Classic is great for a number of reasons, slower gameplay feels more immersive. Starting out as a lone adventure feels more of a vibe (especially as a rogue or hunter) than starting out as a hero of azeroth, I mean I've never even met Wrathian and he's talking to me like I'm his friend, I much prefer the adventurer vibe over the hero of azeroth. Also, as much as I love dragonriding, I feel like flying in general ruins the mmorpg vibe when everyone is flying. Maybe if they made flying available at level 60 might be better. Also the voiceover addon is a game changer for classic. Blizzard needs to implement this into retail ASAP. I also hate that Blizzard removed the gun sound in retail, I like hearing my gun go boom lol and I hate that they got rid of feeding my pet. Things that's keeping me playing retail: transmog is really cool, I like trying to find a badass armor set that fits my character style. Also, I love dragon riding and flying lol. Also updated graphics and character models is way better.
Once i got Opie i could never play without it
Ty Sir! Great help.
I have been playing GW and GW2 since Prophecies (2005). I've tried, WoW, the FF MMO's, ESO, SWTOR, And a handful of other MMOs... Nothing has quite hit like GW and GW2. The story of GW was just awesome with such rich and original lore. GW2 backed it up with a fantastic MMO experience (original GW wasn't quite MMO) ... The story, the pace of gameplay, the strategy, the builds, WvW, the respect of players' time and, in general, the players are just wonderful. It has a fostered a great, diverse and genuinely helpful community. And it is the game that encourages that kind of community in how it plays. Truly a beautiful MMO.
retail wow is not worth the time investment for what it proclaims to give you back it is designed to keep you on an endless loop..
super like and super suscribe lol
The interface is thin as mmos go perhaps, but it's got a lot of depth to it beneath the surface and it's all coherent, consistent.
The textures are unbelievable. There are some repetitions of course, but if you look at a fence for instance, the boards will all be different and look old. Some people turn bloom off. Lot of vibe to the visuals though.
BetterBags, a new version of AdiBags is far superior. A big bag without sections is very meh.
1:00 "play whatever you want idc" lmao
Is it only curseforge for addons now? or has anything less shitty come along?
are you even a gnome?
Great video, I just started playing retail and am really enjoying it, but I think deep down I want that classic experience. Time to heal my inner child and finally grind some classic WoW.
Awesome video man answered all the questions I had short and sweet. I'm new to wow. As in the last few days. You should do some wow beginner mistake videos
The OmniCC link in the description is taking me to OmniCD instead.
Yeeees. Hate your game. Haaaaaaaate. Stupid americans. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA.
The only reason im thinking about classic is ZONE SCALING I fucking HATE that shit so much
@@Cenajohn654 yeah you'll definitely be getting some scaling in retail no doubt. What makes you hate it so much? 😆 Just curious
@@Vizzient well like you yourself talked about character progress in classic instead of how it is in retail how u are immedietly super powerful. I find it ludicrous how u can in retail be lvl 1 and killing dragons with other maxed out characters, you should start from boars and move up not immedietly jump from tutorial island to kill dragons, giants etc it just feels wrong just like in runescape u start by killing goblins and then move onto giants its logical. My own personal experience in retail wow I started from tutorial island killed some murlocs there now 20 levels higher I see murlocks again oh wait its those guys lemme go mess with them and then they kill me... So wait I killed these guys in tutorial zone and now when im 20lvls higher they killed me?? Make it make sense... I should one hit those fucks i killed them already in tutorial zone.
Tldr theres no sense of progression when everything scales...
@@Cenajohn654 right on I get it. I feel both ways about it personally so always curious on other peeps thoughts.
@@Vizzient I understand the "level up anywhere you want" , "play whatever content you want" , "play with friends regardless of level gap" but I still find it wrong that you are killing dragons straight from the jump after tutorial😂 Whats your take on it? I would like to know am I alone on this one...
I played SOD for a bit until I realized the world of warcraft under blizzard has no integrity, rampant gold buying, paid for addons, ai customer support, and im sick of it all. World of warcraft is my favorite game of all time but its hard to justify paying for a wow sub when private servers are free, and Im not trying to say that all private servers are better, but there are a lot of them, and some of them are better.
@@spectrophobia4042 yeah the gold buying and botting were pretty out of control right away. It's really only so annoying to me because obviously they could stop it if they wanted to.
we were 10 friends playing sod and just sod, we stopped after the 3rd month and still phase 1, blizzard just milked the shi out of this idea it killed it
@@ignaciocampos5719 early phase 1 was a banger but it definitely kinda dragged on yeah

I totally agree with the points you made! My idea of a WOW+ would be similar to OSRS in terms of updates to the "vanilla" aspect of the game. Start with a base "vanilla" version of the game, add a way to vote on future updates of the game to give the community full control of the direction of the game. Imagine a world where the players control the direction of their favorite mmo A.K.A OSRS!!!!
