store NPC's.

Your torch doesn't go on the hotbar. Early in the tutorial it had you press f while you're walking around. It seems it's just in your hand maybe? About the water thing. I thought maybe something wasn't right when you first tried to drink from the river, but I saw you try to, so I was as confused as you were that it didn't work. I'm really loving watching you play this game and figure it out. It's watching you do things without really knowing what you're doing that makes this series so entertaining for me. I can really relate and it helps me feel normal when it took me like 2 years of playing Ark before I felt like I had the basics, only to watch Phlinger and find out I really knew almost nothing. I actually prefer to watch noobs and armatures for entertainment and the "experts" only for their tutorials. I find it entertaining to watch you run around for an unusually long time trying to figure out a basic came mechanic because that's how I play games. And the squirrel distractions every 30 seconds just adds another level of authenticity for me.