@@lukevanEVO I think OSRS has perfected the method. Small incremental changes is definitely the move because we all just want classic with a LITTLE added. Appreciate you watching!
I'm a shaman main, i didnt play shaman this time around because friends wanted to go alliance, i rolled fury warrior, got dogshit runes all the while i was hearing my main class shaman and enhancement at that being the best class, i burned out. idgaf im playing the faction and class i want regardless of what people want
LOL I was the guy who made everyone roll alliance within my friends... bit of a mistake there 😆
@youtubefan5786 always play the characters YOU want to play in WoW. It's your game time. You do what you want with it. Also, play how you want to aswell, for me, I always play a year or two behind as I don't play in a guild or do current raiding. I wait till I can solo raids. xD 😆
So are you still playing? Leave for The War Within? Let me know why or why not!
SoD fell off for me when the incursions happened. I literally lost interest within days after i saw that so many people speedleveled and got so much gold in such a short amount of time. killed any feeling of normal progression that you feel when everything takes its time. I love the build up in games like this. A little grind and time investments are necessary to give stuff "worth". i get that the real pros just want to rush end content and be done... but then why even come to a server like this? they have retail. why does blizzard cater to this kind of playerbase when so many people are literally asking for a "slower" experience in these classic + variants?
Incursions killed the vibe so bad man. Lead to so many players leaving and that whole leveling portion of the world being completely dead. Live and learn I guess!
exact same experience
I just want a tbc server :(
@@BobbyFlay14 so many people are asking for that these days. Makes you appreciate how good TBC really was! But who knows the anniversary event is coming... Hopefully some exciting news
I feel like in the cons with classes being broke was early p1 and p2 hunters as being on CS I would die out of no where by a hunter pet
@@donnierager4719 LOL pets were so broken! Couldn't even 1v1 them 😂
I quit at s4. I've done all classic raids and wanted the raids to be changed more. No interest in speed farming mc more
@@tuesti7c yeah I was hyped for MC with a whole big rework and we got basically the same raid again 😅 and as a mage having to stand there and be a decurse bot got so old ..
dude has anyone told you you look like Richard Schiff... obviously 30 years younger lmao
@@alexcia3221 nope can't say I have heard that 😆 had to look up who that was LOL
Might sound weird, but they should do cats with classic style. The long leveling and everything, set in cata universe
@@sp00g37 leveling is definitely the bit that keeps classic alive. I hope they keep experimenting and just keep it a focal point whatever they do.
FF14 does shove story down your throat and it’s horrid.
It really took me out of it unfortunately. Very linear.
Retail players absolutely despise even considering that some people would prefer a slower and more grounded MMO. They cannot stand that, to some people, endgame isn’t the their entire focus. With that being said, classic players can be delusional too. Seeing classic players saying classic is harder than retail is hilarious.
To me, Classic=MMO & Retail=ARPG... To be fair they are both the best at what they do. But yeah some people can't accept other ways to have fun 😆
I don't hate WoW. I hate that I'll never love WoW again because of what it has become... Also it has one of the worst player communities I've veer seen.
@@Cold-Blooded-Jay second sentence hits home so well how many people think. Preach.
Honestly do not hate the game, merely indifferent towards it. There were also many people who left simply due to them not trusting the community at all. Personally, being harassed by the Cult of Steve Danuser on a Roleplaying server was kind of a breaking. Although he quit the Working at Blizzard Entertainment. Still have no plans to quit PSO2 to return to WoW. It's kind of hard to turn down a higher polygon version of my WoW character, as well as a melting pot of a community which feels like family.
@@DekRavenmane I'm very glad the era of players telling blizzard what they want and it being totally ignored is over tbh
It’s not hated. People outside of the game hate it. It’s like owning an iPhone. You could literally say nothing about it but someone will come along and tell you about their Android.
@@o0Donuts0o as an Android user, yes 😂
I personally believe that the reason WoW is so "hated" is because many long - term players are metathesiophobia. They're just afraid of the changing times.
@@kby234 yeah sometimes people just don't like the specific changes and others just straight up hate any change. Which there's really no getting past...
wow haters that still play or care so much about it when they hate t are like incels. they hate women BUT they still love them.
@@derknusperhase_ivi lol I see where you're coming from 😂
I swear im not addicted, i just love my 65 characters, look! they all have their own backstories and transmogs and personalities and families. I have it all down here on this long spreadsheet and im slowly getting them all up from 70 to 80! Not an addiction i swear
@@norricommander no definitely not completely reasonable! 😂
I hate it because of the community personally
@@agrayfisch yeah people can be mad toxic or passive aggressive at the least. Think it comes down to finding a chill guild in the end.
Only video games change and evolve so fast they completely alienate their fanbases. Which is why it's so easy to hate on a game like wow that makes giant changes every two years when all that's really need is surgical fixes to quality of life and class mechanics. Imagine if a major sport like Baseball or Football or Hockey completed overhauled every aspect of their game every two years. Sure they make rule changes but the fundamentals of the game remain the same. World of Warcraft was arbitrarily changed with each expansion as a reason to justify the full new title price they sold them for and in the end they ruined the game.
True gameplay overhaul wise the rate is pretty insane
i would recommend classic if ur new to wow, if ur not new and don't feel lost then play retail.
For me its robbing me after all these years of support by taking a shit on the story and bringing in real life problems/propaganda into my place for escapism.
I started in vanilla and left (as well as many people I knew) right before the pandas came out because that was just too cartoon for me. I only came back a couple years ago and catching up my criticism is that each expansion feels like a smaller map with less actual exploration or wonder of what's around that bend or waterfall. Flying got too easy and now everybody is in this frenetic pace of take off, land, slaughter, take off, return quest, repeat. It's like what Marvel did to cinema. Am I only the only person leftover who doesn't have ADHD?! I'm going to be completely fair though. It was 20 years ago and there is a factor of everything in life seeming more exciting when you're in your 20's as opposed to your 40's. The game HAS changed, but so have us who were there from the start.
@@Scroll_Lock yeahhh flying was always kinda Pandora's Box for WoW. Though dragon riding at least makes it spicy flying I guess 😆
Change is not bad. I expected the game to evolve. But they made changes that went away from the core elements that I enjoyed. There was ways to change and add things in that would have been more in line and spirit with the original vision. But we dev turn over and chasing every dime from players has ruined a once great game in my opinion.
@@sheetmetalcards7987 yeah there was certainly a pretty horrible like 4-5 year span decision wise from blizz that did so much damage that can be hard to come back from imo
It's wild to me that people still think this way when WoW's cash shop is easily one of the least* predatory ones in the MMO space right now. Legitimately. Even FFXIV is horrible about its cash shop totaling almost $3000 in product at the moment. GW2 inconveniences you excessively in order to get you to quickly spend money on convenience items, AFTER spending $150 to just get all the content. ESO's is hands down the worst with its overpriced cosmetics, seasonal rotation, convoluted systems, waaay overpriced lootboxes, and expensive homes on top of a sub cost and $40 expansion each year. Warframe's is really good, but there's plenty of noob traps specifically meant to get new players to sink platinum into them so that they're forced to spend real money or take way too long farming things starting off to make the money back. If it was my way, sure, you'd be able to buy game time/$15 with gold at its highest price (I think like 170k right now) and pay $20 for a significantly lower percentage with no monetary-based cash shop purchases cosmetic or otherwise if they're gonna do that at all, because buying game time with gold is honestly the only decent thing about WoW's cash shop. But don't delude yourself into thinking other MMOs right now are somehow better. Though WoW started the cash shop game in western MMOs, it stands right now as one of the least* predatory. *except the level boosts, those are stupid expensive for no reason why would you spend $60 to skip like 10 hours of leveling
@@dulcetwho5770 you're not wrong it's pretty chill overall other than the token. WoW players are just major old heads who won't like any of it though for sure.
This is funny cuz i used to hate WoW and never played it. I remember it was during the famous EOC update for runescape that I kept saying in the rs forums “Man this update sucks this is not World of Wacraft!” Boy I joined in MoP and no game has ever done what this game has done to me. I was so HOOKED. Love you WoW ❤️
@@Darkblitzrc LOL had the same experience myself just during Wrath
wow this is a really high quality video for such a small channel
@@nexus_falling appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watchin
Hell hath no fury like a lover scorn. That's a major reason, people got unreasonably attached to Azeroth. The thing I find odd is that anyone upset with retail has an INSANE amount of options, both official and private.
@@natecw4164 LOL I think I said that line and might have cut it out that's hilarious. So true.
saying it’s hated is crazy cause it’s doing numbers and it did for MMOs what fortnite has done for battle royales the entire genre wouldn’t even be what it is if not for WoW. It’s changed but that’s what things do over time if you all played the same game for 20 years you wouldn’t have liked that very much either and would’ve found ways to complain about that.
A lot of hate comes from it just being the biggest MMO at a time when MMOs were really good. Just about every MMO I've played was either better as a whole or better in multiple aspects than WoW. WoW just managed to hit it hot at the right time when a couple older MMOs had started their downturn.
@@Arccanos yeah WoW was really the start of the casual MMO experience (not losing stuff when you die) and they absolutely struck gold with timing.
@@Vizzient Ultima, Everquest, EVE...random ones like Motor City online, Earth and Beyond....there were many MMOs before WoW that were failing, and WoW scooped those players up and never looked back.
I forgot about Lineage 1&2. Whole heartedly preferred Lineage 2 to WoW, but none of my friends played.
@@Arccanos yeah to be fair the only reason I got into it was my friends already being into it. To be fair I did end up loving it but friends really makes all the difference in the end.
@@Vizzient Yep. It was fun. And great early on. Just fell far short of other MMOs of the time. For example, LOTRO won many game of the year awards during what most people consider WoW's peak. Not that awards mean everything, but LOTRO...lol.
